ABSTRAK
Tujuandariskripsi yang berjudul Prostitusi dan Masyarakat Gang Dolly Surabaya 1967-1999 adalah mengkaji faktor penyebab munculnya lokalisasi di Dolly, serta mengetahui dampak yang ditimbulkan lokalisasi Dolly kepada kehidupan masyarakat. Alih fungsi pemakaman Cina Putat Jaya pada tahun 1967 mengakibatkan lahan pemakaman tersebut berubah menjadi tempat prostitusi. Metode dan sumber yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode sejarah, yaitu: melalui tahap heuristik, kritik sumber sehingga didapatkan fakta sejarah yang benar-benar mendekati kenyataan peristiwa yang ditulis. Selanjutnya dilakukan tahap interpretasi data, tahap terakhir adalah historiografi. Sumber yang digunakan penulis dalam penelitian ini berupa sumber arsip, koran dan majalah sejaman, jurnal ilmiah, wawancara, serta buku sebagai sumber pendukung. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa lokalisasi Dolly yang berada di tengah-tengah pemukiman warga, telah menimbulkan banyak dampak bagi kehidupan masyarakat.Dampak tersebut tidak hanya bersifat negatif, tetapi juga bersifat positif bagi kehidupan masyarakat.Dampak positif terbesar akibat keberadaan lokalisasi Dolly adalah tumbuhnya perekonomian mikro di kawasan Gang Dolly dan sekitarnya.Kehidupan lokalisasi dan masyarakat sekitar lokalisasi yang selama ini diidentikkan dengan hal negatif, ternyata masih memiliki sisi religius. Sisi religus terlihat dari keberadaan beberapa tempat ibadah di sekitar lokalisasi Gang Dolly, kebiasaan germo yang menutup wisma prostitusinya saat bulan Ramadhan, serta adanya wisma yang melakukan kegiatan pengajian rutin setiap Kamis malam.

ABSTRACT
The purpose of this thesis with the title, Prostitution and the People in Gang Dolly, Surabaya (1967-199) is to discuss about the factors of the emergence of localization in Dolly, and also to know the impact of localization Dolly to communities? life. The transformation of the Chinese cemetery Putat Jaya in 1967 has given the impact to that burial ground turned into a place of prostitution. Methods and sources used in this study is the historical method, namely: through the stages of heuristic, criticism of sources to obtain historical facts are really close to the reality of events written. Furthermore, the data interpretation stage, and the last stage is historiography. Sources used by the author in this study are archival sources, newspaper and contemporary magazines, interviews, and books as a supportive source. The result of this study indicate that the localization of Dolly which is in the middle of residential areas, has caused a lot of impacts to people?s lives. The impact is not only negative, but also positive for the community. The biggest positive impact due to the existence of localization of Dolly is the micro-economic growth in the region and surrounding of Gang Dolly. Localization and community life around localization that have been identified with the negative, it still has a religious side. Religious side seen from the presence of several places of worship around the Gang Dolly area.The pimp/procurer that will close his or her prostitution homestead during the month of Ramadhan, as well as the homestead that conduct regular pengajian every Thursday night.
