Abstrak :
This paper aims at, firstly, arguing that the problems of terrorism and antiterrorism lie at the conflictual perception from Islam to the West, and the other way around. The conflictual perception not from a vacuum, but being born and raised in the context of history. From the glorius of Utsmaniyah government, the West had seen islam as a threat of their way of life. The it, on the other hand, is the benchmark for the same conflictual perception from Islam to the These conflicting perceptions then were developed through the ongoing courses of history, up till now when the issue of terrorism gains its momentum. Perceptions, then, are the problem for the vicious cycle of violence. And to settle the problem (this is the second point of the paper), an honest dialogue is required, a dialogue to see each other's point of view, and to come up with a peaceful code of conduct in relations between Islam and the West.
