Abstrak :
This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 6th Metadata and Semantics Research Conference, MTSR 2012, held in Cádiz, Spain, in November 2012. The 33 revised papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 85 submissions. The papers are organized in a general, main track and several others: a track on metadata and semantics for open access repositories, research information systems and infrastructures, a second on metadata and semantics for cultural collections and applications, and finally one on metadata and semantics for agriculture, food and environment.

Abstrak :
The authors present a methodology for formally describing security protocols and their environment. This methodology includes a model for describing protocols, their execution model, and the intruder model. The models are extended with a number of well-defined security properties, which capture the notions of correct protocols, and secrecy of data. The methodology can be used to prove that protocols satisfy these properties. Based on the model they have developed a tool set called Scyther that can automatically find attacks on security protocols or prove their correctness. In case studies they show the application of the methodology as well as the effectiveness of the analysis tool.

Abstrak :
This volume contains the lecture notes of the 8th Reasoning Web Summer School 2012, held in Vienna, Austria, in September 2012, in the form of worked out tutorial papers on the various topics that have been covered in that school. The 2012 summer school program had been put together under the general leitmotif of advanced query answering topics for the Web. The idea was to address on the one hand foundations and computational aspects of query answering, in formalisms, methods and technology, and on the other hand to also spotlight some rising or emerging application fields relating to the semantic web in which query answering plays a role, and which by their nature also pose new challenges and problems for this task, linked stream processing, geospatial data, semantic wikis, and argumentation on the web fall in this category.

Abstrak :
This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the Third Knowledge Technology Week, KTW 2011, held in Kajang, Malaysia, in July 2011. The 29 revised full papers presented together with 9 short papers were carefully reviewed and selected from 105 submissions. KTW 2011 consisted of a number of co-located events. This volume contains selected papers from the proceedings of the Third Malaysian Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence (MJCAI 2011), the Third Semantic Technology and Knowledge Engineering (STAKE 2011), and the International Workshop on Semantic Agents (IWSA 2012).

Abstrak :
In this book common sense computing techniques are further developed and applied to bridge the semantic gap between word-level natural language data and the concept-level opinions conveyed by these. In particular, the ensemble application of graph mining and multi-dimensionality reduction techniques is exploited on two common sense knowledge bases to develop a novel intelligent engine for open-domain opinion mining and sentiment analysis. The proposed approach, termed sentic computing, performs a clause-level semantic analysis of text, which allows the inference of both the conceptual and emotional information associated with natural language opinions and, hence, a more efficient passage from (unstructured) textual information to (structured) machine-processable data.

Abstrak :
In this book, present an extensive overview of the work done in Semantic Search and other related areas. They explore different technologies and solutions in depth, making their collection a valuable and stimulating reading for both academic and industrial researchers. The book is divided into three parts. The first introduces the readers to the basic notions of the Web of Data. The second part is dedicated to Web Search. It presents different types of search, like the exploratory or the path-oriented, alongside methods for their efficient and effective implementation. The focus of the third part is on linked data, and more specifically, on applying ideas originating in recommender systems on linked data management, and on techniques for the efficiently querying answering on linked data.
