Hakim A. 2010. The diversity of secondary metabolites from Genus Artocarpus (Moraceae). Nusantara Bioscience 2:146-156. Several species of the Artocarpus genus (Moraceae) have been investigated their natural product. The secondary metabolites successfully being isolatad from Artocarpus genus consist of terpenoid, flavonoids, stilbenoid, arylbenzofuran, neolignan, and adduct Diels-Alder. Flavonoid group represent the compound which is the most found from Artocarpus plant. The flavonoids compound which are successfully isolated from Artocarpus plant consist of the varied frameworks like chalcone, flavanone, flavan-3-ol, simple flavone, prenylflavone, oxepinoflavone, pyranoflavone, dihydrobenzoxanthone, furanodihydrobenzoxanthone, pyranodihydrobenzoxanthone, quinonoxanthone, cyclopentenoxanthone, xanthonolide, dihydroxanthone.

One of the genera that can be found in Bogor Botanical Gardens plant collection is Ficus (Moraceae). This genus has several habitus, one of which is hemiepiphyte. There are several stages of hemiepiphyte Ficus spp. growth process. It starts from the epiphytic phase to the last phase as a strangler that can kill the host tree. Hemiepiphyte Ficus spp. has a very important role in terms of improving gardens ecological function. However, hemiepiphyte Ficus spp. need to be properly managed in order not to destroy the host plant especially when it is a plant collection with particular value.

......Breadfruit (Artocarpus altilis) is one of the Moraceae family well known in Indonesia, is a native plant of South Asia, Southeast Asia, New Guinea and the South Pacific. Two compounds successfully were isolated from the ethyl acetate extract of breadfruit leaves (Artocarpus altilis), there are β-sitosterol (white needle crystals ) with melting point of 133 -135 ˚ C, which has a molecular mass of 414 and one derivative of flavonoid compounds JS7 a bright yellow solid with a molecular mass of 404, these compounds were separated by maceration extraction, fractionation and isolation on chromatography, and purification methods. Crystallization was done by using two solvent systems. The molecular structure were determined by utilizing the physical and spectroscopic data of UV, IR and 1H and 13C-NMR.The isolated compound showed antioxidant activity in DPPH method, JS7 flavonoid derivative compound showed less active as an antioxidant with IC 50 = 137,00 ug / mL and anti-cancer test using L-1210 live cell leukemin a cell exhibited a significant against L1210 cell live with IC50 = 5,12 gram/mL.
