"This article attempts to explain the basic nature of social structure of the Sultanate of Wolio which is divided into four categories, namely Kaomu, Walaka, Papara and Batua. The analysis itself is based on local manuscripts and fieldwork in the Sultanate of Wolio in the course of several years. Through the study of Wolio social structure, the writer also attempts to comprehend the ideology of power in Wolio society. In addition, the discussion shows as well the misinterpretation of the basic nature of Wolio social structure and ideology of power done by several Dutch scholars since 1878"

"ABSTRAKSkripsi ini membahas naskah Melayu klasik berjudul Pulangana Kaomu (PK) yang berasal dari Buton, Sulawesi Tenggara. Naskah PK berisi silsilah golongan kaomu di empat puluh daerah pemerintahan Kesultanan Buton. Penyajian suntingan teks edisi kritis naskah PK adalah tujuan utama penelitian ini. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga mencakup analisis terhadap tempat, silsilah, dan jabatan yang terdapat dalam naskah PK. Kesimpulan dari analisis tersebut adalah teks silsilah tidak hanya menggambarkan hubungan keluarga, melainkan juga dapat menggambarkan letak tempat-tempat yang diriwayatkan dalam teks melalui silsilah dan nama-nama jabatan golongan kaomu dalam struktur pemerintahan Kesultanan Buton.

ABSTRACTThis undergraduate thesis talks about Pulangana Kaomu (PK), classical Malay manuscript from Buton, Sulawesi Tenggara. The content of PK manuscript is genealogy of kaomu class in forty places under Kesultanan Buton. Critical edition of PK manuscript is the main focus of this research. The other focus is analysis about place, genealogy, and occupation that written in PK. Conclusion of that analysis is genealogy text not only portray family relationship, but also represent places that told through genealogy and occupation’s names of kaomu class in structure of Kesultanan Buton government."
