"Industri minyak dan gas di Indonesia tidak luput dari ancaman VUCA, atau Volatility-Uncertainty-Complexity-Ambiguity. Semua terus berubah, mulai dari teknologi, peraturan atau kebijakan, perilaku konsumen, sampai dengan iklim. Lingkungan politik dan ekonomi yang berubah-ubah mengarah pada pola perilaku strategis yang berbeda untuk perusahaan-perusahaan minyak dan gas. Terutama kegiatan eksplorasi dan eksploitasi migas, yang memiliki karakteristik padat modal (high cost), padat teknologi (high technology), padat resiko (high risk) dan membutuhkan eksplorasi secara terus menerus untuk mempertahankan produksi. Pada penelitian ini, dilakukan analisis untuk melihat pengembangan strategi yang digunakan oleh perusahaan eksplorasi dan produksi di Indonesia saat ini. Data pengembangan strategi setiap perusahaan kemudian diolah menjadi morphological box sehingga didapatkan pemosisian perusahaan-perusahaan eksplorasi dan produksi migas di Indonesia. Analisis morphological box ini juga dapat menunjukkan faktor-faktor yang berperan besar dalam pengembangan strategi yang digunakan oleh perusahaan-perusahaan eksplorasi dan produksi migas di Indonesia sehingga dapat mengoptimalkan performa-performa yang masih perlu ditingkatkan.

The oil and gas industry in Indonesia is also affected by the threat of VUCA, or Volatility-Uncertainty-Complexity-Ambiguity. Everything is constantly changing, including the technologies, regulations or policies, consumer behavior, to climate. The dynamic political and economic environment leads to different patterns of strategic behavior for oil and gas companies. Especially oil and gas exploration and exploitation activities, which have the characteristics of high cost, high technology, high risk and requires continuous exploration to maintain production. In this study, an analysis was carried out to see the strategic development used by exploration and production companies in Indonesia. Then, the strategic development datas for each company are processed into a morphological box to obtain the positioning of oil and gas exploration and production companies in Indonesia. This morphological box analysis also show the factors that play a major role in the development of strategies used by oil and gas exploration and production companies in Indonesia so that they can optimize performance that still needs to be improved."
