"[ ABSTRAK
Penelitian ini membahas mengenai jenis-jenis pelanggaran unsur SPEAKING yang menimbulkan humor dalam pertunjukan komedian Belanda Najib Amhali dalam fragmen berjudul Sinterklaas yang merupakan bagian dari show-nya The Best of Najib Amhali, muncul pada tahun 2009. Penelitian ini berfokus pada monolog Amhali mengenai beberapa pengalamannya yang dapat dianalisis dengan pendekatan SPEAKING dari Hymes serta teori superioritas dan degradasi yang sesuai bagi humor satir. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah memaparkan unsur SPEAKING yang terdapat dalam fragmen tersebut serta melihat pelanggaran atau keganjilan dalam situasi tersebut yang justru menimbulkan humor. Metode yang digunakan berupa metode kualitatif dengan teknik studi pustaka. Sumber data dari penelitian ini adalah fragmen video pertunjukan komedian Najib Amhali berjudul Sinterklaas yang diunggah di Youtube pada 7 Desember 2010 dengan durasi 2 menit 51 detik. Dapat ditemukan beberapa unsur SPEAKING dalam fragmen Sinterklaas yang tidak sepernuhnya sesuai seperti pelanggaran setting and scene, act sequence dan norms namun justru menimbulkan humor.
ABSTRACT The research discussed the violation of SPEAKING elements which trigger humor in a Dutch comedian, Najib Amhali, show fragment titled Sinterklaas, which is a part of his show The Best of Najib Amhali aired in 2009. The paper is focusing on the monolog of Amhali about his experiences and using the analysis of SPEAKING approach from Hymes also superiority and degradation theory which is suitable for satire humor. The objective of the research is to explain about SPEAKING elements which can be found in the fragment and to see which types of violation or incongruity in the situations within the show which trigger humor. The method of the research is qualitative method with literature review technique. Data resource of the research is video fragment of Najib Amhali comedy show titled Sinterklaas uploaded in Youtube on December 7, 2010 with 2 minutes 51 seconds duration. "Film cenderung menggambarkan kejadian nyata yang relevan. Sudah umum bagi karakter utama dalam film untuk berada dalam kelas sosial yang berbeda, terutama dalam film romantis. Meskipun begitu, sulit bagi dua individu yang tidak memiliki kesamaan untuk membangun koneksi. “Isi & Ossi”, film komedi romantic Jerman yang disutradarai Oliver Kienle adalah salah satu film di mana kedua karakter utamanya berada di dalam kelas sosial yang berbeda. Menurut Bourdieu, akan lebih mudah bagi seorang individu untuk membangun koneksi dengan individu lain dengan kapital yang kurang lebih sama dengan mereka. Penelitian ini akan mendiskusikan bagaimana dua individu dengan kapital yang berbeda mampu membangun koneksi. Penelitian ini akan berfokus pada kapital budaya dari kedua karakter utama dan ruang sosial. Hasil dari penelitian adalah koneksi dapat dibangun jika salah satunya rela berpindah ruang sosial dan beradaptasi dengan yang lainnya.

Movies tend to reflect real-life relevant events. Main characters with social class differences are common in movies, especially romantic ones. However, building a connection between two individuals with almost nothing in common is hard. “Isi & Ossi”, a German romantic comedy movie directed by Oliver Kienle, is one of those movies with characters who are in different social classes. According to Bourdieu, one can build a connection with another who has the same number of capitals as one does. This study will discuss how two individuals with very different capitals are able to build connections. This study will focus on the characters’ cultural capital and social fields. The result is that it is possible to do so if one of them is willing to break out from their original social field and adjust to the other."

"Tesis ini membahas tentang bagaimana representasi kekerasan simbolik dalam hubungan romantis pada serial situasi komedi How I Met Your Mother serta bermaksud membongkar ideologi patriarki di balik representasi tersebut. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan metode analisis semiotika Roland Barthes dan teknik pengumpulan data melalui analisis teks, serta studi literatur. Konsep kekerasan simbolik yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini beranggapan bahwa hubungan romantis heteroseksual merupakan bentuk kekerasan simbolik pada perempuan.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa serial komedi situasi How I Met Your Mother menampilkan kekerasan simbolik dengan mereproduksi mitos perempuan dalam hubungan romantis sebagai : objek seks, makhluk yang emosional, dan pihak yang harus lebih rela berkorban. Mitos ini lah yang mengkonstruksikan ideologi patriarki di balik komedi situasi How I Met Your Mother.

This research tries to explain about how the representation of symbolic violence in romantic relationships in a sitcom, How I Met Your Mother, and to expose the pathriarchal ideology behind the representation. This is a qualitative research with semiotic by Roland Barthes as the method to analyze the text and text analysis technique along with literature study to collect the data. The concept of symbolic violence, that is used in this research, assumes that a heterosexual romantic relationship is a form of symbolic violence to women.
The result of this research indicates that How I Met Your Mother displays symbolic violences by reproducing myths towards women as: sex symbols, emotional beings and the ones who have to be more self-sacrificing than men. These myths construct the patriarchal ideology behind How I Met Your Mother."
