Gebali, Fayez
"The purpose of this book is to give the reader two things, to paraphraseMark Twain:
Roots to know the basics of modeling networks and Wings to fly away and attempt
modeling other proposed systems of interest.
The Internet phenomenon is affecting us all in the way we communicate, conduct business, and access information and entertainment. More unforeseen applications are still to come. All of this is due to the existence of an efficient global highperformance network that connects millions of users and moves information at a
high rate with small delay."

Dirk Pattinson, editor
"his book constitutes the thoroughly refereed post-proceedings of the 11th International Workshop on Coalgebraic Methods in Computer Science, CMCS 2012, colocated with ETAPS 2012, held in Tallin, Estonia, in March/April 2012. The 10 revised full papers were carefully reviewed and selected from 23 submissions. Also included are three invited talks. The papers cover a wide range of topics in the theory, logics and applications of coalgebras."

Wallis, W.D.
"This second edition of A beginner’s guide to discrete mathematics presents a detailed guide to discrete mathematics and its relationship to other mathematical subjects including set theory, probability, cryptography, graph theory, and number theory. This textbook has a distinctly applied orientation and explores a variety of applications. Key Features of the second edition, includes a new chapter on the theory of voting as well as numerous new examples and exercises throughout the book, introduces functions, vectors, matrices, number systems, scientific notations, and the representation of numbers in computers, provides examples which then lead into easy practice problems throughout the text and full exercise at the end of each chapter, and full solutions for practice problems are provided at the end of the book."

"This book will include most of the application areas of industrial engineering through these computational intelligence systems. In the literature, there is no book including many real and practical applications of Computational Intelligence Systems from the point of view of Industrial Engineering. Every chapter will include explanatory and didactic applications. "

Boston, Nigel
"Over the last 50 years there have been an increasing number of applications of algebraic tools to solve problems in communications, in particular in the fields of error-control codes and cryptography. More recently, broader applications have emerged, requiring quite sophisticated algebra - for example, the Alamouti scheme in MIMO communications is just Hamilton's quaternions in disguise and has spawned the use of PhD-level algebra to produce generalizations. Likewise, in the absence of credible alternatives, the industry has in many cases been forced to adopt elliptic curve cryptography. In addition, algebra has been successfully applied to problems in signal processing such as face recognition, biometrics, control design, and signal design for radar. This book introduces the reader to the algebra they need to appreciate these developments and to various problems solved by these techniques."
