ABSTRAK
Manajemen proyek semakin dikenal dan banyak digunakan oleh berbagai organisasi untuk memperoleh keuntungan kompetitif. Menurut survei yang dilakukan oleh Standish Group International mengenai Teknologi Informasi TI dan proyek pengembangan perangkat lunak, di tahun 2015 hanya 29 proyek berakhir dengan kesuksesan dan sisanya 71 dikategorikan gagal. Faktor keahlian manajemen proyek merupakan salah satu faktor kesuksesan pelaksanaan proyek. Pada faktor tersebut, manajer proyek yang baik, mampu menunjukkan kepemimpinan dengan tetap mempertahankan tujuan utama. Proyek akan gagal jika manajer proyek tidak memiliki kepemimpinan. Ketidakberhasilan penerapan kepemimpinan pada tingkat dunia menjadi dasar penelitian ini dilaksanakan. Hal ini dilakukan agar para manajer proyek TI di Indonesia memiliki kesiapan dalam menjalankan kepemimpinan yang efektif.Data yang terkumpul melalui survei sebanyak 85 responden yang diolah menggunakan Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling PLS-SEM . Metode ini digunakan karena tidak membutuhkan ukuran sampel yang besar dan model penelitian yang bersifat eksplorasi. Para responden yang dipilih dari survei adalah praktisi yang memiliki pengalaman manajemen proyek TI di Indonesia, yaitu manajer proyek dan anggotanya.Penelitian ini menghasilkan 2 faktor yang mempengaruhi penerapan efektifitas kepemimpinan di Indonesia antara lain Idealized Influence dan Inspirational Motivation. Faktor-faktor ini berasal dari gaya kepemimpinan transformational. Hal ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa kepemimpinan tersebut masih memiliki peran penting untuk dimiliki manajer proyek TI di Indonesia.
ABSTRACT
Project management is recognized and widely used by organizations to gain competitive advantage. According to a survey conducted by Standish Group International on Information Technology IT and software development projects, by 2015 only 29 of projects ended with success and the remaining 71 were categorized as failures. The project management expertise factor is one of the success factors of project implementation. On these factors, good project managers, able to demonstrate leadership while maintaining the ultimate goal. The project will fail if the project manager does not have leadership. The failure to apply leadership at the world level is the basis of this research. The implementations of this research for the project manager in Indonesia have the readiness to run effective leadership.Data collected through a survey of 85 respondents who processed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling PLS SEM . This method is used because it does not require large sample size and exploratory research model. The respondents selected from the survey are practitioners who have IT project management experience in Indonesia, ie project managers and their members.This research produces two factors that influence the implementation of leadership effectiveness in Indonesia such as Idealized Influence and Inspirational Motivation. These factors are derived from transformational leadership styles. It can be concluded that the leadership still has an important role for IT project managers in Indonesia.

Proyek adalah proses implementasi atas cipta, karsa dan karya, berupa rangkaian aktivitas dari satu proses kegiatan yang bersifat khusus, bertarget biaya, waktu, kuantitas (deliverables), kualitas disamping target lain yang terkait dengan aspek bisnis dan aspek lingkungan hidup. Manajemen Proyek adalah penguasaan atas kemampuan dan kompetensi keahlian dalam pengelolaan proyek yang berbasis pengetahuan dan ketrampilan, disamping dipunyainya kematangan sikap mental (attitude), dapat dipercaya (credible), serta dipahami dan dikuasainya aspek hukum (legal), aturan permainan (rule & regulation of the games), budaya masyarakat setempat (cultures) disamping dikuasainya kemampuan berkomunikasi dalam bahasa yang disyaratkan. Disamping dikuasainya kemampuan dan kompetensi keahlian seperti tertuang dalam 9 key areas dan 8 optional areas secara knowledge & skill based, maka pemahaman dan penguasaan aspek kepemimpinan (leadership) akan sangat dominan dalam menentukan tingkat kesuksesan bagi seorang Manajer. Proyek Profesional dalam tugasnya mengelola proyek, sehingga proyek dapat selesai on-time, within budget berdasarkan kriteria yang telah ditetapkan sebelumnya. Untuk itu perlu analisis variabel-variabel mana yang dapat mempengaruhi tingkat kesuksesan tersebut. ...... Project is an implemental on process of property right, in term of activities networking from special process activity, with time, cost, quantity, quality targets, beside other target such as business and environment impact. Project Management is an ability to cove capabilities and expert competencies in project management with knowledge and skill based, beside attitude, crediblility, legal, rule & regulation of the games and cultures beside communication as pre-requisite. Beside ability to cope capabilities and expert competencies such as 9 key areas and 8 optional areas in knowledge and skill based, leadership is one of the domain factor also to rate performance of Professional Project Manager in managing project based, on time, budget, quality and quantity and also as pre-requisite criteria.

ABSTRACT
In a software development project, the project manager has a strong role in managing the team to achieve project success. Managing a project team is different from managing team in usual business activity because sometimes it needs different approach to match the project?s characteristic. According to PMI (2008), a project has a limited timeline (temporary) and unique requirements. Project manager?s leadership style was the main focus in this research that had influences on leadership outcome (effectiveness, extra effort, and satisfaction). There was also a finding about team?s work environment captured while they were in a software development project. Based on personal interview with 14 employees in PT Quadra Solution, they perceived that there were some problems toward their project managers. This research was addressed to examine the leadership styles of project managers and the outcome related to their leadership styles in this company and also to see the characteristic of the team?s current work environment while they were in the software development project. The data were collected using questionnaires, Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire (MLQ) and Work Environment Scale (WES). The result of leadership style was the project manager implemented idealized behavior, idealized attribute and management by exception active as perceived by the team members. The leadership trait that was the most significant in influencing the outcome, effectiveness, was laissez-faire (negative). The most significant in influencing the outcome, extra effort, was individualized consideration. The most significant in influencing the outcome, satisfaction, was idealized behavior. The work environment perceived by the team members was characterized by relationship dimensions (involvement, peer cohesion, and supervisor support) and some personal growth dimensions (autonomy and work pressure).
