"Latar belakang. Kognitif merupakan proses berpikir akibat aktivitas sejumlah fungsi kompleks dari berbagai sirkuit di otak. Adanya gangguan kognitif menunjukkan terjadinya gangguan fungsi otak. MCI ( Mild Cognitive Impairment ) merupakan gangguan kognitif ringan yang sudah terjadi pada kelompok lanjut usia nondemensia. Berbagai studi menunjukkan gambaran dan prevalensi MCI pada lanjut usia nondemensia. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat gambaran fungsi kognitif dan prevalensi MCI pada kelompok lanjut usia nondemensia .
Metode. Penelitian ini menggunakan cara potong lintang dengan populasi semua lanjut usia nondemensia di Puskesmas Tebet dan Pasar Minggu yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi. Semua subyek dilakukan anamnesis, pemeriksaan fisik umum dan neurologis , Dilakukan pemeriksaan fungsi kognitif dengan menggunakan CERAD dan Trail Making Test - B. Diagnosis MCI menggunakan kriteria dari Petersen RC. Data diolah dengan menggunakan tes chi-square, Fisher's Exact dan memakai program SPSS versi 12
Hasil. Pada penelitian ini didapatkan 300 lanjut usia (> 60 tahun) nondemensia, rentang usia antara 60-76 tahun (rerata 63,5 ± 4,1 tahun) dengan kelompok usia terbesar 60 - 65 tahun (75,0%) , terdiri dari 177 (59%) wanita dan 123 (41%) pria. Sebanyak 269 subyek (89,6%) memenuhi kriteria MCI. Subkelas MCIa 22 kasus (7,3%), MClsdnm 81 kasus (27%) dan MCImd 166 kasus (55,3%). Gangguan kognitif terbanyak pada MCIa adalah Memori Rekognisi (81,8%) , pada MClsdnm adalah Fungsi Eksekutif (100%) dan pada MCImd adalah Fungsi Eksekutif (89,1%) beserta Memori Rekognisi (64,5%). Didapatkan hubungan bermakna antara MCIa dengan DM ( p = 0,038 ; OR 0,10 ; IK 95% 0,01;0,88 ) dan MCImd dengan pendidikan rendah ( SD dan SLP) (p = 0,000 ; OR 5,32 ; IK95% 2,12;13,31 ) dan DM (p = 0,008 ; OR 0,26 ; IK95% 0,10;0,70 ).
Kesimpulan. Prevalensi MCI pada lanjut usia nondemensia ( > 60 tahun ) ditemukan sebesar 89,6% .Rana kognitif yang paling banyak terganggu adalah Memori Rekognisi dan Fungsi Eksekutif . Faktor risiko terbanyak adalah pendidikan rendah dan DM

Background. Cognitive function is the process of several complex functions of various circuits in the brain. Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) is a transition state between normal and probable dementia. The aim of this study was to describe the cognitive impairment profile and the prevalence of MCI in non demented elder
Methods. This was an analytical cross sectional study which included all non demented elder patients who fulfilled the inclusion criteria. Medical history, physical and neurology examination were performed.. The patient's cognitive function was examined using neurophsycology test of CERAD and Trail Making Test-B. Diagnostic criteria of mild cognitive impairment were confirmed by using criteria from Petersen RC (< 1.5 SD below normative value ). The data were analyzed using chi-square, Fisher' exact and using SPSS for Windows ver. 12.
Result. There were found 300 non demented elder ( age > 60 years old ), 177 (59%) subjects were female and 123 (41%) were male , range of age was 60-76 years old (mean 63,5 ± 4,1 years old ) with largest age group were 60-65 years old ( 75,0%). There were 269 (89,6%) subjects fulfilled the MCI criteria with MCIa 22 (7,3%) , MClsdnm 81 (27%) and MCImd 166 (55,3%) . The most affected cognitive domain in MCIa was Recognition Memory ( 81,8%) in MClsdnm was Executive Function (100%) and in MCImd were Recognition Memory (64,5%) together with Executive Function (89,1%) . In addition, a significant correlation was found between the MCIa and DM ( p=0.038;OR 0,10; CI95% 0,01;0,88) and between MCImd with poor education (p=0.000;OR 5,32; C195% 2,12;13,31) and DM (p=0.008;OR 0,26; CI95% 0,10;0,70.
Conclusion. Prevalence of MCI in non demented elder (> 60 years old ) 89,6% . The most affective cognitive domains were Recognition and Executive Function . The most risk factors were poor education and DM

