ABSTRACT
Kartu pos atau Postcard adalah salah satu benda pos berupa lembaran kertas bergambar ilustrasi atau foto untuk menulis kabar yang bersifat terbuka. Kartu pos pertama Kali diluncurkan pada 1 oktober 1869 di Austria dengan nama Correspondez kate. Sujana adalah orang Bali dan sekaligus seorang fotografer, antara tahun 1970-1990an mengkomunikasikan kreativitas fotografisnya dengan mengangkat tema tentang fenomena di Bali dari perspektif medium fotografi yang diungkap dalam karya kartu pos. Terkait dengan hal tersebut, maka tujuan penulisan ini ingin mengetahui pandangan tentang perubahan alam, manusia, arsitektur, pakaian dan beragam hal yang sangat mendasar di Bali yang diungkap pada kartu pos. Metode yang digunakan dalam mengkaji karya kartu pos yang diciptakan oleh Sujana adalah metode deskritif. Ruang lingkup pembahasan terfokus pada uraian tentang nilai-nilai estetika fotograifi terkait fenomena pariwisata di Bali pada karya kartu pos Sujana.

Penelitian ini membahas representasi kekuatan Uni Soviet dalam eksplorasi ruang angkasa pada masa Perang Dingin melalui kartu pos «Советская Космонавтикa» [Sovetskaja Kosmonavtika] yang dipublikasikan pada tahun 1972. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menemukan bentuk-bentuk kekuatan Uni Soviet dalam eksplorasi ruang angkasa pada masa Perang Dingin melalui gambar yang ada pada kartu pos «Советская Космонавтикa» [Sovetskaja Kosmonavtika]. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode studi pustaka yang dipadukan dengan the circuit of circle milik Stuart Hall. Melalui the circuit of circle milik Stuart Hall ditemukan bentuk-bentuk kekuatan Uni Soviet dalam eksplorasi ruang angkasa dan pengembangan teknologi oleh ilmuwan Uni Soviet pada masa Perang Dingin. Hasil penelitian ini membuktikan bahwa kartu pos «Советская Космонавтикa» [Sovetskaja Kosmonavtika] merepresentasikan bentuk kekuatan Uni Soviet dalam eksplorasi dan pengembangan teknologi ruang angkasa serta terjadi pergeseran makna eksplorasi ruang angkasa yang merupakan bentuk pengembangan sains menjadi alat untuk menunjukkan kekuatan politik di ranah internasional dan penyebaran komunisme ke seluruh dunia. ......This research examines the representation of the Soviet Union’s power in space exploration during the Cold War through images on «Советская Космонавтикa» [Sovetskaja Kosmonavtika] postcard published in 1972. The aim of this research is to discover the form of Soviet Union’s power in space exploration through images on «Советская Космонавтикa» [Sovetskaja Kosmonavtika] postcard. This research uses library study method combined with Stuart Hall’s the circuit of culture. Through the circuit of culture discovered the form of Soviet Union’s power in space exploration and technology development by Soviet scientists during the Cold War. The results of this research prove that «Советская Космонавтикa» [Sovetskaja Kosmonavtika] postcard represents the form of Soviet Union’s power in space exploration and there were shift of space exploration meanings into a form of showing international political power and spreading communism to the world.

Penelitian dengan metode netnografi ini memahami eksistensi dan penggunaan media analog di era digital yang tak lepas dari konstruksi sosial terhadapnya. Begitu juga yang terjadi pada kartu pos. Fleksibilitas interpretasi kelompok sosial relevan, dalam penelitian ini adalah komunitas Card to Post, membawa penggunaan kartu pos dengan cara yang baru. Fleksibilitas interpretasi tersebut terlihat pada gambar dan ornament estetikanya; pesan tertulis; penempatan prangko; dan penyimpanannya. Lalu, penggunaan teknologi analog ini menimbulkan makna khusus pada kartu pos sebagai media komunikasi interpersonal, yaitu personalitas, sensasi fisik, kreatifitas, dan komunikasi pelan

With netnography as a method, this research analize and understand the existence and the usage of postcard as analog media in digital era which happended because of social construction. This research find that the interpretative flexibility of the social relevant group bring new way to use and design postcard. The interpretative flexibility shown from postcard picture and aesthetic ornament; written message; stamp placement and how it stored.
