"Jalan tol Cikampek-Purwakarta-Padalarang (Cipularang) yang selesai dibangun dan beroperasi sejak tahun 2005 saat ini memiliki total panjang 58,50 km dan dilintasi lebih dari 18 juta kendaraan setiap tahunnya. Jalan tol Cipularang dibangun untuk meningkatkan konektivitas kota Jakarta dan Bandung serta kota-kota disekitarnya untuk mendukung sektor pariwisata, perekonomian, dan perdagangan. Tingkat kepadatan lalu lintas jalan tol Cipularang yang diukur dengan V/C ratio (volume/capacity), menunjukkan angka 0,68 – sedikit dibawah ambang batas 0,80. Sedikit gangguan pada jalan tol dapat berdampak pada timbulnya antrian kendaraan dan kemacetan. Kelongsoran pada lereng yang terjadi di KM 118+600 pada dua sisi jalan tol (jalur A dan B) berpotensi menyebabkan kemacetan panjang dan mengganggu aktivitas serta perekonomian di wilayah sekitarnya. Rekayasa geoteknik pada perkuatan lereng dilakukan untuk menangani longsor dan mencegah terjadinya kembali kejadian serupa di masa yang akan datang. Pekerjaan perkuatan lereng terbagi menjadi 3 bagian, yaitu perkuatan darurat/emergency, perkuatan jangka pendek, dan perkuatan jangka panjang. Sementara itu, dilakukan juga perkuatan terhadap galian drainase. Kriteria penanganan menggunakan angka faktor keamanan (safety factor – SF). Untuk perkuatan darurat dan jangka pendek SF ≥ 1,10, untuk perkuatan jangka panjang SF ≥ 1,50. Selain itu, untuk antisipasi ganguan operasional jalan tol, diterapkan manajemen lalu lintas yang bekerjasama dengan kepolisian dan pemerintah daerah setempat.

More than 18 million vehicles cross the Cikampek-Purwakarta-Padalarang (Cipularang) toll road each year, spanning a total length of 58.50 km, since its completion and operation in 2005. The Cipularang toll road was built to improve connectivity between the cities of Jakarta and Bandung and surrounding cities to support the tourism, economy, and trade sectors. The traffic density level of the Cipularang toll road, as measured by the V/C ratio (volume/capacity), shows a figure of 0.68—slightly below the threshold of 0.80. A slight disruption to the toll road can have an impact on the emergence of vehicle queues and congestion. The landslide on the slope that occurred at KM 118+600 on both sides of the toll road (lanes A and B) has the potential to cause long traffic jams and disrupt activities and the economy in the surrounding areas. Geotechnical engineering for slope reinforcement is carried out to handle landslides and prevent similar incidents from happening again in the future. Slope reinforcement work is divided into 3 parts, namely emergency reinforcement, short-term reinforcement, and long-term reinforcement. Meanwhile, reinforcement of drainage excavations is also carried out. The handling criteria use the safety factor (SF) figure. For emergency and short-term reinforcement SF ≥ 1.10, for long-term reinforcement SF ≥ 1.50. Moreover, traffic management is carried out in collaboration with the police and local government to anticipate any delays to toll road operations. "
