Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is a valuable heritage of Chinese civilization with a long history. Originating in China, TCM spread through the Silk Road to Southeast Asia and other parts of the world. In Southeast Asia, TCM has not only taken root but also demonstrated unique cross-cultural characteristics. Based on theories of intercultural communication, acculturation, and innovation diffusion, this study analyzes the transformation of TCM from traditional practices to a modern medical system. Through case studies in countries such as Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, and Singapore, the research reveals the interplay between local acceptance, policy frameworks, and the context of the Belt and Road Initiative. The findings show that TCM plays a crucial role in meeting healthcare needs in the region but also strengthens cultural ties between China and Southeast Asian countries through cultural adaptation. Furthermore, the dissemination and transformation of TCM promote cross-sectoral collaboration and cultural integration, contributing uniquely to regional integration processes and showcasing its distinct value and development potential in the context of globalization."
