Abstrak :
Tesis ini membahas tentang mata rantai keagensian yang berperan penting dalam mewujudkan perubahan. Para agen di sini terdiri dari agen-agen individu secara perorangan maupun sebagai representasi dari organisasi tertentu. Mata rantai ini menunjukkan berkelindannya agen-agen ganda yang memiliki potensi yang beragam sebagai agen yang saling memberi pengaruh, hingga hasil dari keterlindanan perilaku agen-agen ganda tersebut memunculkan satu perubahan praktik yang ternyata diikuti oleh hampir seluruh anggota komunitas praktisi. Fenomena ini terjadi pada petani kopi Arabika di Desa Parbotihan, Sumatera Utara. Pendekatan agency dan connectionism menjadi acuan dalam menjelaskan fenomena perubahan praktik petani mengganti jenis komoditas kopi Arabika. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan perubahan praktik petani terjadi karena efek dari kemampuan agen-agen yang saling berkelindan. Kekelindanan efek tersebut membentuk suatu mata rantai keagensian yang saling terhubung dan memengaruhi satu sama lain. Efek dari kemampuan yang terjadi diawali dari sebuah prakarsa. Faktor kebaruan dapat memicu reaksi liyan untuk melakukan adopsi sebagai uji coba untuk membuktikan sekaligus memperkaya skema pengetahuan budi dayanya. Efek dari prakarsa pada liyan dapat terjadi tanpa intensi Diri memberi efek pada liyan. Konstruksi relasi dapat menjadi sarana menggali pengetahuan mengisi kekosongan rumpang-rumpang pada skema pengetahuan. Narasi perlu dibangun secara kreatif dengan bukti-bukti visual sehingga meyakinkan liyan sebagai sasaran motivasi. ......This thesis discusses the agency chain that plays an important role in bringing about change. The agents here consist of individual agents as individuals or as representatives of certain organizations. This link shows the intertwining of multiple agents who have diverse potentials as agents that influence each other, until the result of the intertwined behavior of these double agents led to a change in practice which was followed by almost all members of the practicing community. This phenomenon occurs in Arabica coffee farmers in Parbotihan Village, North Sumatra. The agency and connectionism approach becomes a reference in explaining the phenomenon of changes in farmers' practices to replace the type of Arabica coffee commodity. The results of this study indicate that changes in farmers' practices occur because of the effects of the intertwined abilities of agents. The interdependence of these effects forms an agency link that is interconnected and influences each other. The effect of the ability that occurs begins with an initiative. The novelty factor can trigger other reactions to adopt as a trial to prove and enrich the knowledge scheme of cultivation. The effect of the initiative on others can occur without the intention of the Self having an effect on others. Relationship construction can be a means of exploring knowledge to fill the gaps in the knowledge schema. Narratives need to be creatively constructed with visual evidence so as to convince others as motivational targets.
