"Latar belakang: Pneumokoniosis merupakan kelainan akibat penumpukan debu di dalam paru sehingga menyebabkan timbulnya reaksi akibat pajanan debu tersebut didalam jaringan yang dinamakan sebagai fibrosis. Pekerja tambang kapur termasuk ke dalam daerah pertambangan yang diketahui memiliki risiko tinggi terkena pajanan debu silika. Serum surfactant protein D (SP-D) akan meningkat pada pekerja yang terpajan silika sehingga hal ini menjadikan penanda hayati ini mungkin dapat digunakan sebagai alat pendeteksi dini penyakit paru akibat kerja.
Metode: Penelitian potong lintang ini menggunakan penghitungan sampel secara consecutive sampling pada bulan November 2018-Maret 2019 pada 71 subjek penelitian yang bekerja di area pertambangan dan penggilingan batu kapur. Pemeriksaan kadar serum SP-D menggunakan metode ELISA.
Hasil: Pada penelitian ini didapatkan karakteristik penelitian pekerja tambang kapur didominasi oleh jenis kelamin laki-laki dengan median umur 42 tahun, status pendidikan terbanyak sekolah dasar, mayoritas telah bekerja <6 tahun dan bekerja >8 jam dalam sehari, mayoritas pekerja tidak menggunakan masker, status gizi pekerja mayoritas normal, pekerja terbanyak pernah merokok, kadar debu perusahaan tertinggi 223,30 mg/m3 dan lokasi pekerja bekerja mayoritas di area tambang kapur.
Kesimpulan: Kadar serum surfactant protein D (SP-D) pada pekerja tambang kapur memiliki median yaitu 45,40 (2,81-449,15) ng/mL.

Background: Pneumoconiosis is a disorder that occurs due to the accumulation of dust in the lungs which causes a tissue reaction to the dust, the main reaction due to dust exposure is fibrosis. Limestone mining workers are who is high risk to get occupational disease of the lung caused by silica dust. Surfactant protein D serum level increased in silica dust exposed workers. Surfactant protein D serum may be useful as biomarker for early detection in occupational lung disease.
Method: Design of this study was observational with cross sectional. Sampling of limestone mining workers was done by consecutive sampling. Total subject was 71, approach population of limestone exposed workers from November 2018-March 2019. SP-D serum levels was measured by ELISA method. Limestone exposed mining workers are worker in quarry and miller area. Results:. This study found that characteristic subjects dominated by male with the median of age was 42 years old and last education mostly elementary school. Majority duration of working <6 years and time working in a day >8 hours perday. The limestone mining workers mostly did not wore mask and had normal weight group. Majority limestone mining workers ever smoking. The highest dust level was 223.30 ng/m3 and the location of limestone mining workers mostly in quarry area. Conclusion: The SP-D serum levels in limestone mining workers had median 45,40 (2,81-449,15) ng"

"Ruang Lingkup dan Cara penelitian : Selama kehamilan, untuk memenuhi kebutuhan pertumbuhan janin yang optimal diperlukan adaptasi ibu. Salah satu di antaranya terjadi perubahan kadar hormon pertumbuhan plasenta (hPGH), diduga akan menyebabkan kadar glukosa dan asam amino ibu meningkat. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk melihat perbedaan kadar glukosa dan asam amino ibu dan bayi dengan berat lahir rendah (BBLR) dan berat lahir normal (BBLN). Penelitian ini berupa studi eksploratif pada dua kelompok ibu hamil aterm (38 - 40 minggu). Kelompok I, 15 ibu hamil yang mempunyai taksiran berat janin antara 2000 - 2500 g. Kelompok II, ibu hamil yang mempunyai taksiran berat janin antara 2501 - 3500 g. Pengambilan percontoh darah dari vena kubiti ibu dan darah talipusat untuk pemeriksaan kadar glukosa dan asam amino total. Selain itu juga diukur berat plasenta. Dilakukan perbandingan nilai rata-rata antara dua kelompok dengan batas kemaknaan α = 5%.
Hasil dan Kesimpulan : Kadar glukosa serum ibu kelompok BBLR = 112,4 mg/dl. Kelompok BBLN = 110,93 mg/dl. Kadar asam amino serum ibu kelompok BBLR = 5,62 mg/dl. Kelompok BBLN = 4,45 mg/dl. Kadar glukosa serum talipusat (bayi) kelompok BBLR = 97,13 mg/dl, kelompok BBLN = 107,33 mg/dl. Kadar asam amino serum talipusat kelompok BBLR = 6,33 mg/dl, kelompok BBLN = 4,79 mg/dl. Berat plasenta BBLR = 416,66 g. Berat plasenta BBLN = 483,33 g. Kadar glukosa dan asam amino ibu dan bayi dengan berat lahir rendah tidak berbeda dengan berat normal.

