Studi ini menyelidiki dampak In-Vehicle Infotainment System (IVIS) pada Situation Awareness (SA) pengemudi menggunakan Situation Presence Assessment Method (SPAM) dan teknologi eye tracker. Penelitian ini penting karena peningkatan penggunaan IVIS dalam kendaraan modern dapat menyebabkan gangguan yang berpotensi meningkatkan kecelakaan lalu lintas. Simulasi mengemudi waktu nyata melibatkan 20 peserta (10 pria dan 10 wanita) berusia 19-25 tahun, yang menjalani dua kondisi mengemudi: tanpa gangguan dan dengan gangguan IVIS. Data pelacakan mata dikumpulkan menggunakan kacamata Tobii Pro, dan SA dinilai dengan kuesioner SPAM setiap empat menit selama simulasi. Data dianalisis menggunakan SPSS dan Tobii Pro Analyzer dengan berbagai uji statistik, termasuk uji normalitas, Mann-Whitney, Wilcoxon signed-rank, dan ANOVA. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa IVIS secara signifikan menurunkan SA pengemudi selama kondisi mengemudi yang terganggu. Rekomendasi termasuk mengoptimalkan ukuran dan tata letak layar, mengintegrasikan antarmuka multimodal, dan menerapkan regulasi lalu lintas yang lebih ketat untuk meningkatkan keselamatan pengemudi. Studi ini menekankan perlunya perbaikan desain IVIS dan regulasi untuk mengurangi kecelakaan lalu lintas akibat gangguan. ......This study investigates the impact of In-Vehicle Infotainment Systems (IVIS) on drivers' Situation Awareness (SA) using the Situation Presence Assessment Method (SPAM) and eye-tracking technology. This research is crucial because the increasing use of IVIS in modern vehicles can cause distractions that potentially increase traffic accidents. A real-time driving simulation involved 20 participants (10 men and 10 women) aged 19-25, who underwent two driving conditions: undistracted and distracted with IVIS. Eye-tracking data was collected using Tobii Pro glasses, and SA was assessed with SPAM questionnaires every four minutes during the simulation. The data was analyzed using SPSS and Tobii Pro Analyzer with various statistical tests, including normality tests, Mann-Whitney tests, Wilcoxon signed-rank tests, and ANOVA. The results showed that IVIS significantly decreased drivers' SA during distracted driving conditions. Recommendations include optimizing screen size and layout, integrating multimodal interfaces, and enforcing stricter traffic regulations to improve driver safety. This study emphasizes the need for improved IVIS design and regulation to reduce traffic accidents caused by distractions.

