Abstrak :
Unsur seksual biasanya dimunculkan dalam bentuk deskripsi erotis pada karya novel populer. Namun, seringkali deskripsi tersebut dianggap berlebihan dan condong ke arah pornografi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat unsur seksual dalam novel populer berjudul How to Stay Single. Analisis tokoh, latar, dan alur dapat menunjukkan deskripsi unsur seksual yang muncul dalam novel. Desain sampul juga menjadi salah satu faktor dalam penyampaian unsur seksual. Meskipun unsur seksual yang dimunculkan dalam novel cenderung berlebihan, hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa novel How to Stay Single tidak termasuk kategori novel porno, melainkan novel populer dengan kategori erotis. ......Sexual element usually appear in the form of erotic descriptions on the work of the popular novel. But often these descriptions were considered redundant and leaning towards pornography. This study aims to see the element of sexuality in a popular novel titled How to Stay Single. Analysis of characters, backgrounds, and grooves can show a description of the element of sexuality that appears in the novel. Cover design is also one of the factors in the delivery of sexual element. Although elements of sexuality are raised in the novel tends to be excessive, the analysis shows that the novel How to Stay Single is not categorized as pornographic novels, but the popular novel with erotic category.

Pembatasan politik patriarki dan pemahaman kolektif masyarakat seringkali menghambat interpretasi sejati ekspresi diri perempuan, khususnya dalam konteks seksualitas dan erotisme. Artikel ini bertujuan mengeksplorasi peran erotisisme, sebagaimana disampaikan oleh Audre Lorde, dalam membentuk relasi lesbianisme yang memenuhi kebutuhan, memberikan kebebasan, dan memunculkan life force dalam diri perempuan. Stigma dan asumsi seputar hubungan lesbianisme diidentifikasi sebagai potensi penghalang bagi perempuan mencapai kebebasan. Melalui metode deskriptif-analisis dan pendekatan kualitatif, artikel ini menganalisis erotisme perempuan secara holistik, menunjukkan potensi untuk menciptakan dunia dalam relasi lesbianisme yang menjadikannya salah satu pilihan kebebasan perempuan. Pengumpulan data berbasis kajian literatur diterapkan untuk memperdalam pemahaman terhadap konsep dan makna yang membantu redefinisi konsep erotisisme dan lesbianisme. Artikel ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi yang signifikan dalam memperkaya pemahaman literatur mengenai konsep erotisme, kebebasan, dan relasi perempuan, khususnya lesbianisme.  ......The constraints of patriarchal politics and collective societal understandings often impede the authentic interpretation of women's self-expression, particularly in the realms of sexuality and eroticism. This article aims to explore the role of eroticism, as articulated by Audre Lorde, in shaping lesbian relationships that fulfill women's needs, provide freedom, and evoke a life force within women. Stigmas and assumptions surrounding lesbian relationships are identified as potential barriers for women to attain freedom. Through a descriptive-analytical method and qualitative approach, this article holistically analyzes women's eroticism, demonstrating its potential to create a world within lesbian relationships that becomes one of the choices for women's freedom. Literature-based data collection is employed to deepen the understanding of concepts and meanings that contribute to the redefinition of eroticism and lesbianism. This article is expected to make a significant contribution to enriching the literature's understanding of the concepts of eroticism, freedom, and women's relationships, particularly lesbianism.
