"Meskipun Facebook telah menjadi salah satu social networking sites (SNSs) yang paling populer dan bermanfaat di Internet, penggunaannya telah dikaitkan dengan kesejahteraan psikologis. Dengan demikian, tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menguji hubungan antara penggunaan Facebook dan kecemasan sosial, depresi, dan social belonging. 852 orang (545 perempuan, 289 laki-laki, 18 tidak mengidentifkasikan jenis kelamin; Mage = 28.94, SD = 13.98) direkrut secara acak melalui survei online. Penggunaan Facebook, kecemasan sosial, depresi, dan social belonging diukur dengan menggunakan item yang dipilih dari berbagai kuesioner. Analisis korelasi Pearson mengungkapkan korelasi negatif yang signifikan antara penggunaan Facebook dan kecemasan sosial (r = -.07, p = .033) serta depresi (r = -.11, p = .001) sementara korelasi positif yang signifikan ditemukan antara penggunaan Facebook dan social belonging (r = .13, p < .001). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan Facebook yang lebih besar dikaitkan dengan tingkat kecemasan dan depresi sosial yang lebih rendah serta social belonging yang lebih tinggi, menunjukkan bahwa platform ini dapat digunakan sebagai media untuk meningkatkan kesejahteraan psikologis.

Although Facebook has become one of the most popular and beneficial social networking sites (SNS) on the Internet, its prevalent use has been linked to problems associated with one’s psychological well-being. As such, the aim of this research was to examine the individual relationships between Facebook use and social anxiety, depression, and social belonging. A community sample of 852 people (545 female, 289 male, 15 non-binary, 3 other-identifying; Mage = 28.94, SD = 13.98) were randomly recruited through an online survey. Facebook use, social anxiety, depression, and social belonging were measured using selected items from various questionnaires. Pearson’s correlation analysis revealed significant negative correlations between Facebook use and social anxiety (r = -.07, p = .033) as well as depression (r = -.11, p = .001) while a significant positive correlation was found for social belonging (r = .13, p < .001). These findings demonstrated that greater Facebook use was associated with lower levels of social anxiety and depression as well as a higher sense of social belonging, suggesting that this platform may be utilised as a medium to improve one’s psychological wellbeing."

"Tahap perkembangan remaja seringkali ditandai dengan peningkatan kecemasan sosial. Meskipun Social Anxiety Disorder (SAD) merupakan gangguan yang umum terjadi pada remaja, SAD cenderung sulit untuk diidentifikasi. Faktor budaya diduga berpengaruh terhadap batasan antara tingkat kecemasan sosial yang normal dan patologis. Penelitian ini menggunakan explanatory sequential design (kuantitatif-kualitatif) untuk (1) menguji pengaruh self-construal terhadap kecemasan sosial melalui peran mediasi emosi malu pada remaja etnis Jawa dan (2) menjelaskan penghayatan kecemasan sosial remaja etnis Jawa yang dibandingkan dengan gejala SAD dalam DSM-5. Dalam penelitian kuantitatif, pengukuran terhadap kecemasan sosial, self-construal, dan emosi malu melibatkan 37 remaja berusia 14-17 tahun dengan kedua orang tua beretnis Jawa dan berdomisili di Provinsi DI Yogyakarta, Jawa Tengah, dan Jawa Timur. Hasil uji mediasi menggunakan causal steps approach menunjukkan bahwa emosi malu tidak berperan dalam hubungan antara self-construal dengan kecemasan sosial. Selain itu, independent construal secara signifikan berpengaruh negatif dan emosi malu berpengaruh positif terhadap tingkat kecemasan sosial. Selanjutnya, empat partisipan dengan kecemasan sosial yang tinggi berdasarkan pengukuran pada penelitian kuantitatif diikutsertakan dalam wawancara mendalam tentang gejala kecemasan sosial yang mereka alami. Hasil dari inductive analysis menunjukkan bahwa tingginya kecemasan sosial tidak selalu mengarah pada penegakan diagnosis SAD. Norma dalam budaya Jawa yang cenderung menerima gejala kecemasan sosial menyebabkan dampak negatif tidak muncul terhadap fungsi sehari-hari remaja. Implikasi dari hasil penelitian ini menekankan pada pentingnya mempertimbangkan konteks budaya remaja dalam menegakkan diagnosis SAD.

