"The research examines the factors which influence the decisions of migrant workers to seek employment aboard. Three hundred households were chosen as samples for the study in Cirebon District, West Java. This research uses an econometric analysis with a multinomial logit model. The research concluded that: first, economic reasons, namely higher wage expectations, remain the primary reason for migration. Second, endowment, as income and family wealth, acts as an economic safety net which is a supporting factor of migration. Third, well-educated women under the age of 25 have a high probability of seeking employment aboard."

"Migration, trafficking and smuggling are different issues but
inter-related. Migration may take place through regular or irregular
channels and could be freely chosen or forced upon the migrant as a means
of survival. international migration is one of the responses to the changes
of socio-economic conditions between countries as people attempt to
improve their standard of living. Social conflicts arising front the collapse
of political systems are mostly behind the movement of people, economic
tensions originating front rebuilding global capitalism are also
contributing forced labor mobility in world scale. Transnational mobility in
Southeast Asia has been made used by syndicates involved in drag
trafficking and also hunan trafficking especially women and children. This
paper attempts to elaborate interlinks between migration, the phenomena of
undocumented labor, trafficking and politics in Southeast Asia.

The highest degrees of transnational belonging were found to be a motherhoodlike relationship with their homeland, in the category of autographical belonging; talking in their native language and eating traditional food in the area of cultural originality belonging; watching Bangladeshi television in cultural entertainment belonging; taking care of families who stay in the homeland in economic livelihood belonging; saving money for future wellbeing in economic financial belonging; feeling proud of being a Bangladeshi citizen in legal psychological belonging; and feeling secure as a Bangladeshi citizen in legal safety and security belonging. Transnational belonging to the homeland varies more by present occupation, visa status, and reason for migration, while labor migrants who hold E9 visas and migrants who migrated for economic reasons showed stronger transnational economic livelihood belonging and economic finance belonging. This study suggests subsequent studies to compare transnational belonging of various migrant groups through sampling based on sociodemographic factors."

"This book is about migration futures: the transnational movement of people and the portability of skills in a globalizing world. It explores why in recent decades, development has produced outcomes so different from what was proclaimed to be its goal resulting in the Great Divergence-a world unequal as never before. International migration must be seen in the context of the political economy of development and as the natural corollary to international trade and capital. In the post 2015 development context, sustaining global economic growth rates, expanding economic opportunity, democratizing human welfare, and progressing towards an equitable and just global order will be predicated substantially on the free movement of people. Over time, the policy and practice on international migration of most countries has only become more restrictive. The consequence has been high costs-both fiscal and human. The barriers to freer economic migration have distorted development outcomes globally. There is urgent need for a global framework that is rule based, non-discriminatory, and democratic to govern the transnational movement of people. The scale and spread of the Indian experience in migration as well as development and the intimate interplay of these two complex processes is matchless. International migration is as important for the world as for India to be left to uninformed debate or fragmented interventions. The challenge is to articulate a coherent policy framework and undertake coordinated modes of engagement. Failure to mainstream economic migration will jeopardize the basis of a modern, progressive, and democratic future for all.

"ABSTRAK
In the past, women migrated as part of a family and for family reunification, but recently they have been migrating according to their own independent purposes. As the quantity of womens immigration increases, the feminization of migration has emerged as one prominent feature in international migration. In international migration, the migrant network is a major resource, and it is one major factor that greatly influences migrants settlement, stabilization, and successful migration in the host country. Therefore, the present study in- vestigated the role of migrant networks in international migration and exam- ined how migrant network policies are implemented in Koreas social in- tegration policy for foreigners. The researcher analyzed the status of migrant womens networks in Korea, which have been neglected in Koreas policy implementation. The results showed that migrant women in Korea have been excluded from the formation of a network that could enable them to acquire resources in their settlement due to their vulnerable social status. The policy was mostly focused on marriage migrant women and their families due to Koreans putting emphasis on the bloodline based on patriarchal thinking. It was also found that women who migrated with the purpose of securing a job by joining the formal market area had more difficulties in accessing the mi- grant network because of the lack of time and economic burden. More prac- tical policies need to be established to facilitate network formation and access for all migrant women, through which they can acquire resources."

The study of migration within the field of International Relations is a complex and multifaceted issue. Two main approaches, security and development, have dominated this field. However, there is a shift in cross-border migration patterns due to the accumulation of wealth or privilege among migrants, both in economic terms and in relative political and cultural wealth. This has led to the emergence of a new international migration phenomenon known as lifestyle migration. As the name suggests, this relocation phenomenon emphasizes the fulfillment of lifestyle quality, differing from traditional patterns that focus on economic and political aspects. This paper aims to review 37 accredited international literature on the phenomenon of lifestyle migration. Based on a taxonomic method, the literature is divided into five thematic categories consisting of (1) aspects of the intrigue and motivation behind lifestyle migration, (2) the historical legacies and inequalities underpinning lifestyle migration, (3) the involvement of transnational networks in supporting the lifestyle migration phenomenon, (4) lifestyle migration within international economic and political regimes, and (5) the influence of global systems and power structures in the relocation process of lifestyle migration. This literature review seeks to uncover consensus, debates, and gaps in this topic. Additionally, this paper highlights several developmental trends in lifestyle migration studies based on themes, author origins, and perspectives used in the research. The review identifies that lifestyle migration is a multifaceted study, incorporating many approaches and perspectives to holistically address and examine the phenomenon of privileged migrants under the broad umbrella of international migration studies. This paper then recommends several follow-up writing agendas and underscores the importance of studying this phenomenon as a specific form of migration influenced and shaped by state interests."

Migration is one of the three components that change the world 39 s population beside death rate and birth rate and Indonesia is no exception. Indonesia, for example, is known to migrate from one place to another. The destination also varied between internal and international destination. Using data from Sensus Penduduk 2010, this study hopes to analyze the individual and household characteristics of Indonesian migrant with their choice of destination. There is two model purposed in this study, the first being multinomial logit model to understand the overall migration and the second one being binary logit model to further analyze internal migration. The results show there are significant correlations between individual and household characteristics to the migrant choice of destination. The study found that migration destination differs among different age groups. Female also found to have a higher probability to move both to internal and international migration. Another interesting finding in this study is I found Minangkabau and Bataknese compare to Javanese have a higher probability to migrate within Indonesia. Not only that relative to Muslim, Christians, and Buddhist have a higher probability to move within the country and outside the country. The implication of these findings is that it gives an insight of Indonesian migrant characteristics to help understand the migration pattern in Indonesia and further improve dissemination of population.