"Latar Belakang. Gangguan fungsi kognitif dapat terjadi pada pekerja yang terpajan toluen. Gangguan fungsi kognitif tersebut terutama adalah penurunan memori, atensi dan konsentrasi, yang dapat menurunkan produktifitas kerja. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui prevalensi gangguan fungsi kognitif dan faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi.
Metode Penelitian. Desain potong lintang dilakukan pada 102 orang pekerja perempuan usia 19-40 tahun dan pendidikan minimal SMA. Data dikumpulkan dengan kuesioner, pemeriksaan fisik dan laboratorium serta MMSE. Kriteria inklusi adalah masa kerja ≥ 1 tahun dan bersedia menjadi responden dengan menandatangani informed consent. Kriteria eksklusi adalah hamil, menstruasi,merokok, minum alkohol, riwayat cedera kepala, hipertensi, gula darah dan dislipidemia. Faktor risiko yang diteliti antara lain umur, status perkawinan, masa kerja, lama kerja, kepatuhan pakai masker, stres kerja dan status gizi. Umur, status perkawinan,masa kerja dan lama kerja diambil dari data HRD. Status gizi didapatkan dari perhitungan Indeks Massa Tubuh. Kepatuhan pakai masker berdasarkan pengawasan kepatuhan APD. Stres kerja dinilai menggunakan kuesioner Survey Diagnostik Stress.
Hasil. Walaupun kadar toluen didapat lebih kecil dari nilai ambang batas toluen , didapatkan prevalensi gangguan fungsi kognitif sebesar 52 %. Area kognitif yang menurun adalah atensi kalkulasi dan visuospasial. Faktor risiko yang secara bermakna mempengaruhi gangguan fungsi kognitif adalah masa kerja, lama kerja, kepatuhan pemakaian masker, stres kerja yang meliputi konflik peran, ketaksaan peran, beban kerja kualitatif, beban kerja kuantitatif, pengembangan karir dan tanggung jawab rekan kerja. Hasil analisis multivariat menunjukkan konflik peran merupakan faktor risiko yang paling mempengaruhi gangguan fungsi kognitif ( OR 7,546 Interval kepercayaan 95% 1,5 - 41,88 ).
Kesimpulan. Prevalensi penurunan fungsi kognitif studi ini lebih besar dari penelitian sebelumnya dan teori. Aspek kognitif yang menurun didominasi oleh atensi kalkulasi dan visuospasial. Konflik peran merupakan faktor risiko yang paling mempengaruhi gangguan fungsi kognitif.

Background. Cognitive Function Impairment can happen among workers expose by Toluene. This impairment mainly effect in attention, concentration and memory function, and can decrease working productivity. This study aims to calculate the prevalence of Cognitive Function impairment and related risk factors.
Method. Cross sectional design study was conducted on 102 female workers, age 19-40 years old and graduated from senior high school. Age and education were obtained from secondary data, and followed by interviews, physical and laboratory examination and Mini Mental States Examination. The inclusion criteria were age ≥ 1 year of work and willing to be the subject of research. Exclusion criteria were pregnancy, menstruation, smoker, Alcohol consumption, history of head injury, hypertension, diabetes mellitus and Dyslipidemia. Risk factor included in this study were age, marital status, duration of work,time of work, PPE obedience ,work stress and nutritional status. Age, Marital status, Duration and Time of work were from secondary data of HRD department. Nutritional status was obtained from body mass index calculation. face mask obedience was obtained from data of wearing mask compliance. Work stress was assessed using Survey Diagnostic Stress Questionnaire.
Results. The prevalence of Cognitive Function Impairment was 52 % , mainly at Attention - Calculation and Visuospasial Aspect respectively. Significant risk factors ( p value < 0,05 ) in this study were duration of work and time of work, PPE obedience and all of work stress domain. The Result of multivariate analysis show that conflict of role was the most influence factor ( OR 7,546 C.I 95% 1,5 - 41,88 ).
Conclusion. This study found that the prevalence of cognitive function impairment was higher than theory and other similar studies . Cognitive aspects mainly affected were attention - calculation and visuospatial. Conflict of role was the most inluence risk factor relating with cognitive function impairment.

