" Water control and management have been fundamental to the building of human civilisation. In Europe, the regulation of major rivers, the digging of canals and the wetland reclamation schemes from the 16th to 19th centuries, generated new typologies of waterscapes with significant implications for the people who resided within them. This book explores the role of waterways as a form of heritage, culture, and sense of place and the potential of this to underpin the development of cultural tourism. With a multidisciplinary approach across the social sciences and humanities, chapters explore how the control and management of water flows are among some of the most significant human activities to transform the natural environment. Based upon a wealth and breadth of European case studies, the book uncovers the complex relationships that we have with waterways, the ways that they have been represented over recent centuries and the ways in which they continue to be redefined in different cultural contexts. Contributions recognise not only valuable assets of hydrology that are at the core of landscape management, but also more intangible aspects that matter to people, such as their familiarity, affecting what is understood as the fluvial sense of place. This highly original collection will be of interest to those working in Cultural Tourism, Cultural Geography, Heritage Studies, Cultural History, Landscape Studies and Leisure Studies. "

"In 1985, Petra was included on the list of world heritage sites. Since then, low cost jet travel and a fast highway from the capital city of Amman have made the site increasingly accessible. The Jordanian government has made attracting tourists to Jordan a top priority.
Will Petra?s popularity as a tourism destination overshadow the importance of addressing these questions, and, more importantly, will tourism damage the archaeological remains there in ways that make answers more difficult or even impossible to find?"

The data in this study were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results showed that service quality with all three dimensions along with destination attachment positively affected the eWOM intention of museum tourists. In addition, it was found that the most influential dimension of service quality on eWOM intention is outcome quality."

Banda is an area that experienced the process of dominating natural resources during the colonial period. After the era of colonialism ended, the form of control is not only about natural resources, which categorized as commodities. Heritage tourism emerged as a new form of control in Banda. This thesis argue, heritage tourism construct new leadership model that called “big man”. To elaborate heritage tourism, this thesis use the concept of political ecology which is understood as political process or decision that affect to the environment. Data collection uses field research method, literature studies, and internet-based studies."