Serum Levels Of Glucose And Amino Acids Of Mothers And Babies Of Low Birth Weight And NormalScope and Method of Study : During pregnancy, the mother supplies all essential nutrients for fetal growth and development. Maternal adaptations occur to meet the need of optimal fetal growth. Metabolic function changes represent one of the remarkable maternal adaptations. Maternal serum levels of glucose and amino acids increase as a result of the increasing serum levels of human placenta growth hormone (hPGH). The purpose of this study was to compare the glucose and amino acids levels in the serum of mothers with low birth weight (LBW) and normal birth weight (NBW) babies and the cord blood serum of the LBW and NBW babies. The method used in this study was exploration on two pregnant women groups of 38 - 40 weeks of pregnancy. The first group consisted of 15 pregnant women with LBW babies (2000 - 2500 g), and the second group was a group of 15 pregnant women who have NBW babies (2501 - 3500 g). Placenta weight were also taken.
Result and Conclusion : The result of the study showed that, the mean serum glucose level of mothers with LBW babies was 112.4 mg/dl, while that of mothers with NBW babies was 110,93 mg/dl. The mean serum amino acids level of mothers with LBW babies was 5.62 mg/dl, and that of mothers with NBW was 4.45 mg/dl. The mean glucose value in placental cord of LBW babies was 97.13 mg/dl, while that of NBW babies was 107.33 mg/dl. While the mean serum amino acids levels of LBW babies were 6.33 mg/dl, and that of NEW babies was 4.79 mg/dl, The mean placenta weights of LBW babies was 416.66 g and that of NBW babies was 483.33 mg/dl. There was no significant difference in serum levels of glucose and amino acids in both low birth weight and normal.

"Latar Belakang : Gangguan Pemusatan Perhatian/ Hiperaktivitas (GPPH) merupakan gangguan psikiatrik yang sering dijumpai dan diduga terkait dengan gangguan fungsi eksekutif serta defisiensi mikronutrien salah satunya zat besi (feritin). Feritin diperkirakan terkait dengan fungsi eksekutif pada GPPH dalam aktivitasnya pada sistem dopaminergik.
Tujuan : Mengetahui hubungan antara kadar feritin dalam serum dan fungsi eksekutif pada anak dengan GPPH.
Metode : Desain penelitian ini adalah potong lintang memakai data sekunder, membandingkan rerata kadar feritin dalam serum 22 anak GPPH dengan gangguan fungsi eksekutif , 22 anak GPPH tanpa fungsi eksekutif, dan 22 anak Sehat yang berusia 6-12 tahun. Uji Kruskal Wallis digunakan untuk mengetahui perbedaan yang bermakna diantara ketiga kelompok tersebut dan uji analisis Mann-Whitney digunakan untuk mengetahui perbedaan bermakna pada kelompok anak GPPH. Penegakkan diagnosis GPPH memakai Mini-International Neuropsychiatric Interview-kid (MINI KID), Gangguan Fungsi Eksekutif ditentukan dengan Behavior Rating Inventory of Executive Function versi Bahasa Indonesia (BRIEF-BI).
Hasil : Nilai rerata feritin dalam serum sebesar 48,4 ng/mL pada kelompok anak GPPH tanpa gangguan fungsi eksekutif, sebesar 43,5 ng/mL pada kelompok anak GPPH dengan gangguan fungsi eksekutif, serta sebesar 44,0 ng/mL pada kelompok anak sehat. Dari uji Kruskal Wallis Tidak didapatkan perbedaan bermakna antara rerata kadar feritin pada kelompok anak GPPH tanpa gangguan fungsi eksekutif, kelompok anak GPPH dengan gangguan fungsi eksekutif, dan kelompok anak sehat (p > 0,05). Tidak didapatkan perbedaan yang signifikan juga antar kelompok GPPH dengan uji Mann-Whitney (p >0,05).
Kesimpulan : Pada penelitian ini tidak didapatkan adanya perbedaan rerata kadar feritin dalam serum antara GPPH dengan gangguan fungsi eksekutif, GPPH tanpa gangguan fungsi eksekutif, dan anak Sehat yang secara statistik signifikan. Diperlukan studi lebih lanjut untuk melihat peran feritin pada aktivitas dopaminergik otak pada anak GPPH.