"[ABSTRAK
Peningkatan stres oksidatif selama penuaan, dianggap sebagai kontributor utama pada proses neuro-degenerasi dan kehilangan neuron, dan merupakan faktor utama dalam patologi penyakit Alzheimer dan penurunan kognitif terkait usia. Vitamin E merupakan antioksidan potensial yang menjadi fokus utama penelitian gangguan fungsi kognitif dan penyakit Alzheimer. Penelitian potong lintang pada populasi lansia sehat di Kelurahan Cikoko ini dilakukan pada bulan Desember 2014 untuk menilai hubungan antara kadar vitamin E serum dengan fungsi kognitif. Selain itu juga menilai asupan vitamin C dan E dengan metode FFQ. Penilaian fungsi kognitif dengan instrumen MoCA-Ina. Pemeriksaan laboratorium untuk mengetahui kadar vitamin E menggunakan metode HPLC. Data dianalisis dengan uji Mann-Whitney dan Chi-square. Sebagian besar subyek (75,9%) adalah perempuan dengan usia rata-rata 65 tahun. Sementara, kadar rata-rata vitamin E adekuat, yaitu 21,6 μmol/L. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa tidak ada hubungan signifikan antara kadar vitamin E serum dengan fungsi kognitif yang dinilai dengan skor MoCA-Ina. Meskipun berat badan normal hingga obes I menunjukkan hubungan signifikan dengan skor kognitif (r = 0,17 p = 0,026), tetapi tidak ada hubungan signifikan antara asupan vitamin C dengan fungsi kognitif (r = 0,19 p = 0,15) atau antara asupan vitamin E dengan fungsi kognitif (r = 0,04, p = 0.72) pada penelitian ini. Kesimpulan, tidak terdapat hubungan antara kadar vitamin E serum dengan fungsi kognitif.

Oxidative stress increases during ageing, is considered as a major contributor to neuro-degeneration and neuronal loss, and is a primary factor in the pathology of both Alzheimer’s disease and age-related cognitive decline. Vitamin E has been the main focus of investigation in studies of cognitive impairment and alzheimer’s disease during aging as a potent antioxidant. A cross-sectional study of an elderly population in Cikoko Regency in December 2014 was conducted to evaluate the association between serum vitamin E levels and cognitive function in elderly. Correlation between intakes of vitamin C and E as well as Body Mass Index to the MoCA-Ina scores were also investigated. Fifty four elderly were included in the study and interviewed for their vitamins intake using a Food Frequency Questionnaires (FFQ). Cognitive function was examined by Montreal Cognitive Assessment Indonesian version (MoCA-Ina). Levels of vitamin E serum were assessed by high performance liquid chromatography. Data were analyzed by using the Mann-Whitney and Chi-square test. The majority of the subjects were female (75.9%) with median age 65 years old. While, the median levels of vitamin E was 21.55 μmol/L. The result of this study showed that there was no association between vitamin E level and MoCA-Ina scores. Although normal weight to obese I was significantly associated with cognitive scores (r = 0,17 p = 0.026), no significant correlation between vitamin C intake and cognitive function scores (r = 0.19 p = 0.15) or between vitamin E intake and MoCA-Ina scores were found in this study (r = 0.04, p = 0.72). "Karbon monoksida merupakan senyawa gas yang tidak berbau, tidak berwarna dan tidak berasa tetapi sangat beracun. Karbon monoksida terutama berasal dari asap hasil pembakaran mesin dan kendaraan bermotor. Keracunan terutama terjadi karena proses inhalasi dan melalui mekanisme hipoksia, selanjutnya dapat menimbulkan gangguan sistem saraf pusat dengan gejala gangguan neurobehavioral dan fungsi kognitif.
Penelitian ini mengkaji hubungan antara pajanan kronis karbon monoksida dengan gangguan fungsi kognitif pada pekerja di lokasi parkir dalam gedung. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain cross sectional, melibatkan 93 pekerja di lokasi parkir dalam gedung rumah sakit dan hotel di Jakarta pada tahun 2015. Pengukuran kadar karbon monoksida di udara lingkungan kerja dilakukan 1 kali menggunakan metode spektrofotometri dengan iodida pentoksida. Pengukuran kadar COHb dilakukan dengan metode kromatografi gas melalui udara CO ekshalasi, sedangkan fungsi kognitif dinilai menggunakan kuesioner Montreal Cognitive Assessment. Prevalensi gangguan fungsi kognitif pada populasi pekerja di lokasi parkir dalam gedung 22,58%. Gangguan fungsi kognitif memiliki hubungan bermakna (p<0,05) berturut-turut dengan kadar CO ruang (ORcr=4,28; 95% CI = 1,15-15,86), kadar COHb (ORcr=6,5; 95% CI = 2,21-19,10) dan kebiasaan merokok (ORcr=6,81; 95% CI = 1,98-23,42).
Hasil analisis multivariat menunjukkan faktor risiko utama yang berhubungan dengan gangguan fungsi kognitif adalah kadar COHb ≥5% (ORadj=4,47; 95% CI = 1,23-16,25). Disimpulkan pajanan kronis CO di udara lingkungan kerja dapat menimbulkan gangguan fungsi kognitif yang ditandai dengan peningkatan kadar COHb dalam darah. Kebiasaan merokok merupakan faktor perancu utama, karena dapat secara langsung meningkatkan kadar COHb dalam darah dan menimbulkan gangguan fungsi kognitif melalui mekanisme kerusakan sel syaraf. Pemerintah perlu menyusun regulasi terkait pembangunan fasilitas parkir dalam gedung untuk menjamin kesehatan dan keselamatan pekerja.

