Pendulum appliance is one of intra oral appliances to distalize molars for correction of class II molar relationship or space gaining in the maxillary arch. Its major advantages are no need to depend on patient compliance, ease of fabrication, and better patient acceptance. In this case, 22 years old female patients with class ll division 2 malloclussion were treated with pendulum appliance for unilateral distalation of the maxillary molar teeth. Pendulum can distalize second molar until 4 mm in 4 months and continues to distalize first molar in 3 month. Nevertheless, relaps 2mm happens during anterior retraction. This case has shown that pendulum is an effective and reliable appliance for distalizing maxillary molars. However, molar distalization is at the expense of moderate anchorage loss during anteior retraction, which could possibly be reduced if the anchor unit is adequately reinforced."

"Diastemas are spaces or gaps between two or more consecutive teeth. They can occur anywhere in the upper or lower dental arches. Diastemas can occur in mixed dentition and closes spontaneously when the canines erupt, but in certain circumstances, diastema will persist until period of permanent teeth. This etiologic factor has to identify because it will influenc effectivenees of closing the multiple diastemas. The multiple diastemas that happened at the anterior upper and lower which caused by deficient tooth structure and missing of some teeth (agenesis), accompanied of central diastema which influenced by anterior labialis frenulum, should treated comprehensively. Treatment of this case entangle ortodontic, periodontic, conservative dentistry, and prostodontic. Reposition of abnormal frenulum attachment (frenectomy), arrangement of occlusion and teeth interdigitation, getting continuity of dental arch through achieving good approximal teeth contact by crown reshaping and replaced of missing tooth element with prothesis, and then making of retainer to maintain stability of treatment result are serial of treatments for the case. By cooperation of multidicipline proffesionals, the final result is to obtain the optimal esthetics, functional, and stability result of treatment, will achived."

"ABSTRAK
Unilateral posterior crossbite is commonly seen in mixed dentition, but it couldn't be self corrected. If this condition is not treated properly, it could lead to asymmetric face. Asymmetric face with unilateral posterior crossbite could make the treatment process more difficult. The objective of this study is to find out the relationship between transversal skeletal asymmetry and unilateral posterior crossbite. Patients older than 13 years with skeletal asymmetric face, who had never undergone orthodontic treatment or facial sugery were selected. The sample consisted of 15 females and 6 males (15 - 32 years old). Anteroposterior cephalogram was used for determining the difference between right and left of antegonial and the deviation of menton. Criteria for asymmetry were more than 3 mm on Antegonial and 2 mm or more on Menton. Mid Sagital Reference (MSR) was used as reference line. Unilateral posterior crossbite could be seen in the dental model. The data was analyzed using Mann Whitney test. It was revealed that from 21 samples, 38.1% was found to have unilateral posterior crossbite with majorly involving four posterior teeth. Conclusion: There is no relationship between transversal skeletal asymmetry and unilateral posterior crossbite (p > 0,05)."
