Abstrak :
Even the most experienced instructor can find teaching cell biology daunting, and most cell biology texts are bogged down in detail or background information. Lost in all the details are the more fascinating material and contemporary advances that represent this rapidly moving field. With so much to cover, creating a classroom around active learning may be difficult or nearly impossible. The Cell: A Molecular Approach endeavors to address those issues with succinct writing, incorporation of current research, a test bank that encourages critical thinking, and an active learning framework. With just enough detail for a one-semester, junior level course, the text presents fundamental concepts and current research, including chapters on genomics and transcriptional regulation and epigenetics, and new in-text boxed features on molecular medicine and key experiments. For instructors who want to flip their classrooms or just get students more engaged, The Cell: A Molecular Approach is the only cell biology text that is accompanied by an Active Learning Guide. This chapter-by-chapter playbook shows instructors how to create a dynamic learning environment with in-class exercises, clicker questions, and links to relevant media, animations, testing, and self-quizzing, all aligned with the new in-text learning objectives, wherever appropriate. This text provides the right level of detail, student engagement, and instructor support for the modern cell biology classroom

Preterm labor is delivered before 37 completed weeks with the weight of a baby born less than 2500 grams. Preterm labor is still the main cause of neonatal morbidity and mortality in the world. The risk of occurrence is multifactorial, one of which is premature rupture of the membranes. This study aims to see the relationship between premature rupture of membranes and preterm labor at Dr. RSUPN. Cipto Mangunkusumo Jakarta period January-June 2017. This study used a crossectional design with a total sample of 652 samples taken from all medical records of maternity at RSUPN Dr. Cipto Mangunkusumo for the period January-June 2017 that fulfills the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The results of multivariate analysis showed that there was a significant relationship between premature rupture of membranes and preterm labor after controlling for the third variable, which was proven statistically with a value of 0,000 and OR 3,255. So it can be concluded that mothers who experience premature rupture of membranes have a risk three times greater for preterm labor than mothers who do not experience premature rupture of membranes. Based on these results, it is expected that pregnant women will always be vigilant and maintain health so as not to cause premature rupture of the membranes so that they are able to maintain their pregnancy until they are quite a month old.

......The rapid growth of Indonesia's oil and gas industry has a linear effect on the growth of wastewater produced by the industry. A high level of COD, TDS, TSS, color, turbidity, and pH usually characterizes oily wastewater. In this study, the process of separating oily wastewater will be conducted using a polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) membrane ultrafiltration (UF) process. However, the hydrophobic nature of the PVDF polymer can increase the fouling that occurs during the UF process. Therefore, in this study PVDF membrane is modified with the additive polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) with dimethylacetamide (DMAc) as a solvent which helps the formation of the morphological structure of the membrane. Membrane synthesis was conducted by immersion precipitation with a mass variation of PVP 0.1; 0.2; and 0.3 grams. Characterization of the membrane was carried out to determine the properties of the membrane using the SEM test, FTIR, contact angle, tensile test, and porosity test. The pre-treatment process is used before UF to increase the rejection of the permeate. Then the pressure variation on the membrane will be carried out with the optimal PVP mass variation of 0,1 gram at 1 and 2 bar. The resulting flux value increases with increasing PVP mass on the membrane. The rejection obtained at optimal membrane variations for COD, TDS, TSS,turbidity, and pH were 82.05%; 44.46%; 90.38%; 85.42%; 7.1.

Introduction: According to WHO, 15 million babies are born premature annually, and  Indonesia ranks 5th worldwide. One of the most frequent complications in preterm infants is sepsis. Early onset neonatal sepsis (EONS) is defined as the systemic infection in infants less than 72 hours old which is often caused by vertical transmission of pathogens before or during labour. With the current lack of consensus in the definition of neonatal sepsis, identification risk factors, including prolonged premature preterm rupture of membranes (ROM), becomes the main strategy. Unfortunately, there is also currently lack of worldwide agreement in the threshold of duration of ROM which significantly increases the risk of EONS in preterm infants. Objectives: (1) To determine the distribution of subjects based on selected characteristics: gender, gestational age, maternal age, birth weight and mode of delivery. (2) To determine the distribution of subjects based on clinical symptoms and bacterial culture examination. (3) To determine the association between the duration of ROM and the incidence of EONS in preterm infants, at the thresholds of 24 hours, 18 hours and 12 hours, in RSCM. Methods: A case-control study was done on preterm infants born in RSCM in 2016-2017. The subjects were divided into 2 groups: (1) the case group for preterm infants who had EONS; and (2) the control group for preterm infants who did not have EONS; each selected by simple random sampling. The total number of subjects in the study was 154 preterm infants (77 in the case group and 77 in the control group). Data collection from the medical records of the subjects was performed in January-August 2018, followed by bivariate analysis using Chi Square Test and  multivariate analysis using logistic regression. Result: Characteristics had insignificant differences, except gestational age (p=0,012) and birth weight (p=0,02). The clinical symptoms which were most frequent and had significant associations with EONS were respiratory instability (63,0%, p<0,001) and temperature instability (40,9%, p<0,001). Conclusion. There is a significant association between the duration of ROM at 12, 18 and 24 hours, and the incidence of EONS in preterm infants, especially at duration of more than 12 hours. Prolonged PPROM for 12, 18, and 24 hours increases the risk of EONS in preterm infants 2.3 times (unadjusted) and PPROM for 12 hours increases the risk of EONS in preterm infants 2.9 times after adjustment for other factors.