Carbon monoxide (CO) is a colorless, nonirritating, odorless and tasteless gas. The most important human-made source of CO arises from the exhaust of automobiles. Carbon monoxide chronic intoxication mostly occurs from an inhalation process and can cause brain damage due to its sensitivity over hypoxia, and leads to various neural defects including neurobehavioral and cognitive function disturbance.
This study aimed to determine the relationship between chronic CO exposure and cognitive function among basement parking lot workers. This study used a cross-sectional design, involving 93 people age 20-40 years who work in a hospital or hotel basement parking lot in Jakarta on 2015. Carbon monoxide air levels in workplace were measured using iodine pentoxidespectrophotometric method, while COHb levels were measured once using Gas Chromatography through a CO exhalation procedure. Cognitive function was determined using the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) questionnaire.
Study result showed the CO air levels were all below threshold limit value (TLV) of 29 mg/m3. The prevalence of impaired cognitive function among basement parking lot workers was 22,58%. Carbon monoxide air levels, COHb levels and smoking habit factors were statistically significant related to impaired cognitive function, with ORcr 4.28 (95% CI = 1,15-15,86); ORcr 6.5 (95% CI = 2,21-19,10); and ORcr 6.81(95% CI = 1,98-23,42). Logistic regression method shows COHb levels is the only predictive factor of cognitive function with ORadj 4.47 (95% CI = 1,23-16,25). Therefore, it is concluded that chronic exposure of CO in the air workplace can cause cognitive function impairment, marked by a significant increase of COHb levels. Smoking habit is the main confounding factor, for it can directly increase COHb levels and impair cognitive function. Government should establish a punctual and effective regulation on how to build a basement parking lot facility regarding the safety of the workers.

