Tesis ini membahas observasi dan partisipasi kegiatan komunitas tokusatsu dalam kaitannya dengan budaya konsumsi dan dinamika budaya penggemar teks budaya populer tokusatsu di indonesia. penelitian etnografis ini bertujuan untuk melihat interaksi budaya penggemar dalam komunitas yang menggemari budaya populer dan produksi budaya yang tercipta dari kegiatan penggemar budaya tersebut. hasil penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa aktivitas yang dilakukan di komutoku merupakan bentuk konsumsi kreatif dan menjadi komunitas sosial alternatif bagi penggemarnya. ......This thesis discusses the observation and participation of tokusatsu community activities in relation to the culture of consumption and the dynamics of the fan culture of the popular tokusatsu cultural texts in Indonesia. This ethnographic study aims to see the interaction of fan culture in the community who favor popular culture and cultural production created by the activities of these cultural enthusiasts. the results of the study concluded that the activities carried out in comedy are a form of creative consumption and an alternative social community for fans.

Abstrak :
Komik sebagai karya berfungsi sebagai alat komunikasi. Komik menempatkan penulis (author) sebagai pembuat pesan yang menyampaikan pesannya melalui media komunikasi kepada para pembaca komik yang berperan sebagai penerima. Penelitian ini membahas seri komik Batman dari DC Comics. Komik akan dilihat dalam dua wujud utama, yaitu sebagai suatu karya seni dan sebagai suatu komoditas. Penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode penelitian etnografi kemudian dilanjutkan dengan penelitian metodologi etnografi dan wawancara baik secara offline dan online dengan beberapa narasumber sebagai pembaca komik Batman. Para pembaca, khususnya fandom (penggemar) berperan sebagai agen aktif dalam proses mengartikan dan menginterpretasi komik. Para fandom yang sudah mendalami komik membentuk kebudayaan yang disebut sebagai fandom culture (budaya fandom). Dengan demikian, komik yang dibaca kemudian memiliki makna yang berbeda-beda sesuai dengan interpretasi dari para pembaca berdasarkan kondisi sosial mereka. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan fandom culture komik Batman dan ekspresinya. Fandom culture Batman mengekspresikan berbagai polabudaya seperti: Konsumsi Komik, Fandom Gathering, dan Translasi terhadap narasi Batman. Salah satu bentuk Ekspresi fandom culture diwujudkan melalui proses translasi salah satu tema yang diangkat oleh Batman, yaitu vigilantisme. Proses interpretasi tersebut berlandaskan pada kehidupan sosial para fandom dari Indonesia yang berkaitan dengan permasalahan hukum di Indonesia ......Comics as works function as communication tools. Comics place the author as a message maker who conveys his message through the medium of communication to comic readers who act as recipients. This research discusses the Batman comic series from DC Comics. Comics will be seen in two main forms, namely as a work of art and as a commodity. The research was conducted using ethnographic research methods and interviews with several sources as readers of Batman comics through offline and online meets. Readers, especially fandom (fans) play an active role in the process of interpreting and interpreting comics. The fandom that has been steeped in comic form so-called culture of fandom culture. Thus, the comics that are read then have different meanings according to the interpretations of the readers based on their social conditions. This study aims to explain fandom culture in Batman comics and its expressions. Batman fandom culture expresses various cultural patterns such as: Comic Consumption, Fandom Gathering, and Translation of Batman's narrative. One form of fandom cultural expression is manifested through the translation process of one of the themes raised by Batman, namely vigilantism. The interpretation process is based on the social life of Indonesian fandoms relating to legal issues in Indonesia.
