Semua hal tidak lepas dari perubahan. Waktu merupakan aset yang krusial dalam perubahan maupun perkembangan suatu hal. Pentingnya pemahaman perubahan dan perkembangan dalam arsitektur maupun interior dibutuhkan untuk dapat memahami identitas suatu bangunan, karena tanpa adanya pemahaman yang cukup, suatu bangunan perlahan dapat kehilangan identitasnya. Skripsi ini bertujuan untuk mengulas mekanisme perubahan secara diakronik.

Time plays a crucial part in the transformation of something the change, or the development of something. Comprehending the significance of change in architecture and interior are needed in order to have a better understanding of a buildings identity, because without proper understanding of the change over a building, that presumed building ceases to have its identity. This thesis discusses the mechanism of interpreting change diachronically.

Abstrak :
This research is about the change of determiners in Cirebonese nominal groups based on the text from 18th century until 21st. The change of determiners in nominal groups is analysed to investigate Cirebonese change diacronically. Functional grammar by Halliday & Matthiessen (2004) is used to analyse nominal group. After that, grammatical change theory by Heine & Kuteva (2005) will be applied. Thus, based on this research, Cirebonese is changed. This change is reflected by the lost of determiners, such as sira, ira, and nira (you, yours, him, or her), as determiners from 18th century and they disappeared in 21st century. Besides that, the change is also reflected by the emergence of determiner in 21st century such as piyambek(e) /piyamb!k(e)/. However, it is not found in the previous century. The behavior of determiners that can be moved, as premodifier and post modifier, gives no impact for nominal groups meaning. In other words, the change of Cirebonese determiners does not go along with the meaning.