"Latar Belakang. Anak dengan gangguan neurodevelopmental memerlukan upaya terapi terpadu untuk meningkatkan kualitas hidupnya. Studi ini bertujuan mengetahui pengaruh implantasi eksosom, stimulasi auditori binaural beat, dan terapi konvensional terhadap lima domain BDI-2 pada anak dengan gangguan neurodevelopmental.
Metode. Studi kohort retrospektif dengan rekam medis di RSUPN dr. Cipto Mangunkusumo dan RSAB Harapan Kita dilakukan pada anak dengan gangguan neurodevelopmental yang menjalani terapi sejak Januari 2021-April 2023. Subjek dikelompokkan menjadi kelompok perlakuan mendapatkan implantasi eksosom, stimulasi auditori binaural beat, dan terapi konvensional, sedangkan kelompok kontrol hanya mendapatkan terapi konvensional. Luaran yang dinilai yaitu domain perkembangan BDI-2. Analisis univariat dan bivariat dilakukan sesuai kebutuhan.
Hasil. Terdapat 25 subjek kelompok perlakuan dan 25 subjek kelompok kontrol. Tidak ada perbedaan karakteristik kedua kelompok sebelum perlakuan, kecuali domain motorik. Terdapat perbedaan usia developmental global maupun lima domain BDI-2 sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan pada kelompok perlakuan dan kontrol dengan median peningkatan usia developmental global masing-masing yaitu 7,5 dan 2,2 bulan. Tampak perbedaan peningkatan usia developmental global dan lima domain setelah perlakuan yang bermakna antara kelompok perlakuan dan kelompok kontrol.
Kesimpulan. Implantasi eksosom dan stimulasi auditori binaural beat dapat meningkatkan usia developmental global dan lima domain perkembangan berdasarkan penilaian BDI-2 secara signifikan pada anak dengan gangguan neurodevelopmental.

Background. Children with neurodevelopmental disorders require integrated therapeutic efforts to improve their quality of life. This study aimed to determine the effect of exosome therapy, binaural beat auditory stimulation, and conventional therapy on five BDI-2 domains in children with neurodevelopmental disorders.
Method. Retrospective cohort study using medical records at dr. Cipto Mangunkusumo National Center General Hospital and RSAB Harapan Kita was conducted for children with neurodevelopmental disorders who underwent therapy from January 2021 to April 2023. Subjects were grouped into a treatment group receiving exosome therapy, binaural beat auditory stimulation, and conventional therapy, while the control group only received conventional therapy. The BDI-2 developmental domains were assessed. Univariate and bivariate analysis were performed as needed.
Results. There were 25 subjects in the treatment group and 25 subjects in the control group. There were no differences in subjects’ characteristics between the two groups before treatment, except for the motor domain. There were differences in global and five BDI-2 domains developmental age before and after treatment in the treatment and control groups with a median increase in global developmental age, respectively, 7.5 and 2.2 months. There were significant differences in the increase of global and five domains developmental age after treatment between the treatment group and the control group.
Conclusion. Exosome therapy and auditory binaural beat stimulation improve global and five domains developmental age significantly based on BDI-2 assessment in children with neurodevelopmental disorders.

"Latar belakang. Kognitif merupakan proses sejumlah fungsi kompleks dari berbagai sirkuit di otak. Diabetes mellitus tipe 2 merupakan salah satu faldor risiko gangguan kognitif melalui mekanisme vaskuler dan non-vaskuler. Berbagai studi menunjukkan hubungan antara diabetes dengan risiko terjadinya demensia. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat gambaran fungsi kognitif pada penyandang OM tipe 2 . Metode. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian potong lintang dengan populasi penyandang OM tipe 2 berusia 2: 50 tahun yang berobat di Puskesmas Tebet dan Pasar Minggu Jakarta yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi. Semua subyek dilakukan anamnesis, pemeriksaan fisik umum dan neurologis serta pencatatan kadar gula darah puasa dalam 2 tahun terakhir. Kemudian dilakukan pemeriksaan fungsi kognitif untuk menilai atensi, bahasa, memori, praxis, fungsi eksekutif dan kecepatan psikomotor. Kriteria gangguan kognitif ringan tanpa demensia (CIND) adalah bila ditemukan satu atau lebih skor kognitif di bawah < 1.5 standard deviasi nilai normatif. Data dianalisis menggunakan tes chi- square, Fisher's exact dan Mann Whitney memakai program SPSS versi 11 .5 Hasil. Pada penelitian ini didapatkan 96 pasien OM tipe 2, rentang usia antara 50-75 tahun (rerata 59.5 ± 5.53 tahun), terdiri dari 55 (57.3%) wan ita. Sebanyak 84 (87.5%) subyek memenuhi kriteria CIND. Rana kognitif yang paling terganggu adalah fungsi eksekutif (77.1%). Sebagai hasil tambahan, didapatkan hubungan bermakna antara gangguan fungsi kognitif dengan tingkat pendidikan (p=O.007; OR:6.69; IK.95% 1.48;34.34). Subyek berusia ~ 60 tahun memiliki kecenderungan terjadi gangguan atensi(p=O.023) dan immediate memory (p=0.039). Subyek dengan durasi OM ~ 5 tahun cenderung memiliki gangguan pada immediate memory (p=O.OO2). Subyek dengan kriteria pengendalian GOP buruk berhubungan bermakna dengan gangguan fungsi eksekutif (p=O.006). Subyek dengan riwayat hipertensi memiliki kecenderungan terjadi gangguan atensi (p=0.OO35). Kesimpulan. Gangguan kognitif umum ditemukan pada penyandang OM tipe 2 terutama gangguan fungsi eksekutif. Pasien OM tipe 2 dengan tingkat pendidikan rendah mempunyai kecenderungan memiliki gangguan fungsi kognitif (CINO). Faktor usia lanjut, lama OM, pengendalian GOP dan hipertensi berhubungan dengan gangguan pada rana kognitif spesifik."

