Stigma refers to negative attitudes towards values, characteristics, or practices that are considered deviating from prevailing norms. The existence of stigma dan negative perceptions towards wokers with disabilities among non-disabled recruiters becomes one of the barriers that ultimately limit the potential of disabilities and transform into structural failures in their personal, economic, social, and career. The imahinary contact method is one of the intervention strategies to reduce stigma and negative perceptions through mental simulation of imagining contact or interaction with stigmatized group members in a more postive way. This research was conducted with 15 participants who were non-disabled workers working as recruiters in both public and private sectors. The result showed a significant reduction in negativity towards workers with disabilities after receiving the imaginary contact intervention (M= 76.33, SD= 17.37, n= 15) compared to before intevention (M= 96.26, SD= 10.42, n= 15) with p <0.05. Furthermore, there was a change in behavior among the participants as evidenced by their increased positive attitudes towards supporting disability employment campaigns. "

The high level of violence and hatred based on certain (minority) identities is increasing in Indonesia, especially to transwomen. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct interventions aimed at increasing tolerance for minority gender identity groups. Interventions to initiate tolerance can be started from groups of young people in Indonesia so that they can coexist with each other through the approach of the imagined contact hypothesis theory.
The results showed a significant decrease in prejudice towards transwomen (24) = 2.78, p <.01 (one- tailed) where the attitude was more positive in the group after imagined contact intervention (M = 55.32, SD = 17.18, n = 25) rather than before the intervention (M = 62.68, SD = 14.99, n = 25).

Several studies have shown that perceived similarity can be elicited without any interaction taking place between observers and their targets. One such study highlights the effects of perspective taking on perceived similarity. Perspective taking is found to increase perceived similarity by increasing self-other overlap between observer and target. This study seeks to understand ways to increase perceived similarity without any interaction taking place. In two experiments, we tested the effects of taking perspective taking and imagined contact on perceived similarity. These two methods were chosen because perspective taking is a cognitive process whereas imaginary contact affects affective processes. The first study focused on perspective taking and was done with 95 participants with a between subjects design. The first study was also a replication of the third study by Brown, Young & McConnel (2009). The second study examined the effect of imaginary contact and had 59 participants (76% women) with a within-subjects design. These experiments show that perspective taking does not improve perceived similarity, whereas imaginary contact does increase perceived similarity. This study demonstrates the importance of conducting replication studies and provides initial evidence that imagined contact can influence perceived similarity, not just the effect of familiarity towards a target."