Adolescence is often marked by increased social anxiety. Even though Social Anxiety Disorder (SAD) is one of the most common disorders among adolescents, SAD is likely to be difficult to recognize. Cultural factors may influence the boundary between the normal and pathological level of social anxiety to be ambiguous. Using an explanatory sequential design (quantitative-qualitative), the aims of this study were to (1) examine whether self-construal influence social anxiety through mediating role of and (2) explore the meaning and experience of social anxiety symptoms among Javanese adolescents by comparing them with SAD symptoms in DSM-5. For quantitative study, measurement of social anxiety, self-construal, and shame involved 37 adolescents aged 14-17 year-old with both parents are Javanese and settle in DI Yogyakarta, Central Java, and East Java Province. The result of mediation analysis using causal steps approach indicated that there is no mediation effect of shame in the relationship between self-construal and social anxiety. In addition, only independent construal have a negative effect and shame have a positive effect significantly on social anxiety intensity. Furthermore, four participants with high social anxiety based on measurement in the quantitative study were joined an in-depth interview about their social anxiety symptoms. Results of the inductive analysis indicated that high social anxiety does not necessarily lead to the diagnosis of SAD. Norms in Javanese culture that tends to tolerate social anxiety symptoms causes no negative impact on adolescents' functions of daily life. The findings suggest that considering adolescent cultural context is essential for diagnosing SAD."

"Penelitian terdahulu menemukan bahwa mahasiswa akhir memiliki kecemasan tinggi karena mementingkan pencapaian akademik yang menunjang karir ke depannya. Posselt et al. (2016) juga menemukan bahwa berada pada lingkungan dengan kemampuan tinggi membuat individu lebih cemas dibandingkan berada di lingkungan dengan kemampuan beragam. Oleh karena itu, penelitian bertujuan untuk melihat hubungan positif antara perbandingan sosial dan kecemasan akademik pada mahasiswa akhir di tiga perguruan tinggi terbaik Indonesia. Partisipan penelitian berjumlah 165 mahasiswa semester 7 hingga 14. Hasil penelitian ini adalah terdapat hubungan positif dan signifikan antara perbandingan sosial dan kecemasan akademik mahasiswa akhir di UI, ITB, dan UGM (rs(165)=0.397,p<0.01,one-tailed). Mahasiswa diharapkan untuk fokus pada hal positif dari diri sendiri dan keadaan ketika melakukan perbandingan sosial.

Research has found that final-year students have high academic anxiety because they prioritizes academic achievements that support their future career development. Posselt et al. (2016) has also found that when students are in high-ability environment will be more anxious than in mixed-ability environment. Therefore, the research aims to see relationship between social comparison and academic anxiety in final students in top three Indonesian universities. This research’s participants are 165 students from 7 to 14 semesters. Recent research found that there were positive and significant relationship between social comparison and academic anxiety in final-year students of top three Indonesian universities (rs(165)=0.397, p<0.01, one-tailed). Students are expected to focus on the positive side of self and situation in social comparison."

"Seiring dengan peningkatan angka penggunaan intenet, penggunaan media sosial di Indonesia mengalami peningkatan dari tahun ke tahun. Media sosial di Indonesia digunakan oleh berbagai kalangan, salah satunya mahasiswa keperawatan. Media sosial memiliki berbagai dampak bagi penggunanya. Salah satu dampak negatif yang mungkin diakibatkan dari penggunaan media sosial adalah kecemasan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara intensitas penggunaan media sosial dan kecemasan pada mahasiswa keperawatan. Desain penelitian ini adalah analitik korelatif cross-sectional dengan menggunakan instrumen Social Networking Time Use Scale (SONTUS) dan Zung Self-Rating Anxiety Scale (ZSAS). Penelitian ini dilakukan pada 238 Mahasiswa Program Sarjana Keperawatan di Jakarta yang dipilih dengan teknik stratified random sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan mayoritas intensitas penggunaan media sosial Mahasiswa Program Sarjana Keperawatan di Jakarta adalah pada kategori sedang (42%), sedangkan mayoritas tingkat kecemasan adalah pada kategori tidak cemas (84.5%). Selain itu, tidak terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara intensitas penggunaan media sosial dengan kecemasan pada Mahasiswa Program Sarjana Keperawatan di Jakarta. Institusi pendidikan diharapkan dapat mempertahankan atau meningkatkan program-program terkait pencegahan kecemasan bagi mahasiswa, serta menggunakan media sosial sebagai salah satu sarana pembelajaran atau sarana komunikasi. Mahasiswa juga diharapkan dapat menggunakan media sosial untuk hal-hal yang positif sehingga dapat mengambil manfaat dari penggunaan media sosial.

