Abstrak :
Tesis ini membahas tentang timbulnya proses kepercayaan antara pemulung dan pengepul. Kepercayaan yang berkembang tersebut diketahui dapat membentuk kapital sosial di dalam hubungan kerja antara pemulung dan pengepul. Elemen kapital sosial selain kepercayaan juga ditemukan dalam penelitian ini, diantaranya unsur jaringan dan norma yang digunakan untuk memperlancar aktivitas jual beli antara pemulung dan pengepul. Fokus penelitian ini adalah unsur percaya antara pemulung dan pengepul dan kontribusinya unsur percaya tersebut pada kelancaran aktivitas jual beli antara pemulung dan pengepul. Rasa saling percaya antara keduanya juga dianggap penting dalam rangka meningkatkan kapital sosial. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa dalam hubungan kerja antara pemulung dan pengepul ini besar dipengaruhi oleh rasa saling percaya. Hubungan kerja kedua aktor ini dapat langgeng selain karena mendapat mutual benefit, keduanya juga sudah memiliki rasa saling percaya. Rasa percaya yang terjadi di antara kedua aktor semakin kuat, maka dapat meningkatkan unsur jaringan dan melonggarkan unsur norma, sehingga kapital sosial dapat dikatakan meningkat.

This thesis discusses the emergence of a trust process between scavengers and collectors. This growing belief is known to form social capital in the working relationship between scavengers and collectors. Elements of social capital other than trust are also found in this study, including the elements of networks and norms used to facilitate buying and selling activities between scavengers and collectors. The focus of this study is the element of trust between scavengers and collectors and the contribution of these elements of trust in the smoothness of buying and selling activities between scavengers and collectors. The mutual trust between the two is also considered important in order to improve social capital. The results showed that in the working relationship between scavengers and collectors is greatly influenced by mutual trust. The working relationship of these two actors can be lasting apart from having mutual benefit, they also have mutual trust. The trust between the two actors is getting stronger, it can increase the elements of the network and loosen the elements of the norm, so that social capital can be said to increase.
