"Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh struktur pasar terhadap profitabilitas dan stabilitas bank di ASEAN-5 dengan menggunakan sampel 86 bank yang terdaftar di bursa efek negara ASEAN-5 pada tahun 2014-2020 dan diolah dengan regresi two-step system Generalized Method of Moment (GMM). Penelitian ini menyelidiki relevansi hipotesis structure-conduct-performance (SCP), efficient-structure (ES), dan quiet life (QLH) dalam kasus perbankan ASEAN-5 dan hasil empiris menemukan hanya efisiensi biaya bank yang mempengaruhi profitabilitas bank sehingga mendukung hipotesis efficient-structure. Selain itu, variabel kontrol ditemukan signifikan dalam mempengaruhi profitabilitas bank. Lebih lanjut, penelitian ini juga menguji relevansi hipotesis concentration-stability dan concentration-fragility dalam kasus perbankan ASEAN-5 namun hasil empiris menunjukkan variabel konsentrasi ditemukan tidak signifikan dalam mempengaruhi stabilitas bank.

This study aims to determine the effect of market structure on profitability and stability banks in ASEAN-5 using the sample of 86 banks listed on the ASEAN-5 countries’ stock exchange in 2014-2020 and processed with two-step system Generalized Method of Moment (GMM). This study investigates the relevance of the structure-conduct-performance (SCP), efficiency- structure (ES), and quiet life (QLH) hypotheses in the case of ASEAN-5 banking and the empirical results found only bank cost efficiency affects bank profitability thus support the efficient-structure hypothesis. In addition, the control variable was found to be significant in influencing bank profitability. Furthermore, this study also examines the relevance of concentration-stability and concentration-fragility hypothesis in the case of ASEAN-5 banking. The empirical results show concentration variable did not affect bank stability."