Along with the increase in internet usage, social media usage in Indonesia has increased from year to year. Social media in Indonesia is used by various groups, one of them is nursing students. Social media gives various impacts on its users. One negative impact that may result from using social media is anxiety. This study aims to determine the correlation between the intensity of social media use and anxiety among undergraduate nursing students. The design of this study was a cross-sectional correlative analytic using the Social Networking Time Use Scale (SONTUS) and the Zung Self-Rating Anxiety Scale (ZSAS) instrument. This research was conducted on 238 undergraduate nursing students in Jakarta selected by stratified random sampling technique. The results showed that the majority of the intensity of the social media use for undergraduate nursing students in Jakarta was at a moderate level (42%), while the majority of anxiety levels were in the non-anxious level (84.5%). In addition, there is no significant correlation between the intensity of social media use with anxiety in nursing undergraduate students in Jakarta. Educational institutions are expected to maintain or improve programs related to anxiety prevention for students, and to use social media as one of learning or a means of communication. Students are also expected to use social media for positive things so they can get benefit from social media use.

"Kecemasan dirasakan oleh siswa kelas XII dalam menghadapi ujian masuk Perguruan Tinggi Negeri (PTN) melalui Ujian Tulis Berbasis Komputer (UTBK). Dukungan sosial dapat menurunkan tingkat kecemasan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara dukungan sosial dengan kecemasan siswa kelas XII dalam menghadapi ujian masuk PTN melalui UTBK. Sampel penelitian adalah 319 responden dengan kriteria inklusi siswa kelas XII tahun ajar 2023/2024 serta siswa yang memiliki gawai. Desain penelitian menggunakan cross sectional. Tehnik pengambilan sampel dengan tehnik Cluster Random Sampling. Penelitian ini menggunakan instrumen TAS untuk mengukur kecemasan  dan instrumen MSPSS. Analisis data menggunakan uji Chi-Squre yang menunjukkan hasil terdapat hubungan antara dukungan sosial dengan kecemasan siswa kelas XII dalam menghadapi ujian masuk PTN melalui UTBK (p-value = 0,001). Penelitian ini merekomendasikan pemberi layanan, seperti petugas Unit Kesehatan Sekolah (UKS) untuk melakukan penyuluhan terhadap siswa kelas XII serta memberikan informasi kepada para orang tua dan guru untuk selalu memberikan dukungan sosial kepada para siswa kelas XII, baik dukungan emosional, informasional, intrumentasl, dan penghargaan.

Class XII students feel anxiety when facing the State University (PTN) through the Computer-Based Written Exam (UTBK). Social support can reduce anxiety levels. This research aims to determine the relationship between social support and anxiety of class XII students in facing the PTN entrance exam through UTBK. The research sample was 319 respondents with the inclusion criteria being class XII students for the 2023/2024 academic year and students who own devices. The research design used cross-sectional. The sampling technique is the Cluster Random Sampling technique. This research uses the TAS instrument to measure anxiety and the MSPSS instrument. Data analysis used the Chi-Squre test which showed that there was a relationship between social support and anxiety of class XII students in facing the PTN entrance exam through UTBK (p-value = 0.001). This research recommends that service providers, such as School Health Unit (UKS) officers, provide counseling to class XII students and provide information to parents and teachers to always provide social support to class XII students, including emotional, informational, instrumental, and award."