Penulis pada penelitian ini tidak hanya melakukan perancangan sebuah purna rupa Eye Tracker namun juga memberikan sebuah studi kasus yang merupakan implementasi peralatan yang penulis rancang yang diharapkan dapat menjadi cikal bakal penelitian-penelitian pada dengan menggunakan Eye Tracker berikutnya. Eye tracking merupakan metode pengukuran titik tatapan mata atau pergerakan mata terhadap posisi kepala manusia. Sebuah eye tracker adalah peralatan yang digunakan untuk mengukur posisi dan pergerakan mata. Perancangannya pada penelitian ini menggunakan Metode Perancangan Berbasis Pengguna (User Centered Design) yang merupakan salah satu pendekatan dalam melakukan perancangan Human Computer Interaction. Eye Tracker yang dirancang penulis menerapkan teknologi Video Based Eye Tracker yang terdiri dari sebuah komputer, monitor, kamera, dan sumber cahaya infra-merah. Sistem didukung oleh aplikasi komputer atau software yang akan menginterpretasikan data yang diterima. Studi kasus yang penulis lakukan pada penelitian perancangan Eye Tracker ini adalah dengan mengimplementasikan penggunaan Eye Tracker untuk menafsirkan beberapa quality atribute. Metode penafsirannya menggunakan metode Web Usability dimana penulis melalui peralatan Eye Tracker memberikan penafsiran kuantitatif terhadap tingkat Learnability, Efficiency, Memorability, Errors, dan Satisfaction dari halaman web Departemen Teknik Industri UI www.ie.ui.ac.id. Hasil penelitian ini berupa purna-rupa sebuah Eye Tracker yang memenuhi prinsip dasar pengembangan peralatan laboratorium: multi-fungsi, murah harganya; rendah biaya perawatannya; dan sesuai standar. Dan sebuah studi kasus penggunaan Eye Tracker pada evaluasi desain halaman web dengan menggunakan metode Web Usability. Halaman Website yang digunakan sebagai obyek penelitian adalah halaman website Departemen Teknik Industri Universitas Indonesia dengan alamat www.ie.ui.ac.id. Halaman tersebut terlebih dahulu di download secara keseluruhan kedalam sebuah server lokal guna menghindari adanya perbedaan waktu akses. ......The author is not only designing an Eye Tracker but also provides a case study which is the implementation of the stake equipments that can be expected become a research embryo on using the Eye Tracker. Eye tracking is a method of measuring eye saccade to eye gaze of the human head position. An eye tracker is the equipment used to measure the position and movement of the eye. The design of an Eye Tracker on this research is using User Centered Design Method, which is one of the approaches applying to the design of the Human Computer Interaction. Eye Tracker is designed by applying Video Eye Tracker technology, which consists of a computer, monitor, camera, and infrared system. The system is supported by computer software that interprets the data will be received. The case study that the author did research on The Eye Tracker is by implementing the use of the Eye Tracker for interpret some quality attribute. The method of interpreting is using Web Usability method and through the Eye Tracker equipment provides quantitative interpretation of the level of learnability, efficiency, memorability, errors, and satisfaction from the web page of Department of Industrial Engineering UI: www.ie.ui.ac.id. Results of this research is a prototype of an Eye Tracker that meets the basic principles of the development of laboratory equipment: a multi-function, low price; low-cost maintenance and appropriate standards and also a case study on the use of the Eye Tracker to evaluate a design web page using Web Usability method. The web page that is used as an object of research is a web page of Department of Industrial Engineering, University of Indonesia with an address www.ie.ui.ac.id. The pages are downloaded into a local server in order to avoid differences in access time.

Product packaging is not only used as a product container, but also used as a means of marketing by companies, particularly by those involved in consumer goods. Yogurt products are predicted to experience expansion in the Indonesian market. In this study, the authors analyzed the implementation of cognitive-based design in developing yogurt product packaging to increase consumers’ willingness to buy the product. This study was divided into two phases: initial research and primary research. Initial research pursued six levels of color scheme and font factors and then narrowed down the results into the two best options that would later be combined with the primary research that analysed the shape factors. Research methods used in the initial study were the Eye-Tracking method and the ‘Retrospective-Think-Aloud’ (RTA) method. Preliminary results showed that ‘Fineliner’ and ‘Bodoni’ font type along with ‘Analogue’ and ‘Tetradic’ color schemes are judged to be the best combination and thus, these results would be combined in the main study with the shape factor. Conjoint Analysis methods were used in the main study. The main results of the research study showed a preference from Indonesian consumers for yogurt product packaging with the ‘Fineline’ font type with its rounded shape and an ‘Analogue’ color scheme.

Penelitian dengan objek gambar papan menu coffee shop yang berbasis tulisan dengan latar papan warna hitam dan tulisan putih dilakukan dengan menggunakan alat EyeLink II Head Fixed Eye-Tracker. Pergerakan pupil mata selama melihat papan menu saat eksperimen direkam oleh eye-tracker dan dihasilkan data berupa fiksasi, saccades, durasi fiksasi, perpindahan fiksasi mata, dll. Dari data yang diperoleh, akan dilakukan pengolahan data untuk menghasilkan fixation map dan laporan lainnya dan kemudian hasil akan dianalisis. Hasil akhir penelitian ini mendapatkan sebuah pola pembacaan dan juga daerah strategis pada papan menu coffee shop. ......A study of coffee shop?s menu board as the object was done using Eyelink II Head Fixed Eye-Tracker. The menu board is the one that is display written menu (white on black) and no picture. Behavior of seeing such display that is represented by the pupil movement is recorded by eye-tracker and then generate various data, such as: fixation data, saccades data, fixation duration, eye movement path, etc. Further data processing is done to generate fixation map and other reports. Analysis is done based on fixation map result and data generated by eye-tracker. The final output from this study includes information about how is the reading pattern, and the most attractive interest area in the menu board.