Latar belakang: Perkembangan kognitif anak dipengaruhi oleh status gizi yang merupakan masalah di Indonesia (17,7%). SYSTEMS-R adalah salah satu pemeriksaan fungsi kognitif dengan waktu pengerjaan singkat, serta sensitivitas (83%) dan spesifisitas (76%) tinggi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat hubungan status gizi dengan fungsi kognitif anak usia 6-15 tahun dengan pemeriksaan SYSTEMS-R.

Metode: Penelitian ini memiliki desain kasus kontrol yang dilakukan pada anak usia 6-15 tahun di SDN dan SMPN dengan teknik consecutive sampling.

Hasil: Penelitian ini terdiri dari 105 subyek, yaitu 60 subyek kelompok kasus (kognitif kurang berdasarkan usia dan tingkat pendidikan) dan 45 subyek kelompok kontrol (kognitif baik). Subyek penelitian dengan pendapatan orang tua di bawah UMR berisiko 2,4 kali memiliki kognitif kurang (63,6%) dengan p <0,05. Penelitian ini tidak menunjukkan hubungan bermakna antara status gizi dan fungsi kognitif. Subyek dengan gizi baik dan tinggi badan normal cenderung memiliki kognitif baik berdasarkan usia dan tingkat pendidikan.

Kesimpulan: Pendapatan orang tua memiliki hubungan dengan fungsi kognitif. Penelitian ini tidak menunjukkan hubungan bermakna antara status gizi dan fungsi kognitif. Subyek penelitian dengan gizi baik dan tinggi badan normal cenderung memiliki kognitif baik.


Background: Children’s cognitive development is influenced by nutritional status which is a problem in Indonesia (17,7%). SYSTEMS-R is an cognitive examination with a short processing time, high sensitivity (83%) and specificity (76%). This study aims to see the relationship of nutritional status and cognitive function of 6-15 years old child with The School Years Screening Test For Evaluation Of Mental Status Revised (SYSTEMS-R).

Methods: This case control study was carried out in children aged 6-15 years at Elementary and Junior High School with consecutive sampling techniques.

Results: This study consists of 105 subjects, which is 60 subjects in case group (cognitive dysfunction) and 45 subjects in control group (normal cognitive function). Subject with low parental income had 2,4 times the risk of having cognitive dysfunction (63,6%) with p <0,05. This study did not show a significant relationship between nutritional status and cognitive function. Subjects with normal nutritional status and height tend to have normal cognitive function based on age and education level.

Conclusions: Parental income has a relationship with cognitive function. This study did not show a significant relationship between nutritional status and cognitive function. Subjects with normal nutritional status and height tend to have normal cognitive function.

