Metode Conjugate Gradient merupakan salah satu cara untuk optimumkan fungsi f(x) untuk x tanpa kendala (unconstrained optimisation). Optimisasinya dijalankan secara iteratif dengan bantuan garis-garis arah yang saling conjugate. Karena metode ini sangat efisien dalam pemanfaatan storage, maka timbullah usaha untuk mengembangkannya. Salah satu pengembangannya adalah dengan menghubungkan metode CG ini dengan metode BFGS, yang kemudian menghasilkan suatu metode baru yang disebut VSGCG.

This concise, readable book provides a sampling of the very large, active, and expanding field of artificial neural network theory. It considers select areas of discrete mathematics linking combinatorics and the theory of the simplest types of artificial neural networks. Neural networks have emerged as a key technology in many fields of application, and an understanding of the theories concerning what such systems can and cannot do is essential. The author discusses interesting connections between special types of Boolean functions and the simplest types of neural networks. Some classical results are presented with accessible proofs, together with some more recent perspectives, such as those obtained by considering decision lists. In addition, probabilistic models of neural network learning are discussed. Graph theory, some partially ordered set theory, computational complexity, and discrete probability are among the mathematical topics involved. Pointers to further reading and an extensive bibliography make this book a good starting point for research in discrete mathematics and neural networks.

Suatu fenomena yang menarik dalam suatu komunikasi suara adalah adanya jeda dalam pembicaraan yaitu kondisi dimana pihak pertama sebagai pembicara dan pihak kedua sebagai pendengar dan juga sebaliknya. Sementara itu, dalam sistem komunikasi semua informasi akan dilewatkan tanpa terkecuali, baikitu yang berisikan data ataupun tidak. Dengan adanya pekembangan teknologi, dalam hal ini Digital Signal Processing dapat dikembangkan menjadi suatu perangkat optimisasi yang dapat membedakan suatu kanal suara berisikan informasi atau tidak berisi informasi. Teknologi optimisasi yang berkembang sekarang ini dapat di aplikasikan kedalam suatu jaringan telekomunikasi. Sehingga lebar pita yang digunakan sebagai media penyampaian data dapat dihemat. Penghematan ini sangat penting, karena adanya keterbatasan sumber daya dalam hal ini frekuensi. Semakin besar lebar pita yang akan digunakan, maka semakin tinggi pula frekuensi kerjanya. Indosat sebagai salah satu oprator GSM di Indonesia dan penyedia layanan satelit, berupaya untuk memperluas jaringan dengan keterbatasan sumber daya yang ada. Frekuensi transponder yang semakin kecil sebisa mungkin di optimalkan penggunaanya agar perluasan jaringan dapat berlanjut tanpa adanya pengurangan kualitas di jaringan yang sudah ada.
Great phenomenon in voice communication is silence condition during conversation where another people become listening and the other is speaking. In other hand, communication system pass all the information to transmision link without filtering. Thanks to development of Digital Signal Processing for the main idea optimization technique that filtering information in voice channel. Optimization techniques become implementation in telecommunication network to reduce bandwidth for transmission. This saving become more important since the resources is limited in this case frequency. Indosat, one of the GSM provider in Indonesia and also satellite provider make serious effort to reduce the bandwidth consumption in order to expand the network with this limited resources. Palapa C2 transponder bandwidth remains small space to provide all the network demand. And for the solution, Abis optimizer equipment become a solution for this problem. Others issue is how to maintain the quality of the existing network and keep the network operational running well.

