"[ABSTRAKKemahiran berbicara adalah salah satu kompetensi yang harus dikuasai mahasiswa semasa belajar di universitas. Pada kenyataannya, beberapa studi menunjukkan bahwa kemahiran berbicara mahasiswa masih dipertanyakan karena kurangnya motivasi dalam belajar yang berakibat pada ketidakpercayaan diri untuk mempraktekkannya sehari-hari. Studi ini akan berfokus pada orientasi mahasiswa UI tingkat akhir yang dapat dikategorikan menjadi instrumental dan integratif dalam korelasinya kepada kemahiran berbicara. Data menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas dari partisipan cenderung memiliki orientasi instrumental daripada integratif. Data juga menunjukkan bahwa adanya korelasi positif antara orientasi mahasiswa dengan kemahiran berbicara dalam bahasa Inggris.

ABSTRACTStudents? speaking proficiency is one of the competencies that should be acquired throughout their study in university. Regrettably, studies show that students? speaking skill is still questionable due to their lack of motivation that makes them hesitate to practice more. This study will focus on UI sophomore students? orientation which can be distinguished to instrumental and integrative in correlation to their speaking proficiency. It is found that the majority of the participants tend to have instrumental rather than integrative orientation and high motivational level in learning. "ABSTRAKTesis ini membahas pengaruh kemahiran berbicara mitra tutur terhadap kemahiranberbicara peserta tes dalam tes kemahiran berbicara format berpasangan. Dalampenelitian ini, kemahiran peserta tes dilihat melalui kualitas dan kuantitas tuturanpeserta tes yang diproduksi ketika mengerjakan tes kemajuan. Kualitas tuturandilihat melalui aspek tata bahasa, kosakata, pemahaman, kefasihan, pelafalan, danpemenuhan tugas. Kuantitas tuturan dilihat melalui produksi C-units dan giliran.Penelitian ini adalah studi kasus yang bersifat eksperimental. Pelajar yang menjadisubjek penelitian diberikan tindakan berupa pemberian mitra tutur yang memilikikemahiran berbicara yang sama dan yang berbeda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkanbahwa dalam tes kemahiran berbicara format berpasangan, perbedaan tingkatkemahiran berbicara mitra tutur mempengaruhi kualitas tuturan peserta tes yangmemiliki kemahiran berbicara tinggi pada aspek pemenuhan tugas dan perbedaantingkat kemahiran berbicara mitra tutur mempengaruhi kuantitas tuturan pesertates yang memiliki kemahiran berbicara tinggi dan rendah.

ABSTRACTThis study focuses on the effects of interlocutor proficiency toward the test taker`sproficiency in paired speaking test. In this study, test taker proficiency wasviewed through the language quality and language quantity produced in a progresstest. The language quality was seen through six different aspects. They aregrammar, vocabulary, comprehension, fluency, pronunciation, and taskcompletion. The language quantity was seen through the production of C-unitsand turns. This research is an experimental case study in which the test takers asthe research subjects did two tasks with two different interlocutors. The resultrevealed that in paired speaking tests, the interlocutor`s proficiency affects thelanguage quality of high proficiency test takers in terms of task completion. Theresult also revealed that in a paired speaking test, the interlocutor`s proficiencyaffects the language quantity of high proficiency and low proficiency test takers."

"Penelitian ini merupakan upaya untuk meningkatkan kemahiran berbicara siswa melalui metode diskusi kelompok berdasarkan tipe kepribadian dan kemahiran berbicara siswa. Penelitian dilakukan pada salah satu universitas negeri di Jawa Timur dengan melibatkan 35 siswa. Peneliti hanya berfokus pada siswa introver yang memiliki kemampuan berbicara rendah. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah tindakan kelas (action research) yang dilakukan selama 6 siklus. Data awal tipe kepribadian diambil menggunakan kuesioner tipe kepribadian Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) sedangkan data awal kemahiran berbicara siswa introver dinilai menggunakan rubrik penilaian berbicara yang diambil saat kegiatan diskusi kelompok berlangsung. Siswa dikelompokkan menjadi 3 kelompok sesuai dengan persamaan tipe kepribadian dan kemahiran berbicara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: 1) terdapat peningkatan yang signifikan pada kemahiran berbicara siswa introver yang memiliki kemahiran berbicara rendah, 2) siswa introver yang memiliki kemahiran berbicara rendah mengalami peningkatan paling tinggi baik pada fase pertama maupun fase kedua adalah ketika siswa dikelompokkan dengan kelompok yang terdiri 2 siswa ekstrover yang memiliki nilai tinggi dan 1 siswa ekstrover yang memiliki nilai sedang dan 3) siswa menunjukkan persepsi yang positif terhadap penggunaan metode diskusi kelompok berdasarkan tipe kepribadian dan kemahiran berbicara.

This research is an effort to improve students' speaking skill through group discussion method based on personality type and the difference of students speaking skill. The research was conducted at one of the State Universities in East Java involving 35 students. Researcher focuses only on introvert students who have low speaking skill. The type of research used is action research in 6 cycles. Preliminary personality type data were collected using a Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) personality questionnaire whereas preliminary data of introvert students' speaking skill were assessed using the scoring rubric taken during group discussion activities. Students are divided into 3 groups according to the equality of personality type and speaking skills. The results showed that: 1) there was a significant increase in speaking skill of introvert students who had low speaking skill, 2) introvert students who had low speaking skill showed the highest increase in both the first and second phases when students were on a group that consisting of 2 extrovert students with high speaking ability and 1 extrovert student with moderate speaking ability and 3) students showed positive perception of group discussion method using based on personality type and speaking skills."

"Penguasaan seseorang terhadap bahasa asing membutuhkan proses pembelajaran yang berbeda dari pemerolehan bahasa ibu. Proses pembelajaran bahasa asing bertujuan agar seseorang dapat menggunakan kemahiran berbicaranya secara benar dan efektif dalam berkomunikasi. Pelajar yang mempelajari bahasa asing berpotensi menemukan konstruksi tata bahasa asing yang berbeda atau bahkan tidak ada di bahasa ibunya. Salah satu bentuk aturan tersebut adalah kala lampau dalam bahasa Belanda yang dipelajari oleh mahasiswa Program Studi Belanda Universitas Indonesia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penggunaan kala lampau pada kemahiran berbicara mahasiswa Program Studi Belanda Universitas Indonesia yang lulus level B1 CNaVT Tahun 2023. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan data berupa transkrip rekaman audio tujuh mahasiswa Program Studi Belanda level B1 CNaVT Tahun 2023 yang dianalisis menggunakan kaidah penggunaan dan bentuk kala lampau menurut Haeseryn W. et. al. (1997). Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa Program Studi Belanda level B1 CNaVT Tahun 2023 masih melakukan kesalahan penggunaan dan bentuk pada kala lampau imperfectum, perfectum, maupun plusquamperfectum.

Foreign language proficiency requires a different learning process than mother tongue acquisition. Students who learn a foreign language have the potential to find foreign grammatical constructions that are different or even non-existent in their native language. One of these rules is the past tense in Dutch studied by students of the Dutch Studies Program at the University of Indonesia. This study aims to find out the use of past tense in the speaking proficiency of Dutch Study Program students at the University of Indonesia level B1. This research uses descriptive qualitative method with data in the form of transcripts of audio recordings of seven Dutch Study Program students at level B1 which are analyzed using the rules of use and past tense according to Haeseryn W. et. al. (1997). The result of this study shows that the B1 level Dutch Study Program students still make mistakes in the usage and form of the past tense imperfectum, perfectum, and plusquamperfectum."