"Latar belakang: Malnutrisi berhubungan dengan patologi struktural dan fungsional di otak yang dapat mengganggu maturitas sistem saraf pusat (SSP). Hal ini dapat menyebabkan gangguan belajar dan mempengaruhi kecerdasan anak. Salah satu instrumen untuk menilai maturitas SSP adalah dengan pemeriksaan soft sign neurology yang dapat menilai kelainan motorik atau sensorik tanpa adanya lesi struktural di SSP.
Tujuan: Melihat perbandingan neurodevelopment anak dengan gangguan gizi dan anak gizi normal.
Metode: Penelitian potong lintang secara konsekutif nonrandom sampling pada anak usia 5-18 tahun dengan gizi normal dan ganguan gizi di wilayah Jakarta yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi, dilakukan wawancara dengan orang tua, recall makanan, dan pemeriksaan soft sign neurology dengan instrumen Physical and Neurological Examination for Soft Sign (PANESS). PANESS terdiri dari 43 aitem untuk menilai gerakan motorik, graphesthesia, stereognosis, keseimbangan, gerakan berkelanjutan, gerakan bergantian dan string test.
Hasil: Dari 170 subyek didapatkan soft sign neurology pada 135 subyek (79,4%) terdiri dari 72 laki-laki (53,3%) dan 63 perempuan (46,7%); 70 subyek (77,8%) kelompok gizi normal dan 65 subyek (81,2%) kelompok gangguan gizi. Terdapat perbedaan yang bermakna secara statistik antara kelompok gizi normal dengan kelompok gangguan gizi usia 5-12 tahun pada penilaian total graphesthesia, total keseimbangan, dan total PANESS (p<0,05). Terdapat perbedaan yang bermakna secara statistik antara kelompok gizi normal dengan kelompok gangguan gizi usia 13-18 tahun pada penilaian gerakan bergantian (p=0,047).
Kesimpulan: Terdapat perbedaan soft sign neurology yang bermakna antara kelompok anak gizi normal dengan kelompok anak gangguan gizi terutama pada kelompok usia 5-12 tahun. Hal ini menunjukkan keterlambatan dalam maturitas SSP.

Background: Malnutrition is associated with structural and functional pathology of the brain, which can disrupt maturity of central nervous system (CNS). Furthermore, this condition will cause learning disability and influence child intellegency. One of instrument to assess maturity of the CNS by using Neurological soft signs (NSSs) which can assess abnormal of motor and sensory findings without a structural lesion in the CNS.
Aim: This study is aimed to assess association of neurodevelopment between malnutrition and normal nutrition children.
Method: This cross-sectional study used consecutive non-randomized sampling by enrolled to children range between 5-18 years old within normal nutrition and undernutrition based at Jakarta regions which had met with inclusion and exclusion criteria, and had undergone interview with their parents, 24 hours recall nutrition, and NSSs examination using Physical and Neurological Examination for Soft Sign (PANESS) instrument. PANESS consist of 43 items was used for the assesment of motor movement, graphestesia, stereognosis, balance, continuity of movement, alternating movement and string test.
Result: From total of 170 subjects, there were 135 subjects (79.4%) have NSSs, consist of 72 boys (53.3%) and 63 girls (46.7%). In normal nutrition group there were found 70 subjects (77.8%) have NSSs and at malnutrition group there were found 65 subjects (81.2%) have NSSs. It showed that there was significant difference between normal nutrition between 5-12 years old compared to malnutrition group in total assessment of graphesthesia, total balance, and total score of PANESS (P<0.05). There were significant difference between normal nutrition group of 13-18 years old with malnutrition group at alternating movement (P=0.047).
Conclusion: There is significant difference of NSSs between normal nutrition and malnutrition especially for children between 5-12 years old. This finding showed delay of the CNS maturity.

"[ABSTRAK
Tesis ini membahas refleks primitif pada anak usia 4-12 tahun dengan gangguan pemusatan perhatian dan hiperaktivitas (GPPH) dan tanpa GPPH serta faktor-faktor yang memengaruhinya. Penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif dimana refleks yang dinilai adalah refleks Moro, asymmetric tonic neck reflex (ATNR), symmetric tonic neck reflex (STNR), tonic labyrinthe reflex (TLR), dan spinal Galant. Hasil yang ditemukan adalah banyak anak dengan GPPH ditemukan refleks primitif, terutama ATNR. Faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi GPPH adalah pendidikan orangtua, pekerjaan ayah, pola asuh, kemiskinan, kesehatan ibu saat mengandung, dan paparan rokok. Diharapkan refleks primitif dijadikan sebagai pemeriksaan rutin pada anak sebelum memasuki usia sekolah.

