"It is cross-linguistically defined that adjective is a word category that typically denotes quality and attributes. This category basically falls into semantic properties denoting age, dimension, values, and colours. They also indicate human propensities, physical properties, and speed. Syntactically, adjective typically functions as noun modifiers. However, many adjectives also share features with verbs and/or nouns. This makes adjectives not easy to define. Therefore, morphological and syntactic accounts are required, in addition to semantics, to define the prototypical characteristics of adjectives. This paper has shown that majority of lexemes denoting adjectival properties in Dhao share features with verbs. Although the prefix pa- can be attached to verbs and adjectives to generate causative meaning, adjectives are confined only to the second verb in serial verb construction, instead of being the predicate heads. Further, only four adjectives can function as noun modifiers in their bare forms. These latter adjectives are considered as pure or simple adjectives, while the other nine qualifying for adjectives as “recategorized” adjectives."

"Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat bagaimana pengaruh batasan antarkelompok dan identitas target terhadap perilaku menolong antarkelompok agama. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini adalah 74 orang mahasiswa yang beragama Islam di Universitas Indonesia. Terdapat dua manipulasi kondisi batasan antarkelompok, yaitu kentara dan semu. Perilaku menolong diukur melalui skala perilaku menolong berorientasi kemandirian dan ketergantungan yang akan diberikan kepada target yang berasal dari ingroup (sesama orang Islam) atau outgroup (orang Kristen) dalam empat ilustrasi kasus. Hasil dari pengujian MANOVA menunjukkan tidak ada pengaruh batasan antarkelompok dan identitas target terhadap perilaku menolong.

This study aims to see how the influence of group boundaries and group identity on helping behavior between religious groups. Participants in this study were 74 Muslim students at a university in University of Indonesia. Researchers provide treatment to manipulate the boundaries between groups in two conditions (salient versus not salient). Helping behavior was measured through helping behavior -oriented scale (autonomous and dependency-oriented helping) will be given to targets derived from the ingroup (fellow Muslims) or outgroup (Christians) in the four illustrative cases . The statistical test by MANOVA showed no effect of group boundaries and target‟s identity on helping behavior."