This book provides a wealth of practical guidance on how to design parts to gain the maximum benefit from what additive manufacturing (AM) can offer. It begins by describing the main AM technologies and their respective advantages and disadvantages. It then examines strategic considerations in the context of designing for additive manufacturing (DfAM), such as designing to avoid anisotropy, designing to minimize print time, and post-processing, before discussing the economics of AM. The following chapters dive deeper into computational tools for design analysis and the optimization of AM parts, part consolidation, and tooling applications. They are followed by an in-depth chapter on designing for polymer AM and applicable design guidelines, and a chapter on designing for metal AM and its corresponding design guidelines. These chapters also address health and safety, certification and quality aspects. A dedicated chapter covers the multiple post-processing methods for AM, offering the reader practical guidance on how to get their parts from the AM machine into a shape that is ready to use. The books final chapter outlines future applications of AM.

This book introduces a holistic approach to ship design and its optimisation for life-cycle operation. It deals with the scientific background of the adopted approach and the associated synthesis model, which follows modern computer aided engineering (CAE) procedures. It integrates techno-economic databases, calculation and multi-objective optimisation modules and s/w tools with a well-established Computer-Aided Design (CAD) platform, along with a Virtual Vessel Framework (VVF), which will allow virtual testing before the building phase of a new vessel. The resulting graphic user interface (GUI) and information exchange systems enable the exploration of the huge design space to a much larger extent and in less time than is currently possible, thus leading to new insights and promising new design alternatives. The book not only covers the various stages of the design of the main ship system, but also addresses relevant major onboard systems/components in terms of life-cycle performance to offer readers a better understanding of suitable outfitting details, which is a key aspect when it comes the outfitting-intensive products of international shipyards. The book disseminates results of the EU funded Horizon 2020 project HOLISHIP (www.holiship.eu).;

Pada tahun 2018, fenomena dalam industri batu bara memberikan perusahaan batu bara Indonesia insentif untuk meningkatkan produksi dan distribusi. Namun, peningkatan ini perlu didukung dengan pengelolaan kapasitas fasilitas yang efektif dan efisien, termasuk alokasi armada tongkang yang digunakan untuk mentransportasikan batu bara ke destinasi pelanggan. Sebelumnya, berbagai penelitian telah dilakukan mengenai hal ini, tetapi belum ada yang mendiskusikan pengelolaan kapasitas armada tongkang yang mempertimbangkan penambahan armada dengan cara menyewa (charter) unit-unit tongkang baru. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan alokasi optimal jumlah perjalanan (voyage) tongkang, baik menggunakan unit yang sudah ada maupun tambahan. Sebuah perusahaan tambang batu bara Indonesia di Kalimantan Selatan digunakan sebagai studi kasus, dan integer programming (IP) digunakan sebagai metode. Output dari penelitian ini adalah alokasi optimal jumlah perjalanan (voyage) tongkang batu bara untuk destinasi domestik dan transshipment yang mempertimbangkan penambahan unit tongkang melalui penyewaan (chartering). ......In the year 2018, phenomena within the coal industry have given incentive for Indonesian coal-mining companies to increase their production and distribution. However, this increase needs to be supported by effective and efficient facility capacity management, including allocation of the barge fleet used to transport coal to customer destinations. Previous research has been done on the subject, but none has yet discussed the issue of barge fleet capacity management that considers the possibility of addition to the fleet by way of chartering new barge units. This research aims to determine the optimal allocation of coal barge fleet in terms of number of voyages of both existing and additional barge units. The case of an Indonesian coal-mining company based in Southern Borneo is used for case study, and integer programming (IP) is deployed as the method. The output of this research is an optimal allocation of coal barge fleet for domestic and transshipment destinations in terms of number of voyages that considers the addition of new barge units to the fleet through chartering.

This book describes the modelling and optimisation of vibration reduction systems in an integrated fashion using nonlinear equations of motion. It proposes an effective optimisation method for determining the basic characteristics of the non-linear visco-elastic elements used in passive vibration reduction systems. In the case of semi-active and active vibration isolators, a design process of the advanced control systems is proposed that makes possible to optimise the controller settings relatively to the selected vibro-isolation criteria. The approach developed here is subsequently tested by means of experimental investigations conducted on various sample vibration reduction systems: passive, semi-active and active.
