Pisang (Musa Acuminata) merupakan jenis buah yang mengandung banyak senyawa kimia yang bersifat antioksidan dan antibakteri, salah satunya adalah pisang raja (Musa AAB ?Pisang Raja'). Pisang raja merupakan kultivar lokal dan populer di Indonesia, mudah ditemukan, memiliki harga yang relatif murah, serta merupakan jenis pisang yang bisa langsung dimakan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk membandingkan akivitas antioksidan ekstrak daging pisang raja dengan antioksidan lain yaitu vitamin A, vitamin C, dan katekin melalui penghitungan bilangan peroksida. Bilangan peroksida ditentukan dengan cara titrasi iodometri. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan yang bermakna pada bilangan peroksida yang terbentuk pada sampel minyak saja dan minyak yang ditambah katekin jika dibandingkan dengan sampel minyak yang ditambah dengan ekstrak daging pisang raja. Namun pada sampel minyak yang ditambah dengan vitamin A dan C tidak menunjukkan adanya bilangan peroksida yang berbeda bermakna jika dibandingkan dengan sampel minyak yang ditambah dengan ekstrak daging pisang raja. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut dapat dikatakan efek antioksidan ekstrak daging pisang raja sama baiknya dengan vitamin A dan vitamin C namun tidak sebaik katekin.
Banana (Musa Acuminata) is a type of fruit that contains a lot of chemical substances that work as antioxidant and antibacterial, one of these is ?pisang raja'. ?Pisang Raja' is a local cultivar banana that is popular among Indonesian which is easy to get with relevant price, and it is a type of banana that can be served directly. The aim of this research is to compare the antioxidant effect of Pisang Raja's pulp extract with other antioxidant such as vitamin A, vitamin C and catechin by calculating the peroxide number. Peroxide number was determined by iodometri titration method. The result showed that there is a significance difference in peroxide number which formed in oil sample and in oil which has been added with catechin if it is compared to oil which has been added with Pisang Raja's pulp extract sample. However, in oil which has been added with vitamin A and C showed no significance difference in their peroxide number if it is compared to oil which has been added with Pisang Raja's pulp extract sample. Based on this result, it can be concluded that the antioxidant effect of Pisang Raja's pulp extract is as good as vitamin A and C but not as good as catechin.

pisang raja bulu is one of the most important bananas in Indonesia. However,, this plant low tolerance to wilt disease, caused by fusarium oxysporum f. cubense. Its mass cultivation is inhibited by the absence of variety tolerant to the disease. A wide range of genetic variability will be needed if selection for novel characters is to be conducted, especially when there is no source of resistance gene available for breeding materials. This research consisted of callus induction from primary explant, induction of somaclonal variation using gamma iradiation, and in vitro selection using fusaric acid, followed by regeneration and acclimatization of selected plantlets. The media applied for callus induction was MS (Murashige and skoog. 1962) +2,4-D 1 and 3 mg/l + NAA 0 and 0,1 mg/l and 2,4-D 5 mg/l + BA 0,5 mg/l + casein hidrolysate (CH) 500 mg/l. The applied gamma irradiation dosage were 0, and 0,1 mg/l and 2,4-D 5 mg/l + BA 0,5 mg/l + casein hidrolysate (CH) 500 mg/l. The applied gamma irradiation dosage were 0, 5.0, 7.5, 10 and 15 Gy. The irradiated cali was subsequently subcultures on selection media i.e., MS containing fusaric acid at 30 and 45 mg/l. The living calli was then regenerated on media containing BA, TDZ, eith or without proline and arginine. In addition, MS + kinetin 5 mg/l + 1AA 0,2 mg/l was applied for shoot development. The result showed that the most suitable callus induction media for pisang raja bulu was MS +2,4-D 5 mg/l +BA 0,5 mg/l +CH 500 mg/l. The gamma irradiation of 10 Gy produced somaclone lines which were able to proliferate bud nodules on selection media containing fusaric acid at 30 and 45 mg/l. The media for shoot development was MS + kinetin 5 mg/l + 1AA 0,2 mg/l. Plantlet obtained form the in vitro were then successfully acclimatized in the green house.

Pisang Raja Sere (Musa AAB ?Pisang Raja Sere?) memiliki banyak kandungan gizi termasuk senyawa antioksidan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membandingkan aktivitas antioksidan pada ekstrak daging pisang Raja Sere dengan vitamin A, vitamin C dan katekin. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimental melalui penghitungan bilangan peroksida. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa bilangan peroksida sampel minyak yang ditambahkan ekstrak daging pisang Raja Sere, lebih kecil dibandingkan sampel minyak yang ditambahkan vitamin A maupun vitamin C, namun lebih besar dibandingkan dengan sampel minyak yang ditambahkan katekin. Secara statistik, perbedaan bilangan peroksida ini bermakna karena nilai p<0,05; sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa aktivitas antioksidan ekstrak daging pisang Raja Sere terbukti lebih baik dibandingkan vitamin A dan vitamin C, tetapi tidak sebaik katekin. ......Raja Sere banana (Musa AAB ?Pisang Raja Sere?) contains a lot of dietary components include antioxidant substances. This research was aimed to compare the antioxidant activity between Raja Sere banana pulp extract, vitamin A, vitamin C, and catechin. This research used experimental method through peroxide value counting. This research?s results showed that average peroxide value of the oil added with Raja Sere banana pulp extract sample was less than the oil sample which was added with either vitamin A or vitamin C, but bigger than the oil sample which was added with catechin. Statistically, this comparison is valuable because the ?p value? is <0,05. Thus, it could be concluded that Raja Sere banana pulp?s antioxidant activity is better than vitamin A and vitamin C, but not as good as catechin.
