The use of smartphones is a phenomenon that has received serious attention in the last few decades. The high intensity of smartphone use in adolescents can have several negative impacts, including a decrease in sleep time and quality. Poor sleep quality in adolescents can affect the productivity of daily activities and have an impact on health problems. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between smartphone use and the sleep quality of adolescents at State Senior High School 1 Kebumen. This research is a quantitative study with a cross-sectional study design on 98 adolescents. The results of the chi-square test analysis showed that there was a relationship between smartphone use and adolescent sleep quality (p = 0.001; α 0.05). Based on the results of this study, researchers hope that parents can increase awareness regarding the impact of smartphone use so that they can carry out education and prevention as early as possible. Nurses are expected to be able to become educators and facilitators regarding the importance of quality sleep for adolescents. Researchers recommend further research related to smartphone use and sleep quality in adolescent age groups other than high school students."

"This study explores whether teenagers? traditional media use time
has been affected by smartphone use time. Drawing on the Korean Media Panel
Survey from 2011 to 2014, we specify two models?a two-stage least squares
(2SLS) and a two-stage least squares with individual fixed effects (2SLS-FE)?
and compare the estimates. The estimates from the 2SLS model show that
teenagers? smartphone use time has a substitution effect on book reading time,
computer use time, and TV watching time, while the estimates from the 2SLSFE
model show that teenagers? smartphone use time has a substitution effect on
teenagers? book reading time and computer use time but no significant effect on
their TV watching time."

"This book provides a far-sighted perspective on the role of wearable and wireless systems for movement disorder evaluation, such as Parkinsons disease and Essential tremor. These observations are brought together in the application of quantified feedback for deep brain stimulation systems using the wireless accelerometer and gyroscope of a smartphone to determine tuning efficacy. The perspective of the book ranges from the pioneering application of these devices, such as the smartphone, for quantifying Parkinsons disease and Essential tremor characteristics, to the current state of the art. Dr. LeMoyne has published multiple first-of-their-kind applications using smartphones to quantify movement disorder, with associated extrapolation to portable media devices."

"A significant and convenient approach to detection and analysis of biological, environmental and agricultural items is the harnessing of features in widely available smartphones to create field-deployable scientific instruments, allowing measurements to be made onsite and in real-time. This book will cover a number of self-contained smartphone instruments with the particular focus on spectroscopic-based measurements. Measurement and analysis on precision of such low-cost instrumentations are provided to compare with more expensive commercial equipment.
This book also discusses some limitations, possible recommendations and scopes for further instrumentations using smartphones and other smart devices. Particularly, the opportunity to integrate the devices into the global Internet-of-Things (IoT) platform will be discussed.
Researchers and instrumentation designers in optical and photonic sensing, smart and IoT-based sensing, biological and environmental analysts, agricultural, and food quality researchers (and public health authorities) will find this book useful as reference. Students in science and engineering disciplines for teaching and educational purposes will also find this book useful as a secondary textbook."

"This book reports on cutting-edge research on social and occupational ergonomics, presenting innovative contributions to the optimization of sociotechnical management systems related to organizational, policy, and logistical issues. It discusses timely topics related to communication, crew resource management, work design, participatory design, as well as teamwork, community ergonomics, cooperative work, and warning systems, and explores new work paradigms, organizational cultures, virtual organizations, telework, and quality management. The book also describes pioneering infrastructures implemented for different purposes such as urban, health, and enterprise, and examines the changing role of automated systems, offering innovative solutions that address the needs of particular populations. Based on the AHFE 2018 International Conference on Social and Occupational Ergonomics, held in Orlando, Florida, USA on July 21–25, 2018, the book provides readers with a comprehensive overview of the current challenges in both organizational and occupational ergonomics, highlighting key connections between them and underlining the importance of emotional factors in influencing human performance."