"Latar belakang. Kognitif merupakan proses sejumlah fungsi kompleks dari berbagai sirkuit di otak. Diabetes mellitus tipe 2 merupakan salah satu faktor risiko gangguan kognitif melalui mekanisme vaskuler dan non-vaskuler. Berbagai studi menunjukkan hubungan antara diabetes dengan risiko terjadinya demensia. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat gambaran fungsi kognitif pada penyandang OM tipe 2 . Metode. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian potong lintang dengan populasi penyandang OM tipe 2 berusia - 50 tahun yang berobat di Puskesmas Tebet dan Pasar Minggu Jakarta yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi. Semua subyek dilakukan anamnesis, pemeriksaan fisik umum dan neurologis serta pencatatan kadar gula darah puasa dalam 2 tahun terakhir. Kemudian dilakukan pemeriksaan fungsi kognitif untuk menilai atensi, bahasa, memori, praxis, fungsi eksekutif dan kecepatan psikomotor. Kriteria gangguan kognitif ringan tanpa demensia (CIND) adalah bila ditemukan satu atau lebih skor kognitif di bawah < 1.5 standard deviasi nilai normatif. Data dianalisis menggunakan tes chi- square, Fisher's exact dan Mann Whitney memakai program SPSS versi 11.5 hasil. Pada penelitian ini didapatkan % pasien DM tipe 2, rentang usia antara 50-75 tahun (rerata 59.5 ± 5.53 tahun), terdiri dari 55 (57.3%) wanita. Sebanyak 84 (87.5%) subyek memenuhi kriteria CIND. Rana kognitif yang paling terganggu adalah fungsi eksekutif (77 .1% ). Sebagai hasil tambahan, didapatkan hubungan bermakna antara gangguan fungsi kognitif dengan tingkat pendidikan (p=0.007; OR:6.69; IK.95% 1.48;34.34). Background. Cognitive function is the process of several complex functions of various circuits in the brain. Type 2 diabetes is one of the risk factors which may cause cognitive function impairment through vascular and non-vascular mechanisms. Many studies show that there is a positive correlation between diabetes mellitus and the risk of dementia. The aim of this study was to describe the cognitive function of people with type 2 diabetes before any dementia manifestation occurred. Methods. This was an cross sectional study which included all type 2 diabetes patients who fulfilled the inclusion criteria. Medical history, physical and neurology examination were performed, fasting blood glucose levels of all the patients in the last 2 years were also collected. The patient's cognitive function was examined using neurophsycology test of CERAD, digit span, trail making B and finger tapping test Criteria of mild cognitive impairment without dementia (CIND) were confirmed if one or more cognitive scores were < 1.5 SD below normative value. The data were analyzed using chi-square, Fisher' exact and Mann Whitney test with SPSS for Windows version 11.5. Result. There were found 96 subjects with type 2 diabetes, 55 (57.3%) subjects were female, range of age was 50-75 years old (mean 59.5 years old SD 5.53). Eighty four (87.5%) subjects fulfilled the CIND criteria. The most affected cognitive domain was executive function (77.1%). In addition, a significant correlation was found between the cognitive impairment and the level of education (p=0.007;0R 6.69; Cl95% 1.48;34.34). Subjects with advanced aged or prior hypertension tended to have attention decicit; subjects with poor control of blood glucose had a significant correlation with executive dysfunction ; Subjects - 60 years-old and with diabetes more than 5 years tended to have immediate memory impairment (p<0.05). Conclusion. Cognitive impairment without dementia is commonly encountered in people with type 2 diabetes particularly in the domain of executive function. Type 2 diabetes patients with lower levels of education are more likely to have a cognitive impairment. There is a correlation between advanced age, duration of diabetes, control of blood glucose and hypertension with specific cognitive domain impairment."
