Abstrak :
Penelitian ini membahas kesejarawanan, tokoh jurnalisme Indonesia, Rosihan Anwar. Ia dapat disebut sebagai sejarawan karena telah menerapkan metode sejarah dalam sejumlah karyanya. Keistimewaannya sebagai sejarawan adalah kemampuan mengumpulkan sumber-sumber lisan dalam bentuk wawancara dengan para pelaku atau saksi mata peristiwa tersebut. Kendati memiliki kelemahan dalam penggunaan sumber-sumber tertulis karena profesi wartawan memiliki batas waktu untuk penerbitan tulisan, penulisan sejarah Rosihan memiliki kekuatan pada retorikanya yang mampu menyajikan informasi secara menarik dan mudah dipahami oleh khalayak luas. Keberadaannya sebagai pencatat sejarah di masa Revolusi Kemerdekaan Indonesia menghasilkan karya yang memberi sumbangan kepada historiografi Indonesia berupa pendekatan penulisan sejarah alternatif yang dikenal sebagai sejarah kecil. ......This paper examines the historicity of Rosihan Anwar, an Indonesian journalist. He qualifies as a historian because he has used historical methodology in several of his writings. His ability to collect oral sources in the form of interviews with actors or eyewitnesses to the event is his speciality as a historian. Despite flaws in the utilisation of written materials due to the journalist profession's deadline for publishing writings, Rosihan's historical writing has a strength in its rhetoric, which is capable of presenting facts in a fascinating and readily understandable manner to a wide audience. His participation as a historian during Indonesia's Independence Revolution resulted in works that contributed to Indonesian historiography in the shape of a petite histoire, an alternative historical writing technique.

Abstrak :
This essay examines the contribution of new historicism in the history of western literary criticism, and inquires what this approach offers to Indonesia literary criticism. The paper unpacks some of the theoretical bases of new historicism,its break with the past as well at its continuation, and its interdisciplinary outreach to fields, which were used to be seen as "extrinsic" to the literary field. This paper discusses the horizons of inter relations opened up by this approach as well as its limitation, and finally suggests that Indonesian literature might be enriched by new historical analysis if it is applied critically and contextually.
