Abstrak :
Dalam menjaga nilai informasi dari sebuah arsip, perlu dilakukan tindakan pelestarian dengan metode tertentu. Fotografi sebagai sebuah arsip yang memiliki nilai informasi perlu mendapatkan perlakuan khusus mengingat sifat fotografi yang berbeda dengan arsip lainnya. Oleh karena itu diperlukan langkah khusus dan prosedur yang tepat guna menjaga nilai informasi yang terdapat dalam arsip fotografi. Pusat Dokumentasi dan Informasi Kebudayaan Minangkabau (PDIKM) sebagai salah satu lembaga informasi merupakan lembaga yang berperan dalam upaya preservasi arsip fotografi yang ada pada lembaga tersebut. Berdasarkan teori Piramida Preservasi yang mencakup preventive conservation, passive conservation, active conservation, dan restoration, penulis ingin melihat komponen apa yang telah dilakukan atau belum dilakukan oleh PDIKM dalam mempreservasi koleksi fotografi. Serta berdasarkan fungsionalitas PDIKM yang juga menjadi objek wisata, juga terdapat komponen preservasi yang kurang diperhatikan dan perlu ditingkatkan yang meliputi kebijakan preservasi, anggaran preservasi, pencatatan secara berkala kondisi lingkungan tenpat penyimpanan fotografi, serta kegiatan restorasi. ......In maintaining the value of information from an archive, it is necessary to take action with certain methods. Photography as an archive which contains information value needs to be treated with some special treatment considering the trait of photography that is different from other archives. Therefore, distinct and appropriate procedures are needed to maintain the value of the information contained in photographic archives. The Minangkabau Cultural Information and Documentation Center (PDIKM) as one of the information institutions is an institution that plays a role in efforts to preserve the existing photographic archives at the institution. Based on the theory of the Pyramid of Preservation, including preventive preservation, passive preservation, active preservation, and restoration Author would like to find what component those have or have not been done by PDIKM in preservating the photographic collection, Also, based on the functionality of the PDIKM which is also a tourist attraction, there are preservation components that are not being considered and need to be improved, such as the preservation policy, preservation budget, periodical checking on the storage where the photographic archive is restored, and restoration.

Abstrak :
Preservasi arsip adalah upaya pencegahan kerusakan pada arsip dengan melakukan perlindungan pada kondisi fisik arsip dan melakukan restorasi pada bagian fisik arsip yang mengalami kerusakan. Apabila preservasi arsip tidak dilakukan secara optimal, maka arsip dapat mengalami kerusakan. Penelitian ini mengidentifikasi penanganan arsiparis dalam upaya preservasi kondisi fisik arsip dinamis konvensional Unit Kemahasiswaan FIA UI, menggunakan metode wawancara, observasi, dan kajian dokumen yang dikaitkan dengan survei preservasi arsip sesuai panduan Ritzenthaler (2010) dan upaya preservasi terhadap arsip dinamis konvensional Unit Kemahasiswaan FIA UI berdasarkan piramida preservasi yang dirancang oleh Teygeler (2001). Pengambilan data dilakukan bulan Februari hingga Juni 2023. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar kegiatan preservasi arsip Unit Kemahasiswaan FIA UI telah dilakukan sesuai dengan komponen yang terdapat dalam piramida preservasi, tetapi masih terdapat beberapa kekurangan dalam upaya penerapan preservasi arsip dinamis Unit Kemahasiswaan FIA UI yang perlu diperbaiki yaitu tidak adanya kebijakan khusus terkait preservasi arsip, tidak stabilnya suhu AC dan kelembaban ruangan, tidak adanya rak khusus untuk penyimpanan arsip di ruang Unit Kemahasiswaan, beberapa arsip belum ditata sesuai tahun penciptaan dan kode klasifikasi, dan restorasi belum dilakukan karena kurangnya sarana dan prasarana untuk melakukan restorasi. ......Archive preservation is an effort to prevent damage to archives by protecting the physical condition of the archives and restoring the physical parts of the archives that are damaged. If archive preservation is not carried out optimally, archives may be damaged. This study identified the handling of archivists in an effort to preserve the physical condition of the conventional dynamic archives of the FIA UI Student Affairs Unit, using interviews, observation, document review methods associated with archive preservation surveys according to Ritzenthaler's guidelines (2010) and preservation efforts of conventional dynamic archives of the FIA UI Student Affairs Unit based on preservation pyramid designed by Teygeler (2001). Data collection was carried out from February to June 2023. The results of the study show that most of the FIA UI Student Unit archive preservation activities have been carried out in accordance with the components contained in the preservation pyramid, but there are still some deficiencies in efforts to implement FIA UI Student Unit dynamic archive preservation that need to be corrected, namely no archive preservation policy, unstable room temperature and humidity, some archives have not been arranged according to the classification code, and restoration has not been carried out.

