Anak sakit menjadi alasan ibu untuk tidak hadir atau bekerja tidak optimal. Penelitian ini bertujuan melihat hubungan praktik pemberian ASI eksklusif dengan frekuensi anak sakit dan produktivitas ibu tenaga kesehatan. Penelitian kuantitatif desain cross- sectional dengan sampel 160 ibu pekerja tenaga kesehatan di rumah sakit di kota dan kabupaten di Samarinda. Hasil menunjukan ada hubungan yang signifikan antara praktik pemberian ASI eksklusif dengan frekuensi anak sakit dan produktivitas ibu tenaga kesehatan (p=0.002). Hasil analisis menunjukan OR=3,22 pada variabel frekuensi anak sakit dan OR=2,99 pada variabel produktivitas ibu. Rekomendasi untuk mengidentifikasi faktor yang mempengaruhi praktik pemberian ASI eksklusif bagi tenaga kesehatan secara kualitatif mengeksplorasi pengaruhnya terhadap kesehatan anak dan produktivitas ibu serta perlu instrumen khusus untuk mengukur produktivitas ibu menyusui dan standar untuk memperkirakan waktu yang hilang karena presenteeism. Perlunya adanya regulasi terkait cuti melahirkan dan menyusui tanpa melihat status kepegawaian responden.

ABSTRACT
The sick child becomes the reason for the mother not to attend or work not optimal. This study aims to examine the relationship of exclusive breastfeeding practices to the frequency of sick children and the productivity of health-care mothers. Quantitative research of cross-sectional design with a sample of 160 mothers of health workers at hospitals in cities and districts in Samarinda. The results show that there is a significant relationship between exclusive breastfeeding practices and the frequency of sick children and the productivity of health-care mothers (p = 0.002). The results of analysis showed OR = 3.22 on the variable frequency of sick children and OR = 2.99 on the variable productivity of the mother. Recommendations for identifying factors affecting exclusive breastfeeding practices for health workers qualitatively explore their impact on child health and maternal productivity and need special instruments to measure breastfeeding mothers productivity and standards for estimating lost time due to presenteeism. The need for regulation related to maternity leave and breastfeeding regardless of employee's status.