Background : Attention Deficit/ Hiperactivity Disorders (ADHD) is a common psychiatric disorder and associated with impaired executive function as well as one of micronutrient deficiencies such iron (ferritin). It has been suggested that ferritin was associated with executive function in ADHD trough activity on the dopaminergic system.
Objectives : To find the relationship between ferritin serum levels and executive function in children with ADHD.
Methods : This study is cross-sectional using secondary data, comparing the mean levels of ferritin serum in 22 ADHD children with impaired executive function, 22 ADHD children with normal executive functions, and 22 healthy children aged 6-12 years. Kruskal Wallis test was performed to determine significant differences among the three groups and Mann-Whitney test analysis test was performed to determine significant differences between ADHD group. The diagnosis of ADHD was diagnosed by MINI KID, while executive function were assessed with BRIEF-Indonesian version.
Results : Mean values obtained in ferritin serum was 48.4 ng / mL in ADHD children with normal executive function, 43.5 ng / mL in ADHD children with impaired executive function, and 44.0 ng / mL in healthy children . With Kruskal Wallis test analysis, there were no significant differences between ferritin serum levels in the group of ADHD children with normal executive function, ADHD children with impaired executive function, and a group of healthy children (p > 0.05). There were also no significant differences between ADHD group with mann-Whitney test analysis (p >0.05).
Conclusions : In this study, there has been found no statistical significant differences in ferritin serum levels between ADHD with impaired executive function, ADHD with normal executive function, and healthy children. Further study is needed to look at the role of ferritin in dopaminergic activity within the brain of ADHD children.

"Proses inflamasi pada kanker kepala dan leher menyebabkan peningkatan sitokin proinflamasi dan sintesis protein fase akut c-reactive protein, CRP yang kemudian menyebabkan perubahan metabolisme dan anoreksia pada penderitanya. Seng merupakan zat gizi yang memiliki peran penting dalam menekan inflamasi, namun dilaporkan sekitar 65 pasien kanker kepala dan leher mengalami kekurangan seng. Penelitian potong lintang ini bertujuan mengetahui korelasi antara asupan seng dan kadar seng serum dengan kadar c-reactive protein CRP sebagai upaya menekan inflamasi sehingga dapat mengurangi morbiditas dan mortalitas pasien kanker kepala leher. Dari 49 subyek yang dikumpulkan secara konsekutif di Poliklinik Onkologi RS Kanker Dharmais, 67,3 adalah laki-laki, rentang usia subyek 46 ndash;65 tahun. Frekuensi terbanyak 65,3 adalah kanker nasofaring dan 69,4 berada pada stadium IV. Seratus persen subyek memiliki asupan seng dibawah nilai angka kecukupan gizi. Rerata kadar seng serum subyek adalah 9,83 2,62 mol/L. Sebanyak 51 subyek memiliki kadar CRP yang meningkat. Terdapat korelasi negatif yang lemah antara kadar seng dengan kadar CRP subyek r =-0,292, p =0,042, namun tidak terdapat korelasi antara asupan seng dengan kadar CRP subyek p =0,86.

The inflammatory process of head and neck cancer leads to increase the proinflammatory cytokines and the synthesis of c reactive protein CRP , which then causes metabolic alteration and anorexia in the patients. Zinc is one of nutrient that has an important role in suppressing inflammation. It is reported that about 65 of head and neck cancer patients have zinc deficiency. The aim of this cross sectional study is to determine the correlation between zinc intake and serum zinc levels with CRP level as an effort to reduce inflammation to reduce the morbidity and mortality of head and neck cancer patients. Subjects were collected by consecutive sampling in the Oncology Polyclinic Dharmais Cancer Hospital, from 49 subjects 67,3 were men, most subjects were in the age range between 46 ndash 65 years. The highest frequency 65,3 is nasopharyngeal cancer and 69,4 are already in stage IV. All subjects in this study have a zinc intake below the recommended dietary allowance RDA in Indonesia. The mean serum zinc level of the subjects was 9.83 2.62 mol L. Most subjects have elevated CRP levels. There was a weak significant negative correlation between zinc concentration and CRP levels of subjects r 0.292, p 0.042, but there was no correlation between zinc intake and CRP levels of subjects p 0.86. "
