Abstrak :
This study aims to obtain varieties that will withstand dry environment to see the effect of a given treatment, which was held on December 2015 until February 2016, at the Kebun Percobaan Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Sisingamangaraja XU, Medan. The materials used in this study are varieties of onion bulbs Samosir, Bangkok, and Vietnam. The method used in this study is a randomized block design (RAK) Factorial with two factors: the variety and frequency of watering. Parameters measured were plant height (cm), the number of leaf blade (blade) the number of tillers (tuber), harvesting (today), wet weight of tuber per hill (g) and the weight of dried tubers economy (gr). The data obtained were processed using analysis of variance and if the very real tangible or followed by BNt / LSL (Least Significant Difference) at the level of 0.01 and 0.05. The results showed that the interaction of Vietnam on the frequencv of watering varieties 1x7 day (V3W4) with the highest plant height of 31.12 cm and Samosir on the frequency of watering varieties lxl days (V1W1) with the lowest plant height of 17.88 cm. Interaction varieties of Vietnam on the 1x7 watering frequency (V3W4) with the highest number of 17 pieces of the leaf blade, and interaction on the frequency of watering varieties Samosir 1x1 days (VjWi) with the lowest amount of the leaf blade 10 strands. Interaction varieties' of Vietnam on the frequency of watering 1x7 (V3W4) with the highest number of tillers 17 pieces, and the interaction of varieties of Bangkok on a day watering frequency 1x7 (V2W4) 8 pieces. Vietnam varieties harvested by harvesting the shortest 65 days, and Samosir varieties harvested by harvesting the longest 70 days. Wet weight of tuber per hill top varieties produced by Vietnam is 14.90 grams and Samosir varieties produce wet weight of tuber per clump 9.14 gr. And the highest economic weight of dried bulbs produced by Vietnam 11.42 g varieties, and varieties of dried bulbs Samosir produce the lowest economic weight 6.58 gr.

Perlindungan terhadap Petani bawang merah dari bahaya pestisida merupakan suatu tantangan bagi dinas- dinas yang terkait di Kabupaten Brebes. Data hasil uji Cholinesterase darah yang dilakukan Dinas Kesehatan Brebes, dari 1764 sampel darah petani menunjukkan dan 1181 orang ( 66,9 %) masuk kategori normal sedangkan 583 orang ( 33 %) masuk kategori ringan sampai berat. Thesis ini meneliti faktor-faktor yang berpengaruh terhadap persepsi petani bawang merah yaitu : kepemilikan lahan, pengetahuan tentang pestisida, masa kerja dan pelatihan Keselamatan dan Kesehatan Kerja (K3 ). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 1 dari 4 faktor yang diteliti, hanya 1 faktor yang mempengaruhi persepsi petani bawang merah yaitu pelatihan Keselamatan dan Kesehatan Kerja ( K3 ). Bila dilihat lebih jauh, pelatihan Keselamatan dan Kesehatan Kerja ( K3) adalah faktor eksternal yang dapat diintervensi.

Influencing Factors on the Perception Onion Farmer of Pesticide Used at the Brebes ResidenceOnion farmer protection from dangerous pesticides is a big challenge for the institutions at Brebes residence. Health services was reporting a set of data blood cholinesterase test from 1764 blood sample of onion farmer show that 1181 sample (66,%) is normal and 583 sample ( 33% ) are light, middle, and weight. In this Thesis the writer was doing a research to find out the relationship between a set of factors with onion farmer perception of pesticide used. Those factor are : period of work, the owner of land, knowledge of pesticide, and safety training. The result of this research show that 1 of 4 factors are significantly influencing onion farmer perception, that is safety and occupational health training. When we look deeper , safety and occupational health training is a external factors that is something intervened able.

Eleutherinol merupakan senyawa derivat naftokuinon yang diketahui memiliki afinitas yang kuat untuk berikatan dengan reseptor estrogen alfa ER? . Senyawa ini terdapat di dalam umbi bawang dayak Eleutherine bulbosa Mill. Urb . Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk membuktikan secara ilmiah efek pemberian ekstrak umbi bawang dayak dalam mengurangi sindrom pascamenopause dilihat dari densitas tulang yang dibuktikan dengan adanya peningkatan kadar kalsium tulang tikus melalui pengukuran menggunakan spektrofotometer serapan atom, berat tulang, serta pengaruhnya terhadap pertumbuhan tulang. Sebanyak 36 tikus putih betina Sprague-Dawley dibagi menjadi 6 kelompok perlakuan yaitu sham, kontrol negatif, kontrol positif, dosis 1, dosis 2, dan dosis 3. Enam kelompok tersebut berturut-turut, mendapatkan perlakuan CMC Na 0,5 , CMC Na 0,5 , tamoksifen dengan dosis 0,4 mg/200 g BB tikus, ekstrak umbi bawang dayak dengan dosis 8 mg/200 g BB tikus, ekstrak umbi bawang dayak dengan dosis 12 mg/200 g BB tikus, dan ekstrak umbi bawang dayak dengan dosis 18 mg/200 g BB tikus. Semua kelompok kecuali kelompok sham diovariektomi untuk mendapatkan kondisi hipoestrogen pascamenopause. Setelah ovariektomi, semua tikus dievaluasi keberhasilan ovariektominya pada hari ke-35, kemudian dilanjutkan dengan pemberian bahan uji pada hari ke-36 selama 21 hari secara peroral. Setelah 21 hari pemberian bahan uji, dilakukan pengukuran kadar kalsium tulang, berat tulang, dan panjang tulang. Hasil yang didapatkan menunjukkan bahwa kadar kalsium tulang, berat tulang, dan panjang tulang meningkat dengan bertambahnya dosis pemberian ekstrak. ...... The purpose of this study is to scientifically prove the effects of extract of dayak onion bulbs on overcoming postmenopausal symptoms seen from bone density by the increasing of rat bone calcium level through atomic absorption spectrophotometer measurements, bone weight, and bone growth. A total of 36 female white rats of Sprague Dawley were divided into 6 groups sham, negative control, positive control, negative control, dose 1, dose 2, and dose 3. Successively, all 6 groups receive CMC Na 0,5 , CMC Na 0,5 , tamoxifen, dayak onion bulbs extract at a dose 8 mg 200 g bw rat, dayak onion bulbs bulbs extract at a dose 12 mg 200 g bw rat, and dayak onion bulbs extract at a dose 18 mg 200 g bw rat. All groups, except the sham, is ovariectomized to obtain the conditions of hypoestrogen. After ovariectomy, all rats were evaluated for ovariectomy success on day 35, followed by the administration of the sample orally for 21 days on day 36. After 21 days administration, measured level of bone calcium, bone weight, and bone length. The results showed that the bone calcium levels, bone weight, and bone length increased with increasing doses of the extract.
