Abstrak :
Tesis ini membahas mengenai aksi protes masyarakat AS terhadap McDonalds terkait penyebaran epidemi obesitas periode 2000-2013. McDonald?s menjadi target protes masyarakat karena dianggap mewakili industri restoran makanan cepat saji di AS. Fokus penelitian ini menunjukkan awal mula masyarakat mulai intens melancarkan protes terhadap McDonald?s serta bentuk-bentuk protesnya. Tesis ini menggunakan metode penelitian analisis deskriptif-interpretatif dan menggunakan teori pop culture, budaya makan, New Social Movement, pressure group, simbol, serta media massa dalam analisis. Dari penelitian ini didapat simpulan bahwa McDonalds memenuhi protes masyarakat sebagai upaya agar bisnis yang telah dijalankan sejak 1948 tersebut terus bertahan dan tidak kalah bersaing dengan kompetitor.

On 2000 -2013, McDonald's had become the target of protests against fastfoodinflicted obesity in the US. This giant restaurant chain was dubbed as the symbol of fastfood restaurants that lead to the unhealthy eating habit. This research focused on asessing the initial stage of the protests and its forms, using descriptive-interpretative method and pop culture theory, eating habbit theory, New Social Movement theory, Pressure Group Theory, Symbol, and Mass Media to analyse it. This research concludes, at present McDonald?s has successfully maintain its position as a leading, prominent fastfood corporation in the US.

Tesis ini membahas tentang pendekatan yang dilakukan Amerika Serikat di Kawasan Asia Pasifik dengan menggunakan konsep dan teori politik luar negeri terhadap penyelesaian sengketa di Laut Cina Selatan pada periode kepemimpinan Presiden Barack Obama 2009-2016 . Penelitian memanfaatkan metode kualitatif secara deskriptif analitik untuk memberikan gambaran terkait judul tesis ini. Proses pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui studi kepustakaan. Hasil penelitian menemukan bahwa Amerika Serikat mendorong penyelesaian sengketa Laut Cina Selatan secara damai melalui proses menjaga keseimbangan di kawasan Asia Pasifik; tujuannya adalah menggalang persatuan dan dukungan negara-negara yang terlibat dalam konflik, serta resolusi perdamaian dan menghargai prinsip-prinsip internasional.Proses tersebut dapat diidentifikasi dari kebijakan luar negeri pada era pemerintahan Presiden Barack Obama yang mengalihkan fokus strategi dari Timur Tengah ke Asia serta memasukkan stabilitas Laut Cina Selatan sebagai kepentingan nasional dengan mengimplikasikan smart power international order yang diplomatis untuk membangun kerjasama baik yang bersifat bilateral maupun multilateral dengan negara-negara di kawasan Asia Pasifik. ......This thesis examines an approach of the United States in the Asia Pacific region by using theory and concept of foreign policy of the Obama rsquo s administration 2009 2016 in settling the South China Sea disputes between nations of ASEAN and China. It uses qualitative research by using descriptive analytics design to provide an overview of the topic studied. The process of data collection was done through literature study. The results of the study discovered that the United States encouraged ASEAN member countries which are confronting disputes with China over South China Sea. To settle those disputes the United States in one way, supports the countries involved in the conflict, and in other way, encourages to call for peace resolution and respect the principles and spirit of international law. The approach taken by the United States was drawn from the switch of the United State foreign policies under the Obama rsquo s administration from the Middle East to Asia known as Pivot to Asia and to include maintaining stability as integral part of the United States national interests in the Asia Pacific. Finally, the United States is displaying a sort of diplomacy, the smart power international orderto establish cooperation with countries in the Asia Pacific region both bilaterally or multilaterally.

Tesis ini membahas dinamika yang terjadi dalam ekonomi jejaring. Penelitimenggunakan perspektif Neo Schumpeterian dan berfokus terhadap industrivideo game dengan studi kasus Steampowered.com. Penelitian ini melakukananalisis menggunakan perspektif Neo Schumpeterian, ekonomi berbasispengetahuan, ekonomi berbasis jejaring dan berdasarkan pengalaman para pelakuyang aktif dalam Steampowered.com yang terdiri dari dua pengembang videogame independen, dan satu konsumen. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwaberdasarkan perkembangan teknologi informasi, telah terjadi perkembangan dariekonomi berbasis pengetahuan menuju pemanfaatan ekonomi berbasis jejaringyang dilihat sebagai suatu bentuk inovasi, dan memiliki efek besar terhadapkewirausahaan dan usaha kecil menengah berbasiskan teknologi. ...... This thesis observes the dynamics of network based economy. The perspective used by the researcher is Neo Schumpeterian perspective and focuses on video game industry with Steampowered.com as a case study. This research conducts analysis using the perspective of Neo Schumpeterian theory, knowledge based economy, and network based economy dependant to the experiences of the actors connected to Steampowered.com which consists of two independent video game developers, and one consumer. The research concludes that based on the information technology advancements, there is a move towards a network based economy seen as a kind of novelty and innovation, which has impacts towards entrepreneurship and small medium enterprises SME.

Tesis ini membahas mengenai kepentingan Pemerintah Amerika Serikat dalam Joint Operating Agreement antara Pertamina dengan ExxonMobil. Permasalahan yang diangkat yaitu latar belakang keterlibatan pemerintah Amerika Serikat, padahal semestinya JOA diselesaikan dengan Business to Business. Pengaruh dari Multi National Corporation ExxonMobil menjadi salah satu perhatian dari Tesis ini dalam melihat hubungan MNC dan National Interest dalam hal mempengaruhi sikap pemerintah Amerika Serikat di Blok Cepu. Metode pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan studi pustaka dan pencarian diinternet. Dari hasil penelitian, ditemukan bahwa kepentingan pemerintah Amerika Serikat untuk menjaga keberlangsungan dari perusahaan transnasional yang berasal dari negaranya. ......This thesis discusses the U.S. government interests on the Joint Operating Agreement between Pertamina and ExxonMobil. Issues raised that background the U.S. government 39 s involvement, whereas the JOA should be completed by the Business to Business. Influence of Multi National Corporation ExxonMobil became one of the concerns of this thesis in the relationship of MNC and National Interest in influencing the attitude of the U.S. government in Cepu. Data collection camed out of the literature study and the internet searching. From the research, it was found that the interests of the U.S. government is to maintain the continuity of transnational companies from their own country.