Preservasi terhadap arsip foto dilakukan untuk menjaga kondisi fisik arsip foto tersebut agar nilai informasi yang terkandung dalam arsip foto tersebut dapat diakses. Berdasarkan nilai informasi dan karakteristik fisik dari arsip foto, dibutuhkan upaya yang berbeda dari arsip konvensional untuk menjaga kondisi fisik dan informasi yang terdapat di dalamnya. Penelitian ini membahas mengenai upaya preservasi terhadap arsip foto oleh Dinas Perpustakaan dan Kearsipan Kota Padang Panjang. Berdasarkan teori piramida preservasi menurut Teygeler (2001) terdiri dari preventive conservation, passive conservation, active conservation, dan restoration oleh Dinas Perpustakaan dan Kearsipan Kota Padang Panjang dalam melakukan kegiatan preservasi arsip foto telah melakukan komponen upaya preservasi yang termasuk ke dalam piramida preservasi, namun masih terdapat beberapa komponen yang perlu dievaluasi untuk kegiatan preservasi pada lembaga tersebut. ......Preservation of the photo archive is carried out to maintain the physical condition of the photo archive so that the value of the information contained in the photo archive can be accessed. Beberapa buku terbitan Balai Pustaka merupakan karya intelektual anak bangsa sejak pendudukan Belanda (1917), Jepang (1942) hingga pasca kemerdekaan Indonesia. Koleksi tersebut masih dapat ditemui di Perpustakaan Heritage Balai Pustaka. Mengingat kondisi fisik yang menua, perlu penanganan khusus. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kegiatan yang dilakukan oleh Perpustakaan Heritage Balai Pustaka dalam merawat dan memelihara koleksi buku langka, baik fisik maupun isinya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi wawancara, observasi dan analisis dokumen. Pemilihan informan penelitian dilakukan dengan teknik purposive sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa berdasarkan teori Piramida Preservasi, Perpustakaan Heritage Balai Pustaka belum melakukan kegiatan pelestarian fisik koleksi buku langka melalui kegiatan konservasi aktif dan restorasi. Akan tetapi, perpustakaan melakukan upaya penting untuk melestarikan nilai yang terkandung dalam koleksi buku langka dengan digitalisasi. Kebijakan preservasi, anggaran, dan sumber daya manusia menjadi kendala dalam pelaksanaan kegiatan pelestarian. ......Books published by Balai Pustaka are intellectual works of the nation's children since the Dutch occupation (1917), Japan (1942) until post-independent era. It can still be found in the Balai Pustaka Heritage Library. Considering the physical condition that are aging, special treatment is needed. This study aims to determine the activities carried out by the Balai Pustaka Heritage Library in caring and maintaining a collection of rare books, both physically and the contents. The research method used is qualitative with a case study approach. Data collection techniques include interviews, observation and document analysis. Research informants were selected by purposive sampling technique. The results showed that based on the Preservation Pyramid theory, Balai Pustaka Heritage Library has not carried out physical preservation activities for rare book collection through active conservation and restoration activities. However, the library has made an effort to preserve the values contained in the collection of rare books by digitizing them. Preservation policies, budgets, and human resources are obstacles to the implementation of preservation activities.
