Abstrak :
The urban area is synonymous with rapid development in all aspects of life, an impact on the culture of young people, including the activity in their spare time. Cultures that are typical of today's youth is the activity of reading that has been chosen by them to spend their spare time. Reading the many chosen by this young man was popular reading, but in the midst of an increasingly popular reading masive still a young boy who enjoyed reading old literature, especially novels. Those who are still fond of the old literary novels are young people who are members of the Student Organisation Extra Campus (OMEK). Many people feel dificult when reading old literature but youth people who like old literature not feel it. They get satisfied, that is why they like it his genre. Difference between two kind of reader related with consumtion and production meaning when they read a book. Kind of study is kualitatif study to see production and reproduction meaning from read old literature by youth people who Join in Ekstern all. Student Organisation of University. This study use cultural studies etnography which have central focus kualitatif eksploration of reading activity as a cultural practices. This study helped by Pierre Bordieu?s theory. Bordieu?s theory which used in this study is habitus, field, and cultural capital. This study want to know how do subject can produce and reproduce meaning and how field give cultural capital for them. This study result 3 type reader, they are common reader, contructional reader, and resis tance reader.

Abstrak :
Skripsi ini membahas unsur sejarah yang terkandung dalam naskah Syair Bintara Mahmud Setia Raja Blang Pidier Jajahan (SBMSRBPJ). Metode yang digunakan dalam menyunting teks adalah metode edisi kritis. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan instrinsik pada tahap analisis isi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menyajikan suntingan naskah SBMSRBPJ dan mendeskripsikan unsur sejarah yang terkandung dalam naskah tersebut. Dalam naskah SBMSRBPJ, ditemukan adanya peristiwa sejarah mengenai Perang Aceh melawan Belanda yang terjadi pada tahun 1873?1942 di Aceh. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan unsur-unsur dalam naskah, yakni tokoh dan latar, yang dikenal dalam dunia nyata. Oleh karena itu, naskah SBMSRBPJ termasuk dalam sastra sejarah.

This thesis discuss about the history of the text on Syair Bintara Mahmud Setia Blang Pidier Jajahan (SBMSRBPJ). The method which is used in this text is critical edition method. Thisresearch used the intrinsic approach for analysis step. The purpose of this research is explaining the text of SBMSRBPJ and describing the history of its text. From the text, the writer found the Aceh war with the Dutch in 1873-1942 at Aceh. It happened supporting with two aspects such as the characters and the setting. There, it is called as a history of literature.
