Groundwater vulnerability provides a measure of how easily contaminants at ground level reach aquifers. Most Cijurey watershed communities still use groundwater as the main water source. However, the location of residence is near to the rice fields so that the groundwater used is potentially polluted. This study aims to determine the spatial pattern of shallow groundwater vulnerability and determine its relationship to nitrate concentrations. This study uses the DRASTIC-LU and VLDA models. The highest vulnerability of the DRASTIC-LU model is with a moderate vulnerability of 42.62%. The highest VLDA vulnerability class is with a moderate vulnerability of 55,98%. Areas with high and very high vulnerability according to both models are in the northern part of the Cijurey watershed which is a residential area with slopes of less than 12%. The DRASTIC-LU and VLDA vulnerability models have suitable vulnerability class of 840.77 ha or 54.31%. Nitrate concentrations in the Cijurey watershed have concentrations of zero to 29.7 mg / L. Groundwater with concentrations above the quality standard is in the residential and rice fields, which comes from sewage, septic, and fertilization systems. Based on the regression analysis, there is a significant influence between the vulnerability index on nitrate concentrations. DRASTIC-LU index affects the nitrate concentration by 56.37% and VLDA affects the nitrate concentration by 33.62%.
"The rapid and uncontrolled population growth of the city causes pressure on the availability of land. In addition, various problems such as uneven public facilities such as disasters such as floods and landslides that occur at this time will be even worse in the future. This research attempts to make projections regarding population growth so that the available land can be used sustainably. Modeling system is a method that can describe real situations regarding land availability. Land use suitability assessment is the main determinant in the planning and decision making process. The variables taken for this study are slope, altitude, and land cover. This study provides information on projections of population growth and built areas, as well as land suitability for future city formation and flood and landslide mitigation strategies for the development of built areas.
