Abstrak :
[This book summarizes the role and the possibilities of catalysis in the production of new energy carriers and in the utilization of different energy sources. The main goal of this work is to go beyond those results discussed in recent literature by identifying new developments that may lead to breakthroughs in the production of alternative energy. The book discusses the use of biomass or biomass derived materials as energy sources, hydrogen formation in methanol and ethanol reforming, biodiesel production, and the utilization of biogases. Perkembangan harga dari PV belakangan ini telah membuat teknologi PV semakin terjangkau. Harga dari modul PV di US sudah menurun dari 60c/watt menjadi 40c/watt dalam 3 bulan belakangan ini., dan diperkirakan akan semakin menurun sampai sekitar 35c/watt kedepannya. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mencari karakteristik dari rugi-rugi pada saluran yang disebabkan oleh penetrasi PV dan mendapatkan lokasi optimum dan kapasitas PV optimum. Simulasi alliran daya dilakukan pada grid pulau sumba timur menggunaka software DIgSILENT Power factory 15.1. Recent price wars of the PV technology have made PV technology become more accessible. The price of solar modules in the US has already fallen from around 60c watt to 40c watt in the last quarter alone, and is expected to fall further to around 35c watt in the current quarter. The objectives of this research are to get the characteristic of line losses caused by PV penetration and get the optimum location and optimum PV penetration percentage. Load flow simulation was done on East Sumba Grid by using software DIgSILENT Powerfactory 15.1. Installation of PV in radial distribution system with optimum location and optimum percentage penetration able to decrease the active power losses up to 50 . Optimal location and penetration capacity percentage for radial distribution system in East Sumba Waingapu System Grid located in Kambajawa bus with 40 Penetration.

The importance of biogas energy has risen manifold and has become universal. This is due to the realization that biogas capture and utilization has great potential in controlling global warming. By capturing biogas wherever it is formed, we not only tap a source of clean energy, but we also prevent the escape of methane to the atmosphere. Given that methane has 25 times greater global warming potential than CO2, methane capture through biogas energy in this manner can contribute substantially towards global warming control.
