Abstrak :
The problem in developing practical courses at universities that apply the distance education in Indonesia are: 1)It is difficult to determine the place of practice for students because students are spread in different locations; 2)The study program found it difficult to develop a practice course in distance education methods. The development of subject matter practice in the government science study program at Universitas Terbuka has a significant urgency with the needs of the people in Indonesia. This article aims to analyze the development of practical courses in government science study programs, in Universitas Terbuka.This article is the result of a research with a qualitative approach. Primary data obtained from interviews with experts, students, and graduate users. Secondary data includes the results of the literature review, the results of previous studies, and documents relating to practical subjects. The research findings are: 1)Mastery of students in understanding governance as science and art implies not only at the level of mastery of theory and concepts, but also the importance of prioritizing attitude skills and behavior in dealing with government phenomena. 2)The subject matter which has the potential to be developed into practice material is a course related to development, village government, the legislature, and the methodology of governmental science. The implication of this finding is the need to conduct a comparative study in the application of practical subjects at several other universities that use distance learning methods both domestically and abroad.

Abstrak :
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat bagaimana persepsi yang ditunjukkan mahasiswa akuntansi terhadap metode collaborative learning yang diterapkan pada mata kuliah akuntansi. Sampel penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa akuntansi S1 Universitas XYZ angkatan 2010 hingga 2013. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan tidak terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan baik antara mahasiswa akuntansi yang cum laude dan non-cum laude, maupun antara mahasiswa akuntansi tingkat awal dan tingkat akhir. Ini berarti adanya collaborative learning tidak memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap kegiatan belajar mahasiswa. Hal ini disebabkan oleh penerapan collaborative learning yang belum bisa optimal. ......The purpose of this research is to find whether the collaborative learning will improve the studying activity significantly in accounting courses. Sample of this research consist of University of XYZ?s accounting student who still active in college. The result shows that there is no significantly different between cum laude and non cum laude student and there is no significantly different between first year student and last year student in their perception to the collaborative learning method. It means that the existence of collaborative learning doesn?t give a significant effect to the studying activity of student. Moreover, the practice of collaborative learning still should be improved.

Abstrak :
Keikutsertaan dalam les bahasa sebagai pelajaran tambahan dapat menjadi salah satu faktor keberhasilan dalam pembelajaran bahasa asing. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari kemampuan pemelajar pemula dalam melafalkan bunyi bahasa asing yang dipelajari. Penelitian ini mengkaji pengaruh keikutsertaan pemelajar pemula dalam les bahasa sebagai pelajaran tambahan dalam pembelajaran bahasa Prancis sebagai bahasa asing terhadap pencapaian pelafalan bunyi vokal bahasa Prancis dengan menggunakan teori interferensi Weinreich (2010) dan teori psikolinguistik Chaer (2019). Sumber data penelitian kualitatif ini diperoleh dari rekaman suara kosakata bahasa Prancis yang mengandung bunyi vokal yang diambil secara acak dari buku ajar Alter Ego+ A2 yang diproduksi oleh dua kategori mahasiswa program studi Prancis Fakultas Ilmu Pengetahuan Budaya, Universitas Indonesia: yang mengikuti les bahasa Prancis sebagai pelajaran tambahan dan yang tidak. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa subjek penelitian cenderung mengganti fonem bahasa Prancis dengan bahasa ibu bahasa Indonesia. Hal ini terjadi karena tidak terdapat beberapa fonem-fonem vokal bahasa Prancis dalam bahasa Indonesia. Pengaruh kecil dari bahasa Inggris dan kebiasaan mengucapkan dalam bahasa Indonesia yang mengucapkan sesuai dengan yang tertulis, juga mempengaruhi kesalahan yang dilakukan. Jumlah kesalahan pelafalan yang lebih tinggi ditemukan pada pemelajar pemula yang tidak mengikuti les bahasa Prancis dan di antara mereka yang mengambilnya sebentar. Hal ini membuktikan bahwa les bahasa efektif sebagai faktor pemberhasil pembelajaran bahasa asing. ......Participation in language supplementary courses as an additional enhancement lesson can be one of the success factors in foreign language learning. This can be seen from the ability of beginners in pronouncing the sounds of the foreign language they studied. This study examines the effect of the participation of beginners in language supplementary courses as an additional enhancement lesson in learning French as a foreign language on the achievement of pronunciation of French vowels using Weinreich's interference theory (2010) and Chaer's psycholinguistic theory (2019). The data sources for this qualitative research were obtained from voice recordings of French vocabulary containing vowel sounds taken randomly from the Alter Ego+ A2 textbook, produced by two categories of students from the French study program, Faculty of Humanities, Universitas Indonesia: those who take French courses as an extra course and those who don’t. The results showed that the research subjects tended to replace French phonemes with Indonesian as their mother tongue. This happened because there are several French phonemes that Indonesian does not have. The small influence of English and the habit of pronouncing in Indonesian, which pronounces according to what is written, also affects the mistakes made. A higher number of pronunciation errors was found in beginners who did not take French supplementary courses and among those who took them briefly. This proves that language supplementary courses are effective as a successful factor in foreign language learning.

Abstrak :
This article describes a number of undergraduate English language major elective content based courses at a Japanese public university, providing overall course outlines, class activities, sample homework tasks, analysis of end-of-semester student feedback and suggestions for improvements for subsequent course iterations.
