Abstrak :
Arkeologi Industri merupakan sebuah kajian dalam ilmu arkeologi yang berusaha memahami mengenai perkembangan sosial, ekonomi, dan teknologi sejak periode industrialisasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan tentang gaya hidup masyarakat elit Batavia pada tahun 1932-1942 yang ada di restoran es krim Ragusa melalui data berupa foto-foto masa lalu yang menggambarkan aktifitas masyarakat, aktifitas di dalam restoran es krim Ragusa, iklan-iklan dari majalah, dan wawancara dari pemilik restoran es krim Ragusa. Berdasarkan hasil analisis diketahui bahwa restoran es krim Ragusa merupakan sebuah simbol dari gaya hidup orang kulit putih atau Eropa.

Industrial archeology is a study in the science of archeology which seeks to understand the social, economic, and technology since the period of industrialization. This study aimed to describe the lifestyle of elite Batavia in 1932-1942 in the restaurant ice cream Ragusa through the data in the form of photographs depicting past community activities, activity in the ice cream restaurant Ragusa, advertisements from magazines, and an interview of the owner of the restaurant ice cream Ragusa. Based on the results of analysis show that the ice cream restaurant Ragusa is a symbol of the lifestyle of European.