"Penggunaan ponsel pintar berlebihan dapat menyebabkan Phantom Vibration Syndrome sehingga memicu masalah kesehatan jiwa seperti kecemasan dan interaksi sosial pada remaja. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi hubungan Phantom Vibration Syndrome dengan tingkat kecemasan dan interaksi sosial remaja. Desain penelitian menggunakan deskriptif korelasi bersifat cross-sectional dengan 64 mahasiswa Fakultas Ilmu Keperawatan Universitas Indonesia angkatan 2019 yang dipilih melalui teknik Simple Random Sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan online dengan instrumen penelitian Phantom Vibration Syndrome, Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale, dan interaksi sosial. Hasil uji korelasi Spearman menunjukkan ada hubungan antara Phantom Vibration Syndrome dengan tingkat kecemasan (p=0,015), sedangkan uji Chi-Square juga menunjukkan ada hubungan antara Phantom Vibration Syndrome dengan interaksi sosial (p=0,026). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Phantom Vibration Syndrome berhubungan dengan tingkat kecemasan dan interaksi sosial. Phantom Vibration Syndrome dapat dicegah dengan membatasi penggunaan ponsel dan jika sudah terjadi kecemasan dapat dilakukan teknik relaksasi dan melakukan belajar secara berkelompok untuk meningkatkan interaksi sosial remaja.

The excessive use of smartphones can cause Phantom Vibration Syndrome that triggers mental health problems such as anxiety and social interaction issue. This study was conducted to identify the relationship between Phantom Vibration Syndrome with anxiety levels and social interaction in adolescents. Descriptive correlative with cross-sectional study used with 64 students of the Faculty of Nursing at the University of Indonesia batch 2019 through Simple Random Sampling. The data were collected online by using three instruments, including Phantom Vibration Syndrome, Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale, and social interaction. This study was found that Phantom Vibration Syndrome associated with anxiety and social interaction. Spearman correlation test showed a relationship between Phantom Vibration Syndrome and anxiety level (p=0.015). Meanwhile, chi-Square test also found a relationship between Phantom Vibration Syndrome and social interaction (p=0.026). Phantom Vibration Syndrome can be prevented by limiting smartphone usage. If anxiety has occurred, relaxation techniques can be used and group study can be useful to improve adolescent social interaction.

"Sebagai mahasiswa, berada pada masa transisi dari remaja akhir menuju dewasa awal dan memiliki berbagai tuntutan yang diemban dapat berpotensi menimbulkan gangguan kesehatan mental salah satunya yakni kecemasan. Fenomena kecemasan ini dapat berdampak buruk hingga fatal pada individu jika terus meningkat. Oleh karena itu, penting bahwasannya untuk mengetahui hal-hal yang berperan dalam menurunkan tingkat kecemasan pada mahasiswa. Penelitian ini memiliki bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah peran dari perceived social support terhadap kecemasan dimoderasi self-esteem. Variabel kecemasan diukur dengan 10 item dimensi kecemasan dari Hopkins Symptom Checklist-25 (HSCL-25), perceived social support diukur dengan Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS), dan self-esteem diukur dengan Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (RSES). Sebanyak 747 mahasiswa dari berbagai perguruan tinggi di Indonesia merupakan responden dalam penelitian ini. Hasil dalam penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa perceived social support berhubungan secara negatif terhadap kecemasan, namun hubungan di antara keduanya tidak dimoderasi self-esteem.

As a college student, being in the transition from late teenage to young adult and have a lot of role demands may leads to increase mental illness which one of them is anxiety. This anxiety phenomenon can bring bad impact up to fatalities if it keeps on escalating. Therefore, it is important to know the matters that have impact on reducing the anxiety level of college students. This research’s goal is to know the role of perceived social support to anxiety level and moderated by self-esteem. The anxiety variable was measured using 10 items anxiety dimension of Hopkins Symptom Checklist-25 (HSCL-25), the perceived social support was measured using Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS), and the self-esteem was measured using Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (RSES). Total of 747 college students from various colleges in Indonesia were respondents in this research. The result of this research indicates that perceived social support has a negative relationship to anxiety, but the relationship between both is not moderated by self-esteem."
