Hasil dari kajian ini ingin memperlihatkan bahwa proses pembuatan berita oleh media (opini media) terhadap suatu peristiwa kejahatan dapat mengonstruksi persepsi masyarakat terhadap kasus tersebut, yang dapat berujung pada munculnya praktik trial by the press ......Mass media has a strong influence in society, the media can provide its own opinion on an event especially crime, Vincent Sacco (1955) explained that the media can contextualize a crime through three main aspects including; Collecting, Sorting, and Contextualization. These three aspects attempt to explain the contextualization process in the form of a frame for the events the media wants to raise. One example of a case that has elements of media framing is the murder case of Mirna Wayan Salihin using cyanide in coffee, with the accused Jessica Kumala Wongso. Several studies in one level explained that in the course of this case, there was a framing made by the media against Jessica. In identifying the frames, a frame analysis tool was created, one of which is the Zhongdang Pan and Gerald M. Kosicki model. Pan and Kosicki use this tool to identify how the reality of a social problem issue is constructed by the media. The results of this study want to show that the process of making news by the media (media opinion) on a crime can construct public perceptions of the case, which can lead to the emergence of trial by the press practice

Proses digitisasi di PIK akan dijelaskan melalui pedoman The International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA): Guidelines for Planning the Digitization of Rare Book and Manuscript Collections Tahun 2014. ......This study discusses the digitization process of newspaper archives implemented by Pusat Informasi Kompas ((abbreviated as PIK) as an effort to preserve the collection. Digitization is a concrete measure implemented by PIK in service activities to minimize the direct use of original collections to reduce any damage. The digitization aims to preserve the informational content and utility value of the collection, thereby extending its lifespan. This study purposed to identify the digitization process of the Surat Kabar Kompas as part of the collection preservation efforts at PIK. This study use qualitative methods, through interviews and observations. The results of this research indicate that PIK has implemented the digitization of newspapers through the photography method for the media transfer step, furthermore, they have set up a web-based system for storing digital collections. Abstrak :
ABSTRACT The television serial Siung Macan Kombang (The Panthers Fang), produced and broadcast by TVRI Stasiun Yogyakarta in 1992, has lived on in the collective memory of Javanese television audiences. Likewise, Indosiars Javanese drama programmes, broadcast in the mid 1990s, retrieve reminiscences of past times, when private broadcasters served specific ethnic and linguistic audiences with local entertainment linked to tradition. However, since most Indonesian television stations have not archived their audiovisual collections, the public no longer has access to audiovisual content from a deeper past. Hence these cultural resources have become intangible heritage; when the programmes cease to be recollected in tales and blogs, they vanish from Indonesian media history and fall into oblivion. This lack of archives affects historical research significantly. As I demonstrate in the main part of this article, resources like scripts and the print press could assist television scholars to approximate historical broadcasts and broadcasting history as closely as possible. Nevertheless, however useful they are, they do not disclose the performative and televisual aspects of the programmes. To demonstrate the value and riches of audiovisual archives, in the final part I show how a small collection of Javanese language television programmes in a Dutch university library could reveal a wealth of information concerning performance on Indonesian television and about television itself.
