"[ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efek penonton dan stereotype threat pada pengukuran ketelitian hasil performa partisipan. Partisipan studi ini terdiri dari 40 mahasiswa perempuan, yang dibagi ke dalam empat kondisi yang berbeda. Peneliti hanya merekrut partisipan perempuan untuk menyederhanakan desain studi. Kondisi 2 (efek penonton: tidak ada penonton, ada penonton) x 2 (adanya presentasi stereotype threat: tidak ada presentasi stereotype threat, adanya presentasi stereotype threat) desain grup independen digunakan untuk mengukur hasil performa dari tugas yang diberikan. Partisipan diminta untuk menyortir kartu ke empat grup kartu sesuai bentuknya secepat yang mereka bisa, dengan memanipulasi adanya stereotype threat dan kehadiran penonton. Peserta diberi kuesioner setelah menyelesaikan tugas mengurutkan kartu. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada pengaruh dari penonton, tapi tidak ada pengaruh stereotype threat atau kombinasi dari keduanya. Kesimpulan diambil bahwa fenomena stereotype threat terlalu berlebihan dan pada studi ini justru bertindak sebagai reaktan.ABSTRACT This study aimed to investigate audience effect and stereotype threat on a timed accuracy performance. Participants included 40 female students, divided into four different conditions. The experimenter only recruited female participants to simplify the study design. A 2 (audience effect: no audience, audience) x 2 (presentation of stereotype threat: no stereotype threat, stereotype threat) independent groups design was used to measure task performance. Participants were asked to sort cards into four different suits as fast as they can, manipulated the stereotype threat and presence of audience. Participants were given a questionnaire to complete afterwards. Results showed that there was an effect of audience, but no effect of stereotype threat or combination of the two. It was concluded that robust phenomena of stereotype threat was overly exaggerated and might act as reactant.
