Skripsi ini membahas eksplorasi anak terhadap elemen pada lingkungan alam yang dapat dijelaskan melalui sebuah mekanisme berbentuk siklus yang terdiri dari perceive, act, feedback, dan reflect. Mekanisme tersebut bertujuan untuk menjelaskan proses dan hubungan timbal balik antara anak dan elemen alam. Pengalaman yang bersifat eksploratif bergantung pada intensitas pengalaman yang dapat dijelaskan sebagai hubungan antara manusia dan intensitas di sekitar yang saling mempengaruhi. Lingkungan alam yang mendukung aktivitas eksplorasi memiliki keragaman yang bervariasi, seperti adanya elemen alami dan makhluk hidup beserta ekosistemnya, dengan karakter fisik yang dapat diubah dan digunakan oleh anak. Studi kasus diperoleh melalui beberapa sumber berupa narasi dan hasil observasi dalam artikel ilmiah, serta cuplikan program televisi mengenai aktivitas bermain di lingkungan alam. Berdasarkan kajian teori dan studi kasus, ditemukan bahwa aspek yang berperan dalam intensitas eksplorasi dapat diidentifikasi melalui hasil refleksi, karakteristik elemen alam dan keterlibatan kemampuan sensorik pada tiap tahap. ......This thesis discusses the children‟s exploration of elements in natural environments which can be explained through a cyclic mechanism consisting of: perceive, act, feedback, and reflect stage. Such mechanism aims to unravel the process, as well as the transactional relationship between children and natural elements. Meanwhile, explorative experience depends on the reciprocal relationship between human and the intensity of their surroundings that affects each other. Characteristic of the natural environment which supports exploratory activity has various types. For instance, natural elements as well as living objects with their ecosystems, which have physical characteristics that can be changed and used by children. Author obtained the case studies through narration and observation results from scientific articles, along with a footage of television program showing children playing in the natural environment. The findings obtained from theoretical and case studies show that several aspects which affect the intensity of exploration are: the results of reflection stage, characteristic of natural elements, and the involvement of sensory capabilities in each mechanism stage.
