Abstrak :
Kebutuhan informasi setiap individu berbeda-beda tergantung dari berbagai macam faktor, seperti contohnya latar belakang individu, lingkungan dan pekerjaan. Dalam melakukan pekerjaannya, pekerja notaris memiliki kebutuhan informasi perilaku pencarian informasi tersendiri. Suatu teori yang dikembangkan oleh David Ellis membagi mengenai karakteristik perilaku pencarian informasi yaitu: 1) Starting, 2) Chaining, 3) Browsing, 4) Differentiating, 5) Monitoring, 6) Extracting, 7) Verifying dan 8) Ending, teori ini digunakan untuk menganalisis perilaku pencarian informasi di kantor notaris. Dari hasil penelitian ditemukan bahwa pekerja notaris mempunyai kebutuhan informasi yang berasal dari pengguna jasa, seperti data-data pengguna jasa perorangan maupun perusahaan yang digunakan untuk menyelesaikan suatu akta. ......The information needs of each individual vary depending on various factors, such as the background of individuals, the environment and the work. In doing their work, notary workers have their own way of searching informations. A theory developed by David Ellis divides the characteristics of information search behaviours, namely: 1) Starting, 2) Chaining, 3) Browsing, 4) Differentizing, 5) Monitoring, 6) Extracting, 7) Verifying and 8) Ending, this theory is used to analyse information search behaviour in the notary office. From the results of the study it was found that notariy workers have information needs derived from service users, such as data on individual and company service users used to complete their work.
