Pada tahun 2000-an muncul beberapa wacana baru.

Forest die-back_ was one of the important issues in 1978 and 1979. Forest, which is the symbol for the German_s national identity, was assumed to be dying. The term _forest die-back was then born in the 1980s. At the same time, it became a discourse in every social class in the German society. In the next decades, this discourse has continued to exist. But is it the same one, or has it undergone some changes? This is the problem that will be analyzed in this thesis. To answer the question above, I will analyze various kinds of articles in magazines and newspapers, posters, caricatures, short stories, and poetries, using the discourse analysis method. In the end of analysis, it will be concluded that, from the 1980s through 2000s, the _forest die-back_ discourse has experienced some changes. In the 2000s, several new discourse have emerged. At the same time, nevertheless the old discourse still survives and turns into a metaphor for something that is terrible and negative."
