"Yves Saint Laurent adalah salah satu rumah mode Prancis, yang berdiri pada 1961 dalam kurun waktu periode tiga puluh tahun kejayaan Prancis atau yang disebut dengan Le trente glorieuses (1945-1975). Seiring kemajuan perekonomian Prancis pada zaman itu, hal lain pun secara tidak langsung terkena dampaknya, salah satunya ialah timbul gerakan revolusi seksual serta isu-isu kesetaraan gender. Dalam artikel ini, penulis akan mengkaji perubahan konstruksi gender selama kurun waktu tersebut melalui mode, khususnya model desain koleksi haute couture Yves Saint Laurent. Penelitian ini akan memakai metode kualitatif Creswell (2013), konsep gender Butler (1990), serta teori Dekonstruksi Derrida (1967). Ketiganya akan dipakai untuk menganalisis korpus koleksi gambar pakaian haute couture Yves Saint Laurent di situs collection.museeyslparis.com, dengan tambahan referensi artikel How Yves Saint Laurent changed fashion oleh Healy (2015) melalui situs dazeddigital.com dan artikel Le Smoking Forever dalam situs wmagazine.com oleh Petrarca (2015). Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan bahwa terdapat makna gender yang terdekonstruksi melalui model pakaian haute couture Yves Saint Laurent. Temuan ini diikuti dengan dua makna penting tentang gender yang juga sesuai dengan konsep gender Butler (1990) melalui ketiga sampel desain yang dianalisis, bahwa: 1). gender adalah sebuah spektrum (eksistensinya dalam diri seseorang tidak dapat diketagorikan hanya dalam satu atau dua definisi), 2). gender adalah sesuatu yang akan selalu berubah dan bertransformasi sesuai perkembangan zaman. Hal ini sekaligus menunjukkan bahwa desain haute couture Yves Saint Laurent visioner dan relevan terhadap isu sosial di masa yang akan datang.

Yves Saint Laurent is a French fashion house, which was founded in 1961 during the thirty- year period of the French heyday or what is called Le trente Gglorieuses (1945-1975). Along with the progress of the French economy at that time, other things were also indirectly affected, one of which was the emergence of the sexual revolution movement and issues of gender equality. In this article, the author will examine changes in the construction of gender during this period through fashion, especially Yves Saint Laurent's haute couture collection designs. This research will use Creswell's qualitative method (2013), Butler's gender concept (1990), and Derrida's Deconstruction theory (1967). All three will be used to analyze the corpus of Yves Saint Laurent's haute couture clothing image collection on the website collection.museeyslparis.com, with additional references to the article How Yves Saint Laurent changed fashion by Healy (2015) via the dazeddigital.com website and the article Le Smoking Forever on the wmagazine.com by Petrarca (2015). The results of the study show that gender meaning is proven to be deconstructed through Yves Saint Laurent's haute couture clothing model. This finding is followed by two important meanings about gender which are also following Butler's (1990) concept of gender through the three sample designs analyzed, that: 1). gender is a spectrum (its existence in a person cannot be categorized in only one or two definitions), 2). Gender is something that will always change and transform according to the times. This also shows that Yves Saint Laurent's haute couture designs are visionary and relevant to social issues in the future."

Pada tahun 2023, Korea Selatan meluncurkan film berjudul Kill Boksoon yang mencoba mengangkat isu dekonstruksi gender. Penulis tertarik untuk mengetahui gambaran perempuan yang bekerja sebagai pembunuh bayaran melalui produk budaya populer Korea Selatan tersebut. Pertanyaan penelitian ini adalah bagaimana perempuan yang berprofesi sebagai pembunuh bayaran digambarkan menjalankan perannya sebagai pencari nafkah dan ibu dalam film Kill Boksoon. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik simak catat untuk mengumpulkan data. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan penggambaran perempuan dengan sifat maskulin saat bekerja dan sifat feminin ketika memenuhi peran seorang ibu.

Gender is often confused with sex, even though they are different things. In 2023, South Korea released a movie titled Kill Boksoon which tries to raise the issue of gender deconstruction. The author wants to explore the representation of women working as hitman through South Korea's popular culture product. The issue discussed in this research is how women working as hitmen are portrayed in carrying out their roles as breadwinners and mother in the movie Kill Boksoon. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative with note-taking techniques to collect data. The result of this research shows the representation of women who exhibit masculine characteristics when working and feminine characteristics when fulfilling the role of a mother."
