"The lexical roots of Malay are flexible with regard to their grammatical categories, which presents a problem in providing grammatical evidence for their category determination. This paper attempts to propose the use of affixes as one way to deal with the issue. Data from Indonesian and Ambon (Malay) language are among others given for clarification. The grammatical evidence from Indonesian active meN-, together with other affixes, are revisited as they can contribute to our understanding of the matter."

"Morphemes combined with the Arabic noun are clearly described in the literature, but their interpretation can be somewhat nebulous, and a unified scholarly analysis does not as yet exist. This book proposes a new and unified perspective regarding these morphemes, analyzing them as copulae, and the constructions in which they occur as instances of predication. Analyzing morphemes combined with the Arabic noun as copulae explains many of their puzzling properties (rise and loss of declension, proteiform nature of nunation, etc.). Emphasis is placed on data previously marginalized in the description of these morphemes, from pre-Classical Arabic transmitted by Arab Grammarians, Semitic languages that contributed to the emergence of Arabic through language contact, and roughly 30 languages genetically unrelated to Arabic"

"This study focuses on the development of the use of grammatical cohesion devices on preschool childrens narratives. Participants in this study were children aged 3-6 years (N = 60) who live in the Greater Jakarta area and use the Indonesian language as the first language. This study uses production elicitation tasks adapted from Crain and Thornton (2004) with a wordless picture book as an instrument. The analysis of this study is the use of grammatical cohesion tools (references, ellipsis, substitutions, and conjunctions) of preschool children when they were telling the story. The data were also analyzed statistically. The results show a tendency of increase use of references, ellipsis, and conjunction as with the older children. However, the trend was not statistically significant. In this study, there are some significant correlations: references and ellipsis, references and substitutions, and ellipsis and substitution. "

l’Ecriture inclusive is a form of French writing suggested by Haut Conseil d’Egalite (HCE 2015) which aims to avoid gender discrimination mainly felt by women due to the negative connotations of feminine job titles as well as the concept of le masculin l’emporte sur le feminin (the masculine dominates feminine) in French grammar. This has sparked debates since Hatier, a publisher of primary school textbooks, decided to apply l’ecriture inclusive in its textbook (2017). In the debates, the media involvements in shaping public opinion on this issue were seen. This study aims to determine the position of French media towards the l’ecriture inclusive phenomenon through the writings and rhetoric in the articles they published. Using qualitative methods, the study is conducted based on Grevisse's morphological theory (2007) and the rules of l’ecriture inclusive presented by HCE (2015). The results show that the use of l’ecriture inclusive in the media was not a form of impact by political orientations, rather a characteristic of the contrariant (opposition) media. The partial application of l’ecriture inclusive shows that the medias still prioritize the communicative elements for the ease of information transmission to readers. In addition, the absence of l’ecriture inclusive in the headlines is to make searches of articles through web search engines easier"
