Adolescence is the transition from childhood to adulthood. Developmental tasks and aspects of development contribute to the successful achievement of adolescent psychosocial development. One important issue in achieving adolescent self-identity is related to body image. This study aims to determine the relationship between psychosocial development and adolescent body image. Researchers used a cross-sectional research design with purposive sampling technique to obtain a research sample of 283 adolescents from SMA Negeri 9 Kota Bogor. This study used three types of questionnaires, namely Multidimensional Body-Self Relations Questionnaire-Appearance Scales (MBSRQ-AS), Extended Objective Measure of Ego Identity Status II (EOM-EIS II), and adolescent developmental ability questionnaire. Based on Rank-Spearman analysis, there was a significant relationship between developmental tasks p = 0.001 (p < 0.05) and developmental aspects p = 0.003 (p < 0.05) with adolescent body image. This study is expected to optimize the role of educational institutions and social environment in understanding the importance of stimulating psychosocial development and the body image of adolescents to be more optimal."
